Virgil Flowers hunts a killer responsible for a strange string of murders in this thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author John Sandford. On a hot, humid summer night in Minnesota, Virgil Flowers gets a call from Lucas Davenport. A body has been found near a veterans’ memorial in Stillwater with two shots to the head and a lemon in his mouth—exactly like the body they found two weeks ago. they found two weeks ago.
Working the murders, Flowers becomes convinced that someone is keeping a list—with many more names on it. And when he discovers what connects them all, he’s almost sorry. Because if it’s true, then this whole thing leads down a lot more trails than he thought it did—and every one of them is booby-trapped.

Writing kept you guessing. It was an engaging read as the characters were entertaining and the locations are familiar.
Love this author and Midwest locations!
John Sandford is one of my favorite (and prolific) authors. Almost impossible to put down, Absolutely perfect at character development.
I like anything by Sanford
Virgil Flowers is the funnier side of Lucas Davenport, who makes the usual cameo appearance. Love this series, which is not as heavy as the “Prey” novels, but just as fun.
Predictably good.
Love John Sandford
Love all the books in this series
Virgil Flowers, what’s not to like. Great book!!
Sanford never disappoints.
Love most of John Sandford books. Got hooked on the Lucas Davenport series and it grew from there. One of the “prey” books introduced Virgil Flowers and got hooked on that series. Good read.
John Sanford never disappoints. Virgil Flowers is always a delight – this book is no exception. If you’re already a fan, be sure and pick this one up, and if you’re not yet acquainted with either Virgil Flowers or John Sanford, you should treat yourself and dive right in. My only complaint about these books? I read them so quickly (because they’re so good) I’m soon left wanting more.
Love that F….. Flowers.
All of his books are great.
Nobody tells a tale or develops characters like John Sandford. I love Virgil Flowers.
I really enjoy Virgil Flowers books. Easy escapist with a plot and good guys win. Interesting character.

Love the Virgil Flowers series. I always enjoyed the Davenport series, too, but these are my favorites by far. Full of humor, mystery, and personality.
