Callie McClain is back in Montana after a twelve year absence to care for her ailing father, despite the fact she can’t stand the cold and isolation. But in an ironic twist of fate, it seems Montana is finally giving her what she wants—blistering heat and a fiery glow that threatens to incinerate everything in its path. Wildfire. The only thing hotter than the advancing flames is the … smokejumper who comes to her rescue, and suddenly Callie is finding reasons why Montana might just have everything she’s ever wanted.
Tyler Dodson can’t recall a time when he didn’t want to be a smokejumper. There’s nothing as dangerous—or as exhilarating—as jumping, until he rescues a pretty veterinarian from an advancing wildfire. He knows he shouldn’t get involved. He doesn’t need that kind of complication in his life, and distractions of any kind can be deadly in his line of work. So why can’t he keep his mind – and his hands – off of Callie McClain?

Exceptional! I couldn’t put it down!
I just finished this one today and I really loved it. The characters were mature and believable. I also learned a lot about fire jumpers and their bravery, as well as veterinary physicians who care for animals injured in fires.
loved it
A good read
Boring, the story moved to fast and a little vaguely
Interesting characters, suspenseful situation.
I REALLY LOVED READING THIS BOOK!!
A nice twist on an HEA plot. I enjoyed the characters and the settings.
I enjoyed this book. I would like for there to have been more about smoke jumping and less about sex, but that’s me.
Great story with fantastic characters and leaves you wanting to read the entire series !
A quick, fun read.
The story line was interesting and entertaining and kept my interest all the way to the very end.
The characters are likeable, and the description are enough to make the reader feel the thrill and the hardship involved in being a smokejumper.
I received a free copy of this book via BookBub and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“Heat” (nook) was an intense story with vivid descriptions of wildfires and those who fight them: including hot shots and smoke-jumpers. Ms. Foley’s words are a reminder that you evacuate wildfires when advised. In addition, the love story was marvelous. I like love-at-first-sight stories and HEA’s.

Drama and action packed, this sequel returns us back to the hectic life of the Glacier Creek forest station team and contains a brief introductory summary of the first two books as well as an attraction at first sight romance between divorced and disillusioned with marriage Tyler Dodson and the woman he saves, California veterinarian Callie McClain who is visiting her father at his wolf sanctuary.
