Single mom Bristol Quinn is trying desperately to rediscover happiness after the tragic accident that took her younger sister’s life. Older sister Savannah’s Christmas wedding seems like the perfect time to invite Hope’s heart recipient to meet the Quinns and their extended Hope Falls family. But when her letter goes unanswered, Bristol focuses on trying not to ruin her daughter’s peewee ice … peewee ice hockey team’s season with her pathetic lack of knowledge. And when sexy stranger Beau scrapes her off the ice and offers to teach her to skate and coach, Bristol hopes her luck is finally turning around.
Once Beau gets his first good look at Bristol—saving a life no less—he knows that his future has just changed. Will she forgive him for lying when she finds out his real reason for coming to Hope Falls?
When the truth comes out and Beau crashes the wedding, Bristol is determined to ignore him until he disappears again. But this time he’s got the whole town on his side helping him orchestrate the Christmas surprise of a lifetime.

I have never loved crying as much as I loved sobbing through this book. HEART OF HOPE was EVERYTHING – funny, sweet, steamy, heart-wrenching and beautiful.
Five RE-READ THIS EVERY YEAR stars!
HEART OF HOPE by Lucy Score. Single mom Bristol is busy learning hockey, feeding an entire town breakfast every morning, and trying to forget just how much she misses her sister. Everyone else seems to be moving forward except her. Then a sexy stranger arrives in town and turns into a worthy distraction. Beau French got reasons for coming to Hope Falls, for spending time with Bristol and her family. Big, secret reasons. HEART OF HOPE will punch you with a small-town Christmas happily ever after with a hockey hottie trying to do the right thing along with a precocious 8-year-old scheming for her mom’s happiness, a big, beautiful family fumbling their way through grief, and the best dang Christmas Eve grand gesture ever. Keep a box of tissues handy. You’re gonna need it.
I can never get enough of Lucy Score’s characters or stories. As usual, this one doesn’t disappoint!
Man, I LOVE Lucy Score– she sucks me in to her stories and I am HOOKED from the first few chapters. The first chapter I will be honest, I definitely teared up and had to put my phone down for a second to compose myself (I was reading at work). Anyways, I loved this book!
First book by this author for me. I thought she did a great job capturing the first year of grief after losing a loved one-the incredible suck of each holiday and birthday without him or her. The Quinn’s were loved thru their grief by their town and ultimately by Beau and his sister.
My favorite quote “When you’re a parent, you know that bad things can happen. That’s why all mothers are insane. We live with the constant fear that something might happen to our kids.“ perfectly summed up motherhood.
Great well written characters here. Bristol’s advice to Evan’s sister about living her life, not the expectations of others was perfectly rendered. It was a pleasure seeing 8 year old Violet actually written as an 8 year old.
Read this book over the course of late Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day and it was a perfect way to end and begin my holiday.
Heart of Hope was a beautiful and moving love story that had me experience so many emotions. I can not imagine needing to make such an enormous decision within minutes, knowing the many lives that can be saved but at the same time trying to grieve the tremendous loss.
Bristol and Beau’s journey to their happily ever after was a bit bumpy. There are some secrets that Beau held and the more time they spent together it was getting harder and harder for him to keep them. His reasoning was valid, but when Bristol was finally aware of his initial reason for being in Hope Falls, it was very difficult for her to forgive him. But there was no need to fear, the community was rooting for Beau and they were all determined to see their HEA.
I loved this book so much, the love of family was so strong as was the support of this small town. I cried, laughed and swooned, I can’t ask for more than that in a novella!
Get your Kleenex out for this amazing poignant story of tragedy that brings people together and grows into an epic love story. I’ve reread this book many times, it is so wonderfully writte and has so much emotional content as well as funny and steamy moments. Definitely recommend if you love a sexy, emotional story!
This was another great Lucy Score book! Every time you pick up one of her books you know you aren’t going to be disappointed! Heart of Hope had all the feels, laughs, tears, swoony hero, independent heroine, funny kid and townspeople that win your heart!
Beautiful and Touching!
This was such an amazing story!! Lucy Score is a wonderful writer and a great addition to the Hope Falls Kindle World created by the dynamic duo, Melanie Shawn! This is the perfect story about loss and grief, life’s second chances, and of course, love. Bristol Quinn and Beau Evanko–a sexy and beautiful couple brought together by fate; they actually found each other because of Bristol’s deceased sister, Hope. I truly fell more in love with love. Lucy Score’s Heart of Hope will touch the depths of your heart, bring tears to your eyes, and then make you smile all in one breath! Simply wonderful!!
4 stars although my ratings seem to be saving adequately of late.
Exquisitely joyful
In any other hands, Heart of Hope could easily have been cast aside as maudlin and cliché. Lucy Score once again proves she is capable of handling a tough subject with humor and heart. Oh, so much heart.
This is my first foray into a Kindle World book, but it won’t be my last. I fell in love with the town of Hope Falls and its quirky and nosy inhabitants. The Quinn’s are part of this world, trying to figure out how to move on after the loss of one of their own. Bristol Quinn describes her late sister in a letter at the beginning of the book, and it was love at first sight for me. I fell in love with both Bristol and her sister, Hope. Although we never meet Hope in the book, she came to life through Bristol’s words.
Bristol’s precocious daughter Violet discovers a love of ice hockey, and so begins a new adventure for them. Determined to bring a smile back to her daughter, Bristol throws herself into learning to skate and coach peewee hockey, under the tutelage of a tall, dark stranger, Beau. All is not as it seems with Beau, though, and it’s not what you think, either!
This book hit me in the solar plexus, making me smile and laugh. It made me breathless racing through the sexy times, and I hate to admit I cried tears of joy along with the townspeople of Hope Falls at a grand gesture by Beau. You must experience this book!
Heart of Hope is a heartwarming story about loss, healing and love. It has all the feel goods and you may shed some tears but they will be both sad and happy. It’s a purely selfless act when a family agrees to donate a deceased loved one’s organs. Hope’s Heart celebrates a family’s decision to do just that.
*** 4.5 Stars ***
Heart of Hope by Lucy Score is a contemporary, small town romance told in third person.
Bristol and her family are grieving the loss of her sister, Hope. It has been eight months and Bristol’s daughter is finally showing interest in something – pee wee hockey. So when the team is suddenly without a coach, Bristol steps in to fill that role even though she doesn’t know anything about the sport and can’t even skate. That’s when Beau enters the picture offering assistance. He’s a stranger in town, and his stories don’t quite add up. What is Beau really doing in Hope Falls? And what will happen when Bristol finds out? Read the book to find out.
I really enjoyed Bristol and Beau’s story. It was emotional, heartwarming, romantic, and sweet. Highly recommended.
I loved this book, the beginning is heart wrenching as you realize what is happening to this family, and Bristol’s letter shows you how the family is still struggling to process. As the story unravels and Bristol’s relationship with Beau strengthens its feels like there is a special sort of magic that is finally wrapping itself around the family and helping them to heal. I’m a sucker for these types of stories and I’m more than a little bit in love with this town.
Such a moving story! I fell in love with all the characters of this amazing town of Hope Falls. Have your tissues handy as you are guaranteed to get the ‘feels’ with this delicately written story.
I fully admit that I avoided this book because I typically like my romances steamy, hold the tears. I absolutely adore Lucy Score’s writing though, so I decided to give this a go. I am so glad I did. This book was amazing and worthy of the tears that fell throughout.
