Callie McClain is back in Montana after a twelve year absence to care for her ailing father, despite the fact she can’t stand the cold and isolation. But in an ironic twist of fate, it seems Montana is finally giving her what she wants—blistering heat and a fiery glow that threatens to incinerate everything in its path. Wildfire. The only thing hotter than the advancing flames is the … smokejumper who comes to her rescue, and suddenly Callie is finding reasons why Montana might just have everything she’s ever wanted.
Tyler Dodson can’t recall a time when he didn’t want to be a smokejumper. There’s nothing as dangerous—or as exhilarating—as jumping, until he rescues a pretty veterinarian from an advancing wildfire. He knows he shouldn’t get involved. He doesn’t need that kind of complication in his life, and distractions of any kind can be deadly in his line of work. So why can’t he keep his mind – and his hands – off of Callie McClain?

Monterey vs Montana. The snowjumper and the Vet. This has a very exciting opening. It builds to a good story. There is a very good resolution. I enjoyed it.
Very good read
Really enjoyed reading!
These are two people love their jobs. They are attracted to each other but can not seem to find a way to be together. Happily, they find a way to work it out
Easy to read great descriptions.
I loved this story from beginning to end…great job.
Great book, held my interest.
This is a sweet contemporary romance. I really enjoyed it.
Love Karen Fowley’s books! Action packed with the Montana smoke jumpers and sentimental with the love story included. Family values are added with her father’s story of the wolf preserve. There was an attraction that built up and allowed the main characters to know each other before jumping into bed. I prefer Ms Fowley’s sexual descriptions as the scenes were explained without adding so much ridiculous raunchy scenes, so for this, I thank her!
Very enjoyable firefighter story.
good escape
This was a great story with wonderful characters. How could you not love a smokejumper like Tyler? He loves his dangerous job, jumping out of an airplane into forest fires. He’s strong, both physically and mentally, kind and thoughtful. While Callie was a strong, considerate woman, staying so long at the wolf rescue when a wildfire was moving toward them, was not the smartest idea. Luckily, smokejumpers got her and her father out just in time. Callie and Tyler couldn’t stop thinking about each other. Neither was looking for a relationship but didn’t want to miss the chance to get to know the other.
I recommend this book to romance readers. Especially if you like steamy reads with hot heroes in dangerous jobs.
I always enjoy a nice romance novel that shakes up the standard plot. Nice realistic characters. I enjoyed that they didn’t spend half the book denying their feelings. I would read more from this author.
Abrupt ending
Too sexy for me!
A quick relaxing afternoon read with wonderful characters. Callie and Tyler’s story kept me reading until the last page.
