New York Times BestsellerA story of patients and staff, family, and friends who are part of a heart clinic in a community caught between the old Ireland and the new. Dr. Clara Casey has been offered the thankless job of establishing the underfunded clinic and agrees to take it on for a year. She has plenty on her plate already—two difficult adult daughters and the unwanted attentions of her … and the unwanted attentions of her ex-husband—but she assembles a wonderfully diverse staff devoted to helping their demanding, often difficult patients.
Before long the clinic is established as an essential part of the community, and Clara must decide whether or not to leave a place where lives are saved, courage is rewarded, and humor and optimism triumph over greed and self-pity.

Dependably Maeve Binchy
I learned something about treating my own heart problem!
An easy read, but at times the stories were disjointed, skipping around
Informative and good time setting. Difficulty in keeping track of the characters.
I loved this book, but I must confess I love all books written by Maeve Binchy. She writes wonderful stories.
Delightful! A full range of well-drawn characters with beautifully interwoven stories.
So many characters and settings that much of the time, not sure who was who.
Standard Binchey. She draws the most wonderful characters!
Love anything Mauve Binchy has written. You want her characters to be your friends
A fun summer ‘escape’ read with a good mix of characters;
A very comfortable read.
Love anything of Maeve Binchy
Well written; likeable characters. It seemed rather unrealistic and a bit too easy how everything worked out. Enjoyable and entertaining.
I love all her books. I love the way she brings back characters from previous books. Her characters are always marvelous and endearing.
A great read – the intertwining of many lives. Set in Ireland.
wonderful story telling!
Love her books. One of my favorite authors.
