Commitment is a four-letter word… but who wants to live with regret? When chopper pilot Chris Harris disrupts her wildlife stakeout, photographer Melissa Gilbert is furious. Known to be abrupt to the point of rudeness, it’s no surprise their confrontation is less than friendly. What was surprising was the invitation that followed. It’s a case of yin and yang attract, luring both from their comfort … from their comfort zone. Does that mean Chris will tolerate irrational behaviour? Some people know when to cut their losses and move on.
Melissa’s journey as a photographer takes her from a remote Australian station, to the high fashion world of Sydney and beyond. Caught up in a family crisis, she is forced to question everything she believed to be true about those closest to her.
It takes more than those challenges to keep a strong woman down. Is it too late to recover what she has lost?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this romance. It is set in Australia and the author does an excellent job of transporting you there. The characters are believable and feel real. I think I will read the rest of the series as the author does a fabulous job weaving a realistic modern day romance!
Disclaimer: I won this book in a giveaway on Goodreads. I probably would never have read it, if I hadn’t won. What a blessing I did!
I liked this story for the most part. There were times when the story got bogged down in too much detail in the scenes. The relationship between Chris and Melissa was comfortable and touching as they learned about each other. Melissa’s family drama caught her unaware, but I liked how she accepted the news and tried mending fences with her father. Chris was romantic and patient though I thought Melissa may be pushing too hard.

This story is your sweet romance that Has the aspects of fear of commitment and second chances. It truly will pluck your “heartstrings” as you read it from front to back. The author does an amazing job of setting the story and creating a world you can envision. From the high rise to the country plains, this story will keep everyone engrossed from the beginning to end.
Melissa was raised with privilege and sent to boarding schools. Her mother died when she was very young. She never felt like she fit in with the people in town. As an adult she is a professional photographer, but her father doesn’t understand it and wishes she would want to take over the ranch. She meets a contractor that flies a helicopter to help muster the cattle when needed. They are like opposites, but opposites attract and their chemistry is off the charts no matter how hard as she tries to fight it. The story is well developed and has many twists and turns. It is a very good book with well-developed characters and story plot.

Heart Strings is a stand-alone read in Emily Hussey’s Red Centre series, and a great choice if you enjoy Aussie romance with strong characters, interesting story lines and more than a dash of sweet yet steamy chemistry!
This is the third book in a series, and is a great addition by this talented author. Chris is a chopper pilot, and Melissa is a photographer. These two are total opposites, yet they are perfect together with undeniable chemistry between them. This is a well written story which has a twist I did not predict. I recommend for all readers.
Book 3 in Emily’s series lives up to everything we love in the previous two – engaging characters we care about and a fabulous depiction of life in Australia’s red centre.
