Hannah Bunch, the preacher’s spinster daughter, wants to help heaven along by hatching a plan to bring a shy suitor up to the point of a proposal. The Bible had Ruth meeting Boaz on the threshing field. If that worked for Ruth, couldn’t it work for Hannah? It did. It all went … couldn’t it work for Hannah? It did. It all went perfectly, except the wrong man got snared.
Henry Lee Watson likes his life—without a wife. He makes the finest corn liquor in the territory. A good business on Saturday night, does not always make a good marriage to a Sunday morning kind of woman. But it’s a shotgun wedding and he’s thinking that the starchy preacher’s daughter is maybe she’s not so starchy after all.
Pamela Morsi writes with great tenderness and insight. — Luanne Rice, NYTimes Bestselling Author

What a delight to read! It is rare for a book to offer true humor and this one does. The author deftly interwove historical detail, in depth character development and a tale of moral growth into a worthwhile read. Don’t miss it.
Enjoyed the story line and the characters were different from the usual romance books. The lead female was refreshingly not blonde and dainty with creamy skin and soft hands. The male character was handsome and funny but not dashing and chivalrous like most lead males. The way they got together was unique and happened right up front. However I can’t recommend because there was too much sex for my taste. I like that they were married and don’t mind sex itself I just don’t want to read all the details.
Very sweet story. Good character development. Different spin on frontier story.
One of my favorites.
This story reminded me that sometimes our biggest mistakes can turn into our best blessing.
This book has lots of unexpected events. It keeps you wondering what will happen next. Great story! Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Light reading. Entertaining.
I enjoyed the story very much, but was surprised at the steamy content for a Christian romance. . The digital version needs serious editing for errors in spelling.
Heaven Sent (Small Town Swains book 1) by Pamela Morsi is an American historical romance set in late 19th century Oklahoma. Likable, flawed characters, an appealing plot, descriptions of people and life on the frontier combine to make an enjoyable read.
This is a well written and edited western romance novel. The bible wheeling heroine marries a moonshiner by mistake. There are many turns and twists to their happy ending. Recommend highly.
I liked this book, even if it WAS set in Oklahoma(one of my least favorite places in the world!!). Good plot.
Really enjoyed reading this book.
Loved the heroine’s plan to get her husband and her father’s wisdom in dealing with the young couple. The hero was not a perfectly moral man for most of the book but this realistic dipiction of him was novel and gave the love story a touch of reality”And they lived happily ever after” most important !
I enjoyed the characters and their individual thoughts. They were good people at heart. It is a fiction story but I could connect with the individuals. I reread thoughtfully written parts.
The preacher’s daughter and the moonshiner. A lot of mistakes, one forced marriage, and finally there love grows enough for them to sacrifice for each other.
I was disappointed that there were so many editorial mistakes in this book. The author is a great storyteller but I feel she felt she had to put in gratuitous sex scenes and they seemed stuck in there instead of to just flow with the story. I’m sorry, it wasn’t my favorite read.
What a predicament Hannah gets herself into when she uses the story of Ruth in the Bible to catch a husband. Thinking she is going to trick the shy, mercantile owner, Will into marrying her, instead she wakes up in the arms of Henry Lee Watson, the moonshiner. She does not know of his trade but evidently everyone else in town does. Easy to read humorous story that turns out very well.
An enjoyable read
graphic married sex
Hannah has to understand that life isn’t always black and white. She learns that even if you follow the good book you need to watch out for fate and love coming from the world around you. Henry Lee fund a women he cannot live without. Which is a big surprise to him.
