Forced to wed to save her clan, Lady Rogan Cameron agrees to wed without love.
What her father doesn’t know is Lady Rogan has plans of her own—plans to keep her from a loveless marriage. Can she save the clan before she has to say “I do?”
Ian Albright abolished all ties to Scotland after his family betrayed him and he is now nursing a wounded ego due to an unfaithful fiancée. He pledges never … pledges never to return to his home until the fateful day he accepts an invitation to his dear cousin’s wedding. The minute he sees his cousin’s betrothed, his heart is captured. If only she didn’t belong to another . . .
Lady Rogan and Ian have known each other since they were young and bent on vexing each other. Now, the only thing they find vexing is the fact Rogan is betrothed to another. Together they fight their growing attraction while investigating the forces bedeviling the clan. Yet at every turn their foe appears and wreaks havoc. When tragedy strikes, their hopes are dashed again.
Can Lady Rogan and Ian’s love win when fate seems determined to keep them apart?

Rogan saw her dear friend William as she entered her father’s study. He handed her a tumbler of whiskey. “Rogan, lass, William and ye are bethrothed.” Rogan was at a loss of words and looked at her friend. “Surely you doona agree with this?”
Thus the journey began. The marriage was to help their clan since their harvest had been ruined and they had no stores through the winter. Cattle and horses were disappearing so they would get help from William’s clan.
Rogan was determined not to wed William. She had grown up with him and his brother Ian when they were toddlers and although William was handsome and strong, she loved him as a brother and she wanted to marry for love.
When Ian finally shows up after ten years being away, he could not believe what a beauty Rogan had become. When Rogan is attacked by an enemy clan and he saves her, he cannot help but becoming more attracted to her.. But he has a secret he cannot tell her and anyway she is marrying his cousin.
Could there be any hope for these two? A wonderful story of family, loyalty, enemies and strong emotions, I really enjoyed this story so much!

A book I enjoyed reading. Lady Rogan Cameron and Ian Albright’s story there is suspense, drama, danger, loyalty, intrigue, and romance.
Strong female lead with Rogan, the oldest and was supposed to be a son but nevertheless her father made her into a strong leader, as he said he made her think like a Laird to help protect and lead their clan. Ian know Rogan as kids with his cousin William, and Rogan has two other friends they all tricked and pranked each other. In the beginning Rogan is basically forced to wed her best friend William and she’ll try to get out of the betrothal the whole time, now when she reunites with Ian it was at first tempers fraying then real need was flying between these two but William is the groom to be and Ian is just the cousin. Ian has secrets that will devastate Rogan… Bit Ian is a history that will come back and put Rogan in need of rescuing. Will Ian become a real hero to Rogan’s clan and family or will the past win the power from her father???
Great interaction between characters. Unexpected ending.
beuatiful
Good story and no yucky sex to wade through.
I finished Heather in the Mist by Madelyn Hill. Three stars because the plot was decent. Everything else was pure rot. I don’t know what Hill was trying to convey, other than the fact that she researched Scottish vernacular for this book, but Scottish terms and phrases were scattered liberally throughout the book with attention drawn to them by italicization and the word ‘ken’ was turned into a verb and used so excessively I wanted to throw the book against a wall (but Kindle, so I didn’t). The lack of character development for the secondary characters made for a shoddy ending.
My overall experience with this book has me purging my digital TBR pile of anything Hill has written.
So good, likened to “Outlander”
I like books that have ending.
Enjoyable read
A wonderful Gothic romance, which you don’t find much of these days.
very very good
Always enjoy a fat moving romance.
Although it was not it wasn’t earth shaking, it was a smoothe read. Characters were believable and it held your interest til the end.
The editor needs to proofread this selection again, as there are a number of obvious errors. Rating would be higher if I didn’t have to reread due to grammatical errors.
I loved this book but I’m partial to Scottish romance books.
Loved it!
Loved the settings. It felt like you were there with them.
