This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time.
This is an excellent book, I highly recommend it! I don’t normally read this type of story, but it was so good, I read it in one long day, cause I just couldn’t put it down. I appreciate that it was a very believable story. I also love the kick a$$ leading lady (hate books where you want to kick the leading lady’s a$$). Will definitely be looking at her other books.
I have to say Holly s. Roberts writes some great romance books. They just keep getting better with each book she writes. Madison used to be a police officer but now she’s a private investigator who specializes in everything on the right side of the law. She’s on a case when the ad guys show up. They’re after the same guy she’s after. So who’s going to win? There is a lot going on in this book so if you like a lot of suspense, action and hot sex, this is your type of book. I loved it!
I wanna chase me some Moon. The line between good and evil is indeed very fine. This book is about a young ex detective who turned P.I. I’ve experienced the reality of crime and law inside this story. Moon is a crime boss. Mak is the law. But the heart wants what it wants
Not all criminals are evil. Not all cops are good. The crux of this story will teach you exactly this. As always Holly Roberts delivered. Excellent read. I want it to have more than five stars
I read one of the later books in the series and was fascinated by it. That meant I had to go back and read the series from the beginning. it’s obvious that the many of the characters in the book I read knew each other, so I wanted to get the history of everything going on, including what turned a cop into the boss at an escort service.
Mak spent 3 years on the police force. She had to retire because she fell down and injured her shoulder while she was snowboarding, so she retired and ended up being a PI. One day, while following a cheating husband, she sees guys in suits confronting her target. She refuses to let them take him away immediately, but then the jerk pushes her over and she ends up with a concussion. One of the guys, Alex Gomez, brings her back to his base of operations and introduces her to his boss, Moon.
Catch Xavier Moon is the head of the Underworld in Arizona. He’s not a good guy, but he’s not a total bad guy. He’s described as a good guy who has to do bad things. He makes sure that certain crimes don’t happen because he thinks they are reprehensible. When Gomez brings Mak home with him, there’s something about her that fascinates him. The problem is that she refuses to be seen with him because he’s a criminal and she’s hoping to get back on the police force at some point. Moon doesn’t want to accept that because he’s way into her and he knows that she’s way into him.
There’s a lot of interesting things that happen in this book, and the hot sex is really almost the least of it. There are sneaky plans that are going around as well as bad guys who look like good guys. Excellent book.
One thing I really like about this series is that Roberts is a former cop, so she’s writing from a place that a lot of us don’t have access to. It’s pretty awesome.
Madison and Moon are an unusual, unlikely love story. He’s a bad guy with principles. She’s an ex-cop turned P I, who still believes in absolutes like all cops are good guys. Her ability to handle herself brings her onto Moon’s radar. She ends up getting caught in a turf war where dirty cops are involved. She and Moon cant keep their handa off one another despite the fact she strongly disapproves of what he does. The tide slowly turns in Moon’s favor the more Madison learns about him. She finally crosses the “can’t go back” line ane volunteers to work for Moon. You don’t always choos3 who your love and walking sometimes walking away isn’t an option.
Great story.
