Oh how I love this series and this book is another one to love.
As this book opens, Jamie’s brother Jarrod O’Neill has come to Prairie for his niece Fiona’s Christening. Only there’s a wedding first, Caro Grace is getting married and Jamie is catering the affair. This is the perfect time for Jarrod to help with the baby and tease one opposing council, Alexis Grace.
Jarrod met Alexis in Washington DC where they are both high-power attorneys, but he hadn’t really put together that she was one of the Grace family in Prairie. Now that he has he is more than looking forward to crashing this wedding.
A bottle of Jamey’s 12-year Redbreast, more than a little flirting and these two really heat things up, at least for the moment.
Things go awry after Jarrod wins his case against Alexis. With a family tragedy he decides to take a sabbatical and spend some time with Jamie in Prairie.
On the other hand Alexis had been fired after losing the high profile case and she was back in Prairie to re-evaluate her life.
Little did they know they would not only be clashing in the bedroom but also in the political arena. Running for mayor on some interesting platforms.
I laughed, cried, fanned myself and totally enjoyed every page of this book. What a great election!
I love the refreshing way this political romance is portrayed. Lexi and Jarrod are hot for each even as they face off in the mayoral race. As the campaigning intensifies so does their need for each other. Once again, the characters are engaging and realistic and the story interesting and sexy. How can you not devour a book full of passion and love??
As always, Tessa pulled me in and wrapped me in the world of Prairie from the first page.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I’ve read books that didn’t finesse the relationship and you get book whiplash from a sudden change that you aren’t ready for just yet…. I can say that this book does not have that problem.
This relationship unfolds at just the right pace. The characters grow and their relationship is given all the heat and tension it needs to be interesting but believable.
Another great book to add to the series!
Jarrod and Alexis (Lexi) are both lawyers on opposite sides of the aisle. You feel the chemistry between them but they don’t want to give in. Until one night after to many whiskey shots they give in to desire.
Neither of them knew the other had ties to Prairie, until they both find themselves back there.
This story made me mad, cry, laugh, swoon, and dream I had what they did. Although this is a standalone book, I’d suggest reading some of the others in the series. All the characters in this series are amazing, hot, funny, and lovable.
Everyone should have people in their lives like the people in Prairie.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I and proud to leave an honest and voluntarily review.
Lexi is a lawyer working for a law firm in D.C. and after losing a case and getting fire, decided to go back home to Prairie.
Jarrod is a lawyer in D.C. and after having a big loss, decided to move to Prairie to stay close to her sister and niece.
They are opposed in a trial, but their minds and body want to be close, really close.
When both of them decide to run for mayor, everything changes in the small community.
The book is well-written and well-developed.
I loved reading about all the characters in the previous books of this series. And I loved the end. I didn’t see it coming and it made me laugh out loud.
Wow, they battle in court, now they battle In Alexia’ s home town. Jarrod has come to Prairie, for his nieces christening, not expecting Alexia. They battle in court, now can he battle her on her home turf? They are enemies, but why can’t they stop hating each other? Who will win in court? Who will win for mayor? Will they win each other or will they kill each other?

Prairie Bliss is the ninth book in the Cowboys of Flint Hills, but could be read as a stand alone. Lexi is home celebrating her sister’s wedding when she runs into none other than Jarrod, the man who stirs her anger and passion in and out of the courtroom. When they both end up in Prairie, they both end up running for mayor, but will they be able to settle the explosion of passion that raises between them?
Wow, this book captured my attention right from page one and I loved Jarrod and Lexi! I liked that there was definitely a feel of enemies to lovers, but they both had a tentative friendship and the attraction that constantly drew them together just would not leave them alone. They were so aware of each other, and while sometimes the passion came out as anger and harsh words, it also came out as love and compassion. Jarrod was cocky, but he really had a fun side. While he was in touch with what he was feeling, he also didn’t fully understand small town living, and let his determination to win drive him, at any cost. Lexi was also a little overly confident, a little judgmental at times, but I felt like her heart was often in the right place. Because of their professional background, she often let her anger get away from her when it came to Jarrod and trust didn’t seem to come easily to either Lexi or Jarrod. But it was fun watching them both tumble and stumble into love, and phew, their passion was hot! This book had one of my favorite aspects of small town romances, and that’s just watching the town rally around each other and offer love and support! While this book could stand alone, there are a lot of cameos of previous relationships and characters, so to get the full understanding, it’s good to read the series in order – it’s also just that good of a series, too!! This was a great addition to the series and I really enjoyed Lexi and Jarrod!
Prairie Bliss is book number nine in the Cowboys of the Flint Hills by Tessa Layne. This is Jarrod O’Neill and Lexi Grace’s story.
Jarrod and Lexi’s characters were fantastic. Jarrod loved messing with her. The explosive chemistry and the banter between them made this a fun and enjoyable read. Loved this read!
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I’ve come to Tessa Layne’s books in the past six months or so, and while I’ve read the Resolution Ranch and the Case brothers’s books, I hadn’t read any of her earlier work. Some of the characters were familiar from this, often as peripheral characters in those books, but I felts somewhat behind in my familiarity with many who made an appearance in this novel. However despite playing catch-up, I find it is possible to figure these books out even if you come late to the party. I do recommend reading them in order, if you have that option since I believe that Ms. Layne’s books are richer when you catch all the nuances the various characters bring.
This was a fun book to read. The hero and heroine were full of fire and passion and both loved and fought with vigor. Despite the fact that there were no deep-seated traumas or betrayals in their pasts, I found that I laughed more, felt more, and actually happy-cried at the surprise ending. I have noted in my past four reviews that despite tackling some really painful issues with her main characters, I haven’t felt deeply or shed a tear while reading the past eight novels. So I say “Bravo” for the best Tessa Layne novel I’ve read so far!

I loved every single page of Prairie Bliss!! I couldn’t swipe the pages fast enough, but at the same time, I didn’t want it to end. The characters were well developed and the plot kept me guessing.
All’s fair in love and war….
Watching Lexi and Jarrod battle it out in D.C, in the courtroom, and then back in Prairie was beyond fascinating. Lexi is as stubborn as they come. Jarrod hates to lose, no matter the price. Then there’s the ending…I never saw it coming!!!
I seriously can’t wait for more of Jarrod and Lexi’s story. November can’t get here fast enough!!!
Wow I have been waiting on the next installment for this series and I am not at all disappointed – the other characters and families is wonderful to revisit. Another hot and steamy road for 2 lawyers away from DC, yet finding their HEA! my copy was from booksprout and I loved it!
Enemies-to-lovers has always been my favorite trope and will probably continue to be for a long time, maybe even forever. You know what you’re in for when you pick up a book that has it. I love the heat, the passion and the fights that all lead up to what I hope will be an HEA. I think I mostly love it because it depicts real life. Real relationships. They have ups and downs we all have, if you’re in a relationship.
In Prairie Bliss, the enemies-to-lovers are two opposing lawyers. They are the same in many ways. Passionate, opinionated and confident, just to name a few. But they were also different as much as they were the same.
Jarrod comes to Prairie for a christening and he finds out that Alexis Grace is in town. He knew her when they were both in Washington DC as high powered attorneys. Now he has a reason to crash a wedding.
Alexis.
He is man who lives to win. He strives toward the goal of making sure that he never looses, and it is one of the reasons he works for a large corporation. And the money is not something he would ever turn away from. So he won’t turn away from her.
Lexi is back in town to get an understanding of her life after being fired for loosing a high profiled case. She loves working for the little people, the underdogs. Which means she up against Jarrod. So out of habit she figures that Jarrod is same as the rest of the soulless money making men that work for the big man.
Then the city election for Mayor happens. And they go head to head. But will there be an HEA for either of them?
This book has great banter, great chemistry, everything I LOVE about enemies-to-lovers. This is a great book that I recommend if you love heat, and passion and reality that appearances can be sometimes be deceiving.
Opposing Stars
I realized while reading Prairie Bliss that I had missed a couple or three books in the series. This book made me want to go back and read them.
I thought it was so interesting how Jarrod o OK to Prairie. I was wondering about what he was going to do when it came out that he was running against Alexis for mayor.
Jarrod and Alexis’ relationship was combustible. The chemistry, the conversations, the competition, the romance, were all majorly intense. Behind all of that was a vulnerability they shared. Ultimately determining they had each others backs no matter what happened.
One of the best parts of the book were the surprises toward the end. Completely caught me off guard. A book full of family, friends, love, loyalty, and support. No worries, Alexis and Jarrod do get their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy received from Booksprout.
Enemies to Lover’s is always so much fun. It’s not often in a book that I get misty-eyed tears of happiness, but this one really had it. And the first I love you was just adorable. I really loved this book

Prairie Bliss is book 9 in the Cowboys of Flint Hills series by Tessa Layne and as always…another well written, awesome book!!
Lexi Grace and Jarrod O’Neill, both DC attorneys on opposite sides of a trial where sparks are present before, during and after. When both return to Prairie things really heat up …Lexi returns permanently after being fired or losing her court case and now needs to figure out where her life is going. While Jarrod on the other hand takes a year’s sabbatical after winning, as he feels slightly burned out and needs to disconnect from the rat race…
What happens when they re-connect again in Prairie, sparks fly, tempers flare, opposites attract, needs are off the charts. Can these to find their HEA together or will opposites remain opposites??
Standoff in the Courtroom and on the Ranch!!
Two completing lawyers both end up with family in Prairie. Now they ride and run for mayor – still completing against one another.
A delightful battle of dirty limericks, family interactions, and feelings that they both fight against. Who will end up the winner?!?
A journey to Prairie is always heart-felt and entertaining.

I loved how these two came together. From the opening chapter I thought it was going to go a more enemy path but totally different. Loved how they could put aside the town for each other and fall so hard.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
After going against each other in the court room, both Lexi and Jarrod are in Prairie.
They have put aside the hostility from D.C. and start a relationship. Until, they both announce that they are running for mayor.
But opinions become heated.
Whose going to be elected and can they still continue to fall for one another?
