She spends her nights treating patients, but Dr. Jocelyn Drake’s own wounds are unfixable. Her ex-husband and his younger, bouncier girlfriend work just a few floors away at Tulane Medical Center, and they serve as a constant reminder of what Joss lost. But a fierce determination to continue her research project and a shred of remaining pride keep Joss from transferring out of the Big Easy.Carson … Easy.
Carson Stephens recently returned from a tour of duty in the Middle East, and though willing women present themselves at every turn, his closest companion is loneliness. His night-shift work supervising the electrical and mechanical systems at the hospital is a perfect fit – it’s solitary work putting broken things back together.
When the electrical system on Joss’ floor goes haywire, she’s frazzled by the sexy electrician who sparks her dormant sex drive. He’s brooding and cocky – so not her type. But if Carson has his way, his hands will work their magic on more than just the wiring, and he’ll show Joss a night of passion that restores her shattered confidence.
But what happens after that night? As their relationship grows into something more, Joss and Carson face ups and downs, and they both realize that the healing has only just begun.

I had this book for quite a while and I’m seriously kicking myself for not reading sooner! It was really good!
Joss is an Obstetrician. Her husband left her a year ago for another woman, a nurse working in the same hospital as her. For the past year she’s been forced to see them together at work. Carson is an army veteran, working as an electrician in the same hospital. They meet each other when she asks for his help. The attraction between them is instant!!
Joss is insecure about herself since her husband left her. He really did a number on her and left her wondering what’s wrong with her. Carson has some issues of his own. His time overseas left him with demons he battles with everyday. Joss is the first person to make him feel again.
It was so interesting to see this two coming together. Both of them change because of each other. Joss learns to love herself and Carson decides to face his demons and become a better man for her. I felt their struggles and I was so glad to see them overcome their issues. Such a heartfelt story, full of emotions and two people that find each other at the best time!!

Another great read by Brenda Rothert. Jocelyn and Carson are two broken people who come together and find the greatest love.
Both people have felt loss in the past and thought they could not bump back from it. In reality, they were just waiting for each other.
They face ups and downs as a couple, but they always come out on top. I loved the story 🙂
This is a story of recently divorced physician that develops an unexpected relationship with a hospital maintenance worker. This book was originally written as a novella that told the story of how Joss and Carson met. Brenda Rothert later completed the story due to overwhelming reader feedback for the rest of their story.
This was a great story. That told of the attraction of two individuals of different backgrounds. Carson has deep personal issues that he is dealing with that spill over into their relationship. I would’ve liked to see this developed more within the story. I felt like all the through the book we encountered light-hearted conflict situations. I anticipated things to become stormy and you turn the page and everything was back to being happy.
Healing Touch is a good light-hearted read. Not much conflict within the story.
This was a good book. Carson and Joss are a likable couple with off the charts chemistry. Carson is a great hero. There’s something to be said about the strong, silent type. His reticence made him a compelling character. Joss is a good heroine, whose cheerful personality gets him to break out of his shell and open up to her. I also really liked the fact that the story is told from both points of view, which to me, is very important when you have a hero who likes to keep things close to his chest. Overall, this was a good, quick read.
