I’m the villain in most romances.I’m a thief that steals happily ever afters.Except unlike most romances, love doesn’t conquer me, I conquer it.I’ve stolen countless women from unsuspecting men.Gotten my one night with them. And then watched the heartbreak that occurs in my wake.Love doesn’t survive once I enter the picture, if it ever existed at all.Although, stealing Sloane might be my greatest … all.
Although, stealing Sloane might be my greatest challenge of all.

Better than I expepected!
I absolutely love anything Ella Miles writes and this book was no different! Excellent read, great plot with a few twist and turns and full of angst and plenty of hot steamy yumminess!! Guaranteed HEA ending! 5 stars definitely!

This seemed to be a little slow in parts but you can still get to the end. This about Asher and the way he deals with his life and how Sloane deals with her own life. A standalone read and a good start to the series.
This is a good story with good characters. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is a good read.

It was hard for me to like Asher in the beginning, but I’m glad I didn’t give up. I really liked it. Thanks
This book was a total surprise for me. My first time reading Ella Miles was Heart of a Thief and I have been hooked ever since. I wasn’t expecting much with this book but it was free so I went for it, boy I’m glad I did. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea because it is dark and gritty but that’s what makes it so good! Thoroughly enjoyed!
way too much bad language; don’t need that much to tell a story; can see the chance for the good story beneath all the filth.
A well written but a bit disturbing story dealing with revenge, betrayal and suicide. I did not like Asher at first as he is a flippant douche out to purposefully break women’s hearts. I gained more empathy as the story progresses since you get more of a background of his life choices. Sloane is the focus of his next dastardly challenge. But beware as all is not what it seems. An interesting interpretation on a HEA as this story does not provide a sweet and sunny ending.

What an interesting story with a twist!!!
This was a great story, Asher and Sloane are two peas in one seriously twisted pod. Asher is a thief, whether it be of something tangible or a woman’s heart it doesn’t matter, he gets a rush from it. He has recently been stealing women from their fiance’s and then then dumping them. He is the devil and not at all sorry for what he does. Sloane is out for her bachelorette party when Asher makes his move. Sloane snubs him and it only makes her more of a challenge to him. Is Sloane truly in love with Wes? Will she be able to resist Asher? Or will things end as they always do, where Asher gets the woman, then dumps her? This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

Asher is a millionaire who leaves in a beach shack in Hawaii. He is a professional surfer who always gets what he wants…other men’s fiancée’s. Sloan owns a nonprofit company along with her grandmother and is engaged. Asher sees her one night and knows she is the biggest challenge he will ever face! In a twist, he manages to become the best man at her wedding! Through a series of events…she ends up marrying Asher, but only for a year! He has played a dangerous game his entire life by stealing…now he is about to receive a wakeup call! This is a torrid passionate steamy adventurous romance…but with an added twist you will NEVER see coming! My mouth dropped in surprise! Ella Miles definitely writes with a dramatic flair…but the psychological mind bashing she pulls out in this book will definitely surprise you! Will there be any redemption? Anything left to save? What happens when the truth comes out? To find out…you will have to read this book and be prepared to be hooked! I received this via Booksprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
Ella Miles has done an outstanding job with this book. Asher was a thief. Starting off stealing small things & building up to larger trying to find the thrill he needed. It went from cars to women’s hearts. Not just any woman, but women who were supposedly in love with someone else. Once they left the man they were in love with to be with he, he’s done with them. He sees Sloan at her bachelorette party & decides she’s his next victim. He doesn’t realize another game has already started. This is a roller coaster ride you won’t want to miss.
This book was fantastic!! I absolutely loved it! I was hooked from the very first page!! I need more Asher and Sloane!!
This book was a surprising pleasure. A wonderful, well written book that offers an engaging storyline. The characters are complex and well developed. I loved the uniqueness of having the hero of this book be so objectionable. To start, Asher is not a good guy or a nice guy. He’s not likable nor is he even misunderstood. He is a terrible person, that takes great pleasure in causing other people pain and then acting like he did them a favor by doing it. Sloane is strong, capable and tough and she just might be the one to bring Asher to his knees. This is really not your typical romance and to me that was a good thing. It’s a story about the antihero and how love finds him regardless.
What do you get when you combine two damaged people and set them on a path for collision? You get the sexy, angsty Heart of a Thief, by Ella Miles.
Asher is a real douche at the beginning of Heart of a Thief. He has addictions to lots of things, but his biggest high is stealing women who belong to other men.
“There is one feeling that is better–the feeling of stealing someone’s happily ever after. The thrill of chasing a woman already claimed by another man just does something to me that nothing else can. It twists my soul and makes me want more of the drug that pulses through my veins every time I finally make the woman mine instead of his. It’s a drug that pulls me in over and over again, a thrill I can’t resist. But why would I want to? I’m a thief and a surfer. Both things keep me completely satisfied. And neither makes me feel guilty. I don’t feel bad for the women or the men I hurt. I’m doing them a favor really. They believe in true love and happily ever after. They believe in the fairy tales they have been fed their whole lives. I just teach them how wrong they really are. In the real world, love doesn’t exist.”
Yeah…he’s not exactly Prince Charming. But, when he meets Sloane, and he thinks she’s going to be just another conquest that he can seduce then dump, he’s got another think coming because she’s not that easy. You see, she’s got an agenda of her own. And when he finds out what that agenda is…it’ll knock him on his devilish ass and tear out his heart, the heart he doesn’t even realize he has until Sloane rocks his world.
I love Heart of a Thief. At first I was pretty disgusted and wondering if I was going to have to put this down and not finish, because Asher was so sleazy and so remorseless about all the hurt he inflicted on people. But once I realized he was really just a damaged soul who needed to find the heart he had buried, then I was all in. And Sloane, wow, that woman is kind of awesome. Just as damaged as Asher, if not more so, but with a core of loyalty that Asher never possessed until he met Sloane. I admired her, even as I kinda hated her toward the end. But, because Ella Miles is such a great writer, she made fall in love with her again, after making me fall for Asher, a man I despised at first. And she made me fall in love with their whole story.
Revenge tales can be really distasteful if not done right, but Ella did right by this trope. You’ll fall in love with Asher and Sloane, even if you kind of despise them at first (especially Asher). And you’ll love this sexy, twisty tale.
Despicable Creatures
Two despicable creatures having sex, making each other, and others miserable. Asher is a douche, but to be fair, you can’t steal someone who doesn’t want to go in the first place…were the women he toyed with stupid, yes, did they deserve what they got, yes, in every scenario it was all about breaking HER heart, by causing her to break her engagement then dumping her, but these women never cared they broke their fiancé’s hearts the night before their weddings by dumping them…they were all willing participants, and they all got played by a jerk…who then got played by Sloane…the only “victims” were the men who got ditched by these dumb women…but then again, they were better off in the long run, since these women were so easily cheating on them….no hero, no heroine, just two horrible people who deserve each other
