A ROLLERCOASTER OF ENEMIES TO LOVERS WITH YOUR FAVOURITE ANTI-HERO! “She doesn’t know it yet, but she is already his.” He kidnapped me.That was how I met Atlas Hyde.A man known by many names and admired by all.But most didn’t know he was ruthless, conniving, and always got what he wanted. No matter the cost.I was a good girl.Never in trouble with the law.Never … wanted.
No matter the cost.
I was a good girl.
Never in trouble with the law.
Never took drugs.
Always did precisely what was expected of me.
Even with his hand around my throat and words that cut sharper than knives, I couldn’t help but wonder what happened to this beautiful man to make him that way.
That wonder disappeared when he threatened to kill my sister if I didn’t follow his dark demands.
The good girl I once knew had now been buried alive beneath this game of hatred and lust.
And I had a feeling Atlas Hyde never lost.

I went in this book blindly without any expectation, I had previously read only one book by TL Smith I have an idea about authors writing style and I have enjoyed the book . I really enjoyed this book and was sucked into the story from the moment I started the story. The author knows how to write and captivate readers attention. The plot wasn’t too different and I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much but TL Smith has made it interesting and engaging. Theodora meets Atlas when he kidnaps her and blackmails her . I loved Theodora was not weak but strong character & Atlas character well he had his moments. Overall it was a fantastic read. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the duet.
Liked this read, it was actually a really good book. Lots of drama and action. From start it had me pulled in. Well done
Holyshiiiit !! This was so freaking good ! This is a must read guys !!! T L. Smith delivers a thrilling, addicting and a whole lot of sexiness story of Thea and Atlas that will keep you begging for more ! The Author literally played my emotions very well here ! I was getting deeply attached by both characters when suddenly.. bam !! I was still on the edge and suddenly my mind was everywhere after I read this . I’m so restless thinking bout what would happen next ! Up untill now I can’t still move on!! Pls.. Author do the book two ! I’m dying here !
This was my first book of T.L. Smith and definitely won’t be my last. If you want some exciting enemies-to-lovers, dark romance this book was definitely just right for you.
“Heartbreak Me” was FIRE!!! This was my first book from T.L. Smith; what an introduction!!! I devoured this book in one sitting. It was so good, and I felt like it ended too soon!
Theadora finds herself in a bad situation courtesy of her half-sister. She’s the only family she has, so she’s been righting her wrongs for many years. This time she messed up with some really bad people and they came for Thea. She’s to work her sister debt off, doing whatever is asked of her.
Atlas Hyde is a really powerful man. His reputation proceeds him, and everyone knows of him. Theadora’s sister stole form him, so he came to her for payback. What comes as blackmail, becomes an obsession. He’s intrigued by her, especially by the fact that she doesn’t cower easily. Even though she knows he’s dangerous, she fights him.
Their chemistry is off the charts. So many things are going on, but I could still feel the attraction pouring from my kindle! Atlas is dark, mysterious, and cruel at times. He’s possessive of her and considers her his. However, his actions don’t really show that! I despised Theadora’s sister, all she did was dragging her down.
I was left with many questions and not really sure what happened at the end. I desperately need the next book soon. I need to find out what will happen next!!!
Thea is kidnapped by Atlas to pay off her sister’s debt. Atlas is the ultimate anti hero, he has never known kindness or mercy so he will not give it to anyone. He sets tasks for Thea but she isn’t the weak, timid woman he thinks she is and fights back. These two are sizzling with sexual chemistry. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.
This story captivated me right from the start and I didn’t put it down till I was finished! Heartbreak Me was dark and intense story with complex characters and a ending I didn’t see coming! Loved the chemistry between Theadora and Atlas they have nothing in common but the intense attraction couldn’t be ignored . Definite must read and definite 5 stars from me! And ugh that ending I was not expecting!!! I NEED BOOK 2 ASAP !!!
***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
“You can’t hate me when I leave…
I will leave and you can’t hate me then.”
OMG that cliffhanger!!!!! I really need the next one ASAP pleaseeee!! This book was so intense, full of drama, steam and a lot of questions, I’ll have anxiety for sure and I will be hunting the next on this amazing duet!!
Thea has always done things right, every step she took was on the good side and in the right path; but having Lucy as her sister can only drag problems to her doorstep, so the inevitable happens and she ends doing a deal with the devil himself just to save Lucy.
Atlas Hyde is a powerful man, a dangerous, ruthless, mystery man; the moment Thea accepted his deal he thought he had everything under control, but nothing could be farther from the truth, she is everything good but he is everything evil, something must go wrong when two opposites attract.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the way an author writes is the key to making me fall in love or hate a story; within the first chapters I can totally connect or not with a story; the writing must be light, fresh and even the way the characters interact is everything in a book and this one got me hooked in the very first ones!!
This was a page turning 5 star must read. It’s a darkish romance with the right amount that I enjoy.
Theadora is paying for her sisters sins. Atlas wants someone to pay for what was stolen from him.
This was an highly addicting first part of a duet. I was so enthralled with this story that I basically read it in one sitting. An amazing storyline with great characters. I can’t wait for more.
This is part one of a duet. Told in a dual POV. I strongly recommend this book.
The author took some intense characters and created a world that had me feeling every emotion possible and leaving me hanging on the edge of my seat. Atlas is such a huge jerk and we first meet him when he has Thea kidnapped, he sees something in her that he likes but refuses to acknowledge so he is a major jerk for most of the book. There were moments when I wanted to throat punch Atlas and moments when I wanted to slap Thea to stand up for herself a little more especially when it came to her sister. These two are total opposites and Atlas feels Thea should pay-off her sister’s debt to him so he uses her as he sees fit, but their attraction is very tangible. They hate each other but can’t get enough of each other, but with Atlas’ aloofness and messed up background can he let himself feel for the first time or will he keep holding grudges that are completely made up in his mind? How will Thea handle her new situation she finds herself in and will she ever be able to look at Atlas again without hatred in her eyes? I have so many questions because this book does end on a cliffhanger but I was enthralled and pulled into their story, I’m dying to know how things will go in the next book.
Rating:
Dark blackmail romance!
I enjoyed this dark romance which started out as a captive romance but ended up being more of a blackmail romance. The Hero, Atlas is owed over a million dollars from the heroine Theadora’s sister. Atlas is holding the sister, Lucy and threatens to kill her if Theodora doesn’t pay him back the money. She can’t pay, so he has her work it off by doing tasks for him.
Atlas has his hands in a lot of illegal activity and owns some legitimate businesses as well, the main one is a Casino he built from the ground up. He likes to always know what his enemies are up to and he uses people like Lucy and Theadora to his advantage. Like having them distract big winners at the casino so they start losing, or attend society functions and listen in on conversations of his rivals. He is not above having a woman use her body to get information he needs.
Atlas grew up with only his father after his mother left when he was just a baby. His father was abusive and merciless and Atlas vowed never to be like his father. He has rules to live by and he never gets involved with women other than for immediate gratification. However, his attraction to Theadora threatens his rules.
Atlas is brutal and cruel but also super hot. He is tall, tatted and tantalizing, a combination which Theadora finds herself attracted to despite herself, even though she wants him out of her life as quickly as possible. Atlas proves to also be very possessive and when he considers something his, he doesn’t allow anyone to get in his way.
The book certainly held my interest the entire time. The romance was steamy but not as steamy as many dark romance books I have read. I give it a heat index of three out of five flames (). However the storylines about Thea’s sister and Atlas’s fear of commitment were extremely good. I didn’t completely understand one part of the ending though. Hopefully my questions will be answered in the next book. It was a cliffhanger so it should pick up right away.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
I’m Salivating!!! This Is an Intense dark romance and I need more! Kidnapped by a man named Atlas Hyde. Theadora Fitzgerald is taken because of her sister’s debt. Can she do what Atlas asks of her? Who is this enigma of a man & what does he really want with her? From the very first sentence you will be taken on a wild ride of unadulterated fierceness and passion. Atlas sizzles of the pages he is so hot! An outstanding enemies to lovers dark romance. Get ready for the anti hero of the year! This does end in quite the cliffhanger so be warned. Told in dual POV
This is the first book I have read by T.L. Smith and it will not be my last. The first book in the Heartbreak Duet had me hooked! I do not know how I missed this author and I plan to rectify that once I finish the next book in this duet.
“Lucy stole over a million dollars from me, Theodora. You will help me get that back. Or else Lucy will forget to breathe.”
I have read a book recently similar to this storyline that I liked so I was not going into this book thinking it could match that. I was wrong. The one thing I tend to hate about dual POV’s is knowing too much of the hero’s feelings too soon especially when you have a dark romance like this. Luckily, that was not the case here. While we got both POV’s, Atlas’ feelings for Thea was not fully shown and we were left in the dark just at Thea was.
A devil doesn’t show his hand. He plays his cards until the winning hand is revealed. I think she may be my favorite playing card yet. And I plan to play every move possible when it comes to her.
The plot in this book had me on the edge of my seat. At no point was I ever comfortable with the status of Atlas and Thea’s “relationship.” I do not mean this in a bad way. I was so invested in this story that I could not put the book down. The plotline was not just about the characters getting together but there was depth that kept the reader intrigued the whole time.
When his lips touch me, I feel like I’m on fire, and the only way to put me out is with him. Only him.
I wanted to slap Thea and tell her that her sister probably would not have gone this far for her, but you have to respect her loyalty. I love that she was a strong heroine. While she was being forced into this situation, she did stand up for herself and most likely would have helped Lucy whether she was forced to or not. Lucy must be the worst sister in history, and I have a feeling this will not be the last we see of her.
I feel like although Thea was giving Atlas a chance, she was not going into this thinking it would ever be anything real. I wish we got to know more about her past to make her this way. She is not your typical heroine thinking that the hero will fall for her. There is a hardness to her, and she is not the type of woman who will let you have her heart easily. I hope we get to see more into her past in book two.
“Heartbreak me, and I will heartbreak you, Atlas Hyde. I’ve had enough of that to last me a lifetime, and the next time someone hurts me, I won’t sit by idly and just let them.”
Atlas was like a puzzle to me. Every time I thought I knew how he felt he would do something that would make me question everything. It was obvious that he wanted Thea, but I could never tell whether it was just as a possession or if he cared about her. That is what made this book so good. I felt so many emotions and I imagine it will continue in the next one.
“When something is mine, no one can have it, want it, or even think about hurting it.”
I was a little thrown off by how I pictured Atlas and the cover model. He is not hard on the eyes, do not get me wrong but I just imagined him to look bigger and more intimidating. Besides that, I loved this book. That cliffhanger had me angry, upset, asking so many questions and anxious to start book two. Luckily, I was able to start it right away or else I do not know how I would have waited.
This book is a huge surprise. I never expected this amazing story. Atlas and Thea are surprising together. Both of them don”t want to like each other but there is a connection that can’t be denied.
When Thea sister steals money from Atlas, he comes to collect. What they both don’t expect is the connection they have to each other. Thea is everything her sister isn’t which draws Atlas in. As the book progresses you see the change in Atlas. He transforms from asshole to a protector. He wants to protect her from the bad in the world until the bad comes to her door.
Heartbreak Me is the first book in the Heartbreak duet and it is a great start to this amazing story.
I read this freakin’ spellbinding book from cover to cover in one sitting because I literally could not put it down. Fantastic writing, dark and compelling, and hot as heck. Atlas is a bad guy but he’s not irredeemable. His chemistry with Thea is out of this world. I love her because she is strong and smart and not afraid to speak her mind. That sister of hers is a piece of work though. My mind is still processing everything that happened and I can’t believe book two is a month away! Awesome read!
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Another fantastic book from T.L. Smith! I knew when I read the blurb that this was going to be a must read, and I was right. This very well may be my favorite book from this author thus far. I found it impossible to put down once I started reading.
I was hooked! I can’t believe I have to wait for the next book because I am on edge just needing to know what happens next. This is intense and emotional and sexy all at the same time.
Wow oh wow! I am stunned. I tried reading this all in one sitting. But when my phone dropped on my face for the 5th time. I knew it was time to fall asleep. I loved Thea’s character. Her take no sh*t attitude. She always told you what was on her mind. She always gave back what she got. I admired her strong spirit. Atlas was one tough nut to crack. It amazes me how he is straight to the point and still has not managed to get killed. I truly loved this book and cannot wait to see what will happen next. Please don’t Heatbreak me.
A totally unexpected read that brought the feels to a whole new level. This new release is appropriate titled with its intense characters chemistry that brought the enemies to lovers genre to a sizzling journey. Atlas was an intense, powerful character and it takes a woman like Thea to take him down. What happens next made for an addicting read that will have you flipping the pages until the end. Fortunately there’s more to their story that you will be wishing you have now with such a tease of an ending. Can’t wait for more!
This was such a great read. I enjoyed the characters, the storyline and most of all the pace of the story. There was never a dull moment. Atlas is known as the man to fear. However, I thought that when it came to Theadora he let his guard down and showed his softer side every now and then. He never went about it the right way all of the time but there was definitely a difference between the way he interacted with her and the way he did with others. Theadora gave up a lot to help her sister Lucy and Lucy didn’t deserve any of it. Lucy was spoiled, jealous, full of secrets and the most ungrateful person. Nicholas actions at the end of this story was a huge surprise. I never suspected him to be so ruthless. This cliffhanger ending was good but Atlas actions left me a bit stunned. I could not understand how he blamed Nicholas actions on Theadora but I’m looking forward to how she deals with him.
Wow talk about being drawn in right from the start! When I think I may have figured something out, a twist comes. This is a good book. Atlas is easy to love and hate at the same time. And I love that Thea stands her ground. Atlas kidnaps Thea so that she’ll pay for the debt that her sister owes him. He works out an arrangement with a Thea to do things for him to work off the debt. He slowly starts to show his good side when he starts developing feelings for her. And she is starting to feel the same way. But Atlas warns Thea that he will only hurt her. I hate that it’ll be another month for the second party. I have to know what happens!
