Style and seduction collide in Jamie K. Schmidt’s Heat — sure to please fans of Fifty Shades of Grey — as the world’s best-dressed men and women shed their clothing… and their inhibitions.
On the run from her abusive fiancé, ER doctor Mallory Bryant arrives at her sister’s Connecticut resort desperate for a place to restore balance to her life. But Club Inferno is more than a haven for the … Club Inferno is more than a haven for the rich and fashionable. Beneath its elegant facade is an erotic playground where dominants and submissives play out their fantasies. At first, Mallory is wary of Max Spencer, the martial arts trainer acting as her bodyguard — until he introduces her to passion so intense she wants nothing more than to surrender to his touch.
As one of Club Inferno’s most skilled doms, Max enjoys taking Mallory to the limits of pleasure. It’s a dangerous proposition, and as their sensual games draw them into a relationship beyond the boundaries of pupil and master, Max starts spiraling out of control. But when Mallory’s violent past catches up with her, Max knows what he must do: draw her closer than ever before, even if it means risking a surrender of his own.
Heat is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

The story for me was a little slow start. After a few chapters it pick up. The love between Max and Mallory was felt in the pages. It brought out the abuse someone goes through with their spouse or lover. How the victim would feel and how someone who has been through it could help. The love of what sisters will do for each other.
I received a …
Mallory is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend. She comes to her sister for help. Max protects her,and real love blooms. Very good book, well written!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was more than an introduction to the bdsm lifestyle. Showing the difference between a loving caring relationship as to the damaged and fearful one Mallory was in before she met max.
They worked well to bring this story alive with the side characters only enhancing it. Can’t wait to read more of this series.
Max and Mallory will heat up your pages in this story. Mallory is in hiding from her abusive fiancé at her sisters. What she didn’t know was that her establishment is a front for a BDSM club and Mallory’s life is about to take on an evolutionary change. Max is the Dom who is put in charge of Mallory’s protection and she discovers that she likes …
This is the first book I’ve read by this author & I liked it but didn’t love it. Storyline was pretty good but at times boring. Found myself rushing thru it. It’s not your typical Dom & sub read. At times Max appeared to be a weak Dom. (Maybe he was too sensitive?). Definitely not the normal badass alpha character most doms are. I liked the …
This book was very different than I thought it would be from the name. There was not that much BDSM. It was actually pretty soft. The book revolves around the three main characters Max, Mallory, Colleen, and the Club Inferno. It really is worth reading.
i got what I paid for. I would recommend this book to lover’s of soft porn, this book has plenty of it.
Love Stuart Wood. They are easy to read but a little predictable.
Another typical Stuart Woods book – Twinkies for the mind.
Read Dec 2010 All Stuart Woods books are very good. Only problem expensive for me.
It Ain’t the Heat, it’s the Humidity. Stuart Woods, bestselling author of Santa Fe Rules and Foreign Affairs, proves once again he’s a great storyteller in Heat. Definitely a one-sitting read.
