With his god-like physique, pure blue eyes, and chiseled jawline, he might be the hottest guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. A total heartstopper.
The man’s probably a player. Then again, maybe that’s what I need—a man who knows what he’s got, knows how to use it, and knows how to make me scream to the heavens.
Screw it. You only live once.
But when I go in Monday morning to meet my new boss, I’m greeted by that same irresistible smile.
And Mr. Stone is making it perfectly clear that strictly professional is not in his vocabulary.
Heartstopper is a full-length Romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!more
Really great read. I enjoyed reading Roxy and Jake’s story and love seeing Brianna, Gavin, Mindy & Oliver. Roxy gave up her dream of singing but Jake will do anything to have her dream come true. As you read you can feel the love, heartbreak and every emotion that Roxy and Jake go through. Great story and can’t wait to read the next book in this series
ARC review For honest review. Roxy and Jake meet the nightclub Jasmine that he’s part owners .Jake starts working at also at Franklin consolidate where she works. He also has a 16yrs old sister that he takes care of, is a man of many talents and Jake helps Roxy make her dreams come true too. Awesome.
Roxy and Jake are absolutely pitch perfect! She went back to school and has now taken a soul sucking office job, but hey at least the bills are getting paid…In desperate need to let loose a little she is going out for a night on the town and plans to tear it up and burn it down! Enter Jake Stone just the dishy piece of man cake she needs to make the 9-5 deary life she leads slightly more bearable. They mutually decide to gigolodownlo, but when the time come to seal the deal it seems that Roxy’s prowess is very potent and almost kills her would be paramour and in fleeing the scene she inadvertently robs him – so all in all not her best encounter! She decides it’s just best to forget the whole thing, return the wallet somehow, and move on with her life. Planning on doing just that she arrives for work only to find that her new boss is none other than Jake in all his glory and he has no intention of letting Roxy slip through his fingers again. Jake is a no nonsense man. Since his parents passing and taking responsibility for his sister he had to grow up quickly and in doing so knows he has to make firm and cautious decisions. So then why in the world did he open a nightclub is the question he asks himself almost daily. He knows they have a plan and it’s going to work, but he is still on edge. He has his sister’s future to think about. When an Angel walks into his club he is helpless to ignore her. When that Angel joins him for an intimate tête-à-tête he is ecstatic. When that Angel apparently robs him and leaves him drugged in the backroom he is mystified (but positive there is a reasonable explanation). When that Angel turns out to be assistant at his new job he floored. One thing is absolutely certain she is his Angel and he is not letting her get away. He wants to help Roxy find the way back to her dreams. In doing so he just might find a way to find a way to make all of his come true.
Heartstopper by Lauren Landish a palpating five star read. This is a standalone romance with a HEA, but if you have read Anaconda and Mr Fiancé then you may recognise a couple of the characters and a certain red dress, that brings to my mind a grown-up version if the sisterhood of the travelling pants vibe. (I secretly pray I could borrow the mythical dress) This book will make you giggle and have your heart sinking as well as fluttering with god feeling.
Roxy Price has spent the last 10 months of her life being a grown up, working hard to get a promotion and saying goodbye to her dreams, she used to sing in a club on weekend nights, but after being told she wasn’t good enough she went back to school and got a real job, as she won’t mooch of no one. Roxy is her own woman, she knows what she wants and needs and plans to get it. After 10 long and lonely months, she needs someone to relive the tension and when a superhero steps in he seems perfect. Until Roxy meets her new boss on Monday morning and it’s the superhero in a suit Jake Stone.
Jake knows what he wants and he plans to do what he needs to get it, and he has no problems with professional boundaries and strictly business isn’t something he plans on sticking too, is Rosy strong enough to resist?
I enjoyed reading Heartstopper. A little redundant but still an easy read.
