I am super sad its the final book for Dante Santiago! that being said what a way to end the trilogy. It was unpredictable with tones of action there was so many twist and turns it had my head spinning
and leaving you wanting to keep turning the page.
Hearts on fire is a dark mafia trilogy but also my top favorite ever book out of thousands i have read. Devoured this trilogy in 24hrs with zero sleep because i was to addicted every time i tried to put it down to sleep it consumed me so id pick it back up!
The chemistry between Dante and Eve is scorching but we got a little bit more of joseph and anna and im also about to dive right on into there world and i can wait
5 huge amazing well deserved stars catherine you a legend
Hearts on Fire is everything that I needed to see in Dante and Eve’s story. Their love knows no bounds. The angst will have you clawing at your chest. The Santiago series is a must read. You are surely missing out by not reading it. I hope Joseph gets his HEA.
“She’s my moon, but a total eclipse of my darkness is blocking her light out again. I thought the worst was over. I thought I could control it. The future was a shifting possibility, yet it was ours for the molding.”
Sheer Brilliance! I’m feeling a little bereft it’s over, would someone please hand me a bourbon. I’m not sure how I’d feel if I read this book as a stand-alone, but it was a superb way to end the trilogy. I found myself entranced in the pages of Dante and Eve’s story. I’m gobsmacked, left speechless and angered by these men who lack humanity. They will fall into the bowels of the earth, dragging the innocent into hell with them.
Locating and retrieving Anna takes precedent. Dante has to eat some humble pie and join forces with the very man he swore to never share an allegiance. Eve is hell bent on joining them, but she is hiding something. We go back in time to Dante and Joseph’s military days. Revealing their history, makes their relationship so much clearer. Their bond is closer than any brother could be. It seems their are some leaks, because Sevastian and his men are always a step ahead. With so many players, deciphering who the mole’s are isn’t easy. Often they are right under our nose, hiding in plain sight. Eve is torn between Dante and her family. Will she choose the right side or will this be the end of them?
Epic conclusion to the Santiago series! Eve and Dante both have completely captured my heart and soul. Their bloodlust, their darkness and their light. I’m looking forward to reading about the integral supporting characters lives in upcoming books.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I’m having a hard time with Dante. I don’t believe him. I feel like he is so one-sided. Usually the alpha behind closed doors almost submits to the woman he loves mentally if not physically. Not Dante, I swear he is only in love with f*cking Eve. All he wants to do is have sex with her, there isn’t even romance or conversation. He barely opens up to her. I just don’t understand the connection. I know in Book 2 and Book 3 we have been getting flashbacks but it isn’t enough. It wasn’t enough to learn about him before he became this person. I mean he was just as cold in the family and military flashbacks. I was hoping he would become somewhat human. I was disappointed.
Once you start there is no way of putting this down its like a drug and so addicting. Dante Santiago is everything you should fear and run from and want to run to all at the same time he is one intense captivating sexy Man he had me walking the floors while I was reading I was so nervous and laughing out loud at the same time as Eve his Angel has her voice and opinion and the banter these two have as foreplay is everything you ever dreamed of in the word HOT!!! We see a lot of danger and nail biting moments also the past and sacrifice and it is truly one of the best stories I have ever read and is my favorite by far with the character development and the words god the words are perfection and so detailed its like watching a movie on the sidelines its that real and I didn’t want it to end I could read forever about these two. Bravo!!!!!
Hearts on Fire by Catherine Wiltcher is book Three in The Santiago Trilogy. This continues the story of Dante Santiago and Eve Miller, so you really need to read the previous books ‘Hearts Of Darkness’ and ‘Hearts Divine’ to fully enjoy this book.
I am normally not to big a fan of Trilogies but their story for me was a page turner, so I didn’t mind it a all. Dante has been the hard/harsh hero who doesn’t bend and slow to give in to love but once he crossed over he he wasn’t letting her go. I Love stories like this, so maybe that is why I loved this sires. so much. I would recommend this author and this series.
What an extraordinary ending to the Santiago epic! This author has become true favorite and an automatic one click. She has clearly planned every step of this story until we finally see the end of the Dante Santiago ‘s chapter. I say chapter because there’s no way he’s going to stay as content as he is at the end of the book.
We pick up where book 2 ends. Santiago and crew are determined to cut down Sevastian Petrov’s ring of kidnapped women. There are twists and turns, and alliances shift constantly. Even Santiago’s friendship with Joseph Grayson is tested. We also get the background on Grayson’s history with Santiago, who gives critical insight on this story and Dante Santiago ‘s mindset.
Dante Santiago is a fascinating character, and Wilcher writes him with no apologies. Even in the middle of chaos, he’s the same arrogant, uptight, sexually aggressive alpha male that keeps everyone he cares about on a metaphorical leash. He says things like:
“I may be a monster but I’m not a total dick.”
“You know how much killing turns me on, wife.”
“I stopped feeling.” He lets go of my chin and takes a step back, eyes burning bright. Feverishly. “But you’re like a power surge, my angel. You walked into my life and everything switched back on. Now I’m left dealing with the fall-out of thirty-eight years of bad living and immorality.”“Dante–”“I don’t regret killing her as much as I should. As much as you’d like me to feel. Why? Because every life I’ve taken has led me one step closer to you.”
Eve continues to be Santiago ‘s center of gravity. She believes in him, even when he doesn’t believe in himself:
‘i haven’t tamed Dante. I’ve made him feel. I’ve made him strive for something other than death. My hand drifts to my stomach again. If he comes back to me tonight , I’ll make him believe in life. “
