I enjoyed it and kept re reading the last few chapters, really haunting
It’s been a long time since I read the series, but I really enjoyed them. I’ve always had an interest in Civil War history. My father could remember his grandmother telling them stories of “refugeeing” into the north Georgia mountains to escape Sherman’s march.
Excellent series
John Jakes is an author that truly makes you feel you are in the time period of the book. His attention to historical details is amazing. one will never be disappointed in reading his books.
Have all three books from this series. North and South, Love and War, and Heaven and Hell. Highly recommend them. Great read.
Read this years ago. Loved it and would highly recommend the series
It was a long book but it is the same as you would eat an elephant one page at a time and at the end it still done. It was a continuation of of the original book and made it quite interesting, but I was sure glad to get through it.
Jakes, another author whose books have provided me with many enjoyable hours of entertainment and a fresh perspective on the events of history.
