Heart of the AjsShe has magic she cannot use … Time.
TRINITOS, third planet, is home to the sky gate and the wicked man who controls its use—the Ajs An’hlj. He is yunfah—a wind walker—one who can control the air itself. The only thing he covets more than control is power, and he has his sights set on Nafisa.

This book is written by an author that I have not read before. Sci-fi is definitely not my favorite genre at all. I found this a bit hard to follow and all the unique names and such were hard for me to keep track of. Plus really hard to know how to pronounce them.
If you’re into science fiction then this is a wonderful representation of that genre and I think you’ll love it. I don’t think it’s quite what I would let my teenagers read or I think they would like it.
I think this is a well-written book with a great plot and underlying message. That said it’s just not my cup of tea. If you love science fiction I think you will find this to be an amazing book that you can’t put down.

This story captured my attention from the moment I began to start reading this first book in the Six World saga. Powers she can not use and does not completely understand at the beginning of the book came to life as I started reading. The dynamics and world-building kept my attention. I wanted to see how the story would turn out. Although this story is relatively short, it has a lot to say and a lot of lessons to teach.
I feel like I will read the next books in the series to find out more about this saga. Delving into the idea of good versus evil, this book does an excellent job of portraying the difference between the two.
So check out this book for yourself. I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.
This may be a quick read but it sure has some powerful lessons in it. I loved Nafisa and how humbled she was. As a princess she had powers that others wanted to use for evil. I was so upset when her father said she had to marry someone who only wanted to gain her special gift. Why would her father do something that would surely seal her fate?
I loved the description of the planets and felt myself front and center aboard a spacecraft. It as a bit unnerving when Nafisa is bound to the Ajs in marriage. We don’t always know what God’s plans are but He always protects us. Nafisa wavered in her faith for just a moment like many of us do. We look at our circumstances and feel it is hopeless. I loved the story and hope the author will continue with a follow up book. It is a good example of trusting God and having faith even though it may look like disaster is about to happen. I have to mention how beautiful the cover of the book is. It really helps readers visualize Nafisa.
