More on Hart Land Lakeside Inn:
Come and stay in one of the quaint and cozy cottages at Hart Land—but be warned, once you meet the family and delightful cast of characters, you may never want to leave.
Fiona Hart is the devoted matriarch. Elegant, wise, and arts patron, but despite all her efforts, she has yet to find her own artistic outlet. Lucy isn’t just a housekeeper, she’s part of the family. She also fancies herself a real life Dolly Levy, except she’s much better at cooking up trouble than the perfect match. Innkeeper and retired general Harold Hart believes in hard work, discipline, and whatever his beloved wife wants. Katie O’Leary runs the One Stop, makes the best Irish soda bread this side of the Blarney Stone, and no one is quite sure if it’s more than her baking that has the magic touch. Did we mention the Harts have nine granddaughters?
Having grown up spending summers together on the lake, the cousins are as close as sisters—closer. Each woman knows there’s no place like Hart Land. They can always count on their grandfather’s gruff, their grandmother’s sage advise, Lucy’s fresh baked cookies, Katie’s inspiration, the calming scent of fresh air—and each other.
Follow along with friends, family, neighbors, and guests as the Harts maneuver life’s curves, and just maybe find love along the way.

Fantastic read. I will definitely read more books by this author.
VERY BELIEVABLE AND ENTERTAINING.
An easy entertaining read
These are the best books I have read in a long time! Great storylines and happy endings. She is a great writer!
I like this author but found the bold placement of her name on every page after a chapter ended to be a bit distracting.
Immediately draws you in. Keeps you involved. Didn’t want to put the book down. Would read in the middle of the night it was so enjoyable.
Enjoyable
Heather is a Cardiac Surgeon and grew up by the lake with her sisters and cousins. Her grandparents are town staples. But she heard something going on in her grandfather voice when he called to see if she was coming up from Boston, she came early. Jake grew up there also and now runs the family hardware store. He’s understood her nose in books, but now they are both grown up.
Heather is book one in the Hart Land series. I love small-town romances, and Heather and Jake’s story had me hooked. Definitely one not to be missed.
Enjoyable!
The beginning to a new series by Ms. Keniston.
Heather is a very talented surgeon. She’s off to see her family and check in on her grandfather aka The General. Something is going on and she’s going to get to the bottom of it. But he won’t let her examine him whatsoever. No granddaughter of his is going to do any such thing even if she is a doctor. She asks for Jake who maybe can get through to him. No one can do it.
While she’s in town Jake and her get close. Where it goes we shall see…
Highly recommend…
Book 2-Lily and Book 3 Violet are out and must reads as well..
Chris Keniston has created another family series that touches your heart. Each book can be read as a stand alone but the characters do carry over from one book to another. The Preston family girls were all gifted with a flower name. Heather is the first story to be told.
Heather Preston is a cardiac surgeon but is getting overly stressed from her job. She doesn’t make it home very often to see her family but concern over her grandfathers health has her rearranging her schedule. She wants to fix whatever is wrong with him & head back to her job. Slower life in the small town starts to relax her & Jake starts distracting her.
Jake Harper runs the local hardware store & ends up being the local handyman for the ladies in town. He has no desire to leave town, even if he ends up alone. Small mishaps, a matchmaking grandfather & normal small town happenings keep throwing him together with Heather. Nothing can come of it since she’s heading back to the city, right?
Ms. Keniston has the small town atmosphere down perfectly. Heather & Jake keep running into each other & the little old ladies & the gossip circle keep them there. Heather needs to learn to slow down & realize what part of her job is important to her. Jake needs to realize that it’s ok to step out of his comfort zone. Heather has a close group of sisters & cousins that are important in each other’s life & they like to meddle as much as their grandfather. I really enjoyed this story & the interactions!
What is not to love about a dedicated, workaholic doctor and local hardware store owner, and add in sisters and cousins, a determined General, his wife and their housekeeper, and two four footed family members, there is romance in the air. There is nothing like a well-thought out campaign. Loved Chris Keniston’s new series so much that I quickly ordered the rest of the series to catch up with the sisters and cousins.
