This is the first book in the new series of the Russo Saga by Nicolina Martin, and it was absolutely fantastic! This book had a bit of everything, sex, intrigue, violence, mafia and even romance. The heroine Sydney, is a bit naive and a workaholic and Nathan, is a strong troubled alpha male, but somehow they fit perfectly together. If you love dark romance then this book is for you, it’s an absolute must read! I’m looking forward to more of the series.
Someothing was missing
Having read this author before I expected a great book, sad to report I been a bit disappointed.
Some of the scenes where unnesary just told for something to be said said in the characters POV, the inner monologue was also something I disliked, especially because the character did not coincide with what you’d imagine and while that can be refreshing as it can make a character unique in this case for my personal opinion it made our hero sound more out of balance.
The action was we’ll written and so was the scenery, sexy scenes with mild bdsm.
This book has the right amount of heat. It’s a tropical heat with wonderful defined characters and a great story.
So this is more like a 3.5 star rating for me. It took me awhile to get into this book. At first I couldn’t tell who was talking but soon things started falling into place for me. Nathan is a demanding man. He’s not very open about his job and Sydney is the opposite. She was telling him everything. They have a connection and can’t keep running into each other. Something was just off for me on this book. I’m not sure what it was.
