Let me just start this review off by saying I actually had to message the author during reading as I was completely flabbergasted at the way it made me feel.
They went like this : Damnit Mary I can’t even breathe I’m crying so hard. I forgot what this book was about. How you write such horrible situations with the perfect intensity with how people feel in these horrific situations blows my damn mind!
Ya I just finished chapter 15 if you didn’t figure it out.
And finally : Gah. And again basically the last 2 chapters. You certainly know how to play with my emotions!!!
Yes, my fellow readers, quite literally had to wait for my eyes to clear to finish reading. As I stated in my messages above I do not understand how she writes these horrible situations so well. With this insane ability to perfectly word how it feels on both sides of the coin and pull every possible emotion out of you is quite amazing. Well done Mary Crawford!! Well done.
I loved this story. The characters, their occupations, their families and the trials they face.. it was all super impactful and well put together. I couldn’t put the book down! This series is awesome. Each book is standalone but you see the characters returning and reading them together it’s just like one big family.
This was not my fav book. Too much drama not much story. Ends ok but just didn’t love this story or the characters.
A very intriguing story that catches your interest and holds it through many twists and turns until the very end! It’s hard to put down, but exciting to pick back up as you can’t guess what is going to happen next. Can’t wait to read the next story in this series by an extremely talented author! Have to go look for it now. Join me in reading this series and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Beautiful
Another touching story in this series. Each story has brought up different subjects that people deal with on a date basis and they make you think and touch you right to the core of the matter.
The storyline was great with wonderful characters. Good read.
Very realistic and the relationship was very genuine.
I tried really hard to read this book and I usually make a commitment to finish a book but in this case I couldn’t. I kept thinking I was missing some pages of something. Scenes would change in the middle of a chapter with no transition, the characters develops this romance under cover or something because I couldn’t figure out when and why their relationship became more serious and they became a committed couple. I admire the author for taking on the difficult topic of suicide and it’s aftermath for families but that wasn’t enough to keep my attention or make me finish the book
The story was interesting and good, the only problem was that it seemed to drag on too much for me and I got tired of it. I did finish it, however I doubt I’ll read another book.
Cover: Gorgeous, fits fairly well. Professionally done.
Formatting: BEAUTIFUL.
Characters:
Well developed. Brilliant. Consistent – even with the little peaks we got at them in the past books of the series. Right on!
The story:
This is Crawford’s best book yet, in my opinion.
Jade is a fun character to read because she’s an artist… a few of the characters we meet in this series are artists but what’s interested in Jade is, it’s not her passion. To have that skill and not even want it seems crazy… but she’s very level-headed, down to earth. Just has other dreams for herself.
Even though her appearance would be described as bold, she’s reserved. She’s a great example of why not to judge a book by her cover. I’d read an entire series about just her.
Crawford’s descriptives in this book are on point. The usual drama found in her books is still different – she never runs out of ways to keep us entertained, it seems. The romance is a good one. Love that it takes place in Florida – just a personal bonus.
This one sucked me way in, I missed it when I had to put it down. When I read lines like, “It was the worst pain I’ve ever felt…” I was brought back to my own pain – not much does that for me. This one is really well done.
I feel like Crawford’s writing is improving before my eyes and I’m impressed.
That’s no easy feat.
Overall, highly recommend. You can read this as part of its series OR a standalone, as it will not leave you hanging or in the dark.
