Physical Therapist and a Rancher! This story is about Carter Janus, Willow Spalding and Tavish Spalding. Although the book is more on Carter and Willow, Tavish is Willows son and Carter take a liking to him. Carter needs a physical therapist as he is badly injured and was told that he would never be able to ride a horse again. His life is being a rancher, so he is a grouchy one and thinks that his PT, Willow will end up leaving within the month. Willow on the other hand was glad to take this job as it gives her distance from the abusive ex-husband.
I love the banter between the two and the help that Tavish gets from a real man and not an abusive monster. The problem is will Willow allow her heart to trust another man as who she thought she loved turned into something that she never expected. Carter learns to love them both as he realizes how lonely he was to begin with. Carter’s mother is something else as well – got to love future mother-in-laws….

Carter is a horseman who can’t get on his horse anymore. His latest rescue project left him broken instead of the horse. There’s only so much he’ll let his mom or his foreman do for him, so enter his new live in physical therapist. Willow and her son are trying to escape from an abusive ex who doesn’t understand what a divorce nor restraining order are. She thinks she’ll be safe from him on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. He may not be all she needs kept safe from though. These two are both stubborn and well meaning, but can be idiots and real pains in the behind. Throw in an adorable, horse crazy, little boy and a doting, match-making mom and you’re in for one heck of a ride…I mean read!

A really great story and characters. I really enjoyed Willow and Carter’s story. These two had a lot to overcome and each other to do it.
This here is certainly a story that I can recommend for y’all who like Cowboys and romances. It is simple. It is just quite good. The storyline is really good and how the characters are written out is delightful. Both leading characters and others as well as the ugly villain! Overall very good and I gladly give this story fabulous four stars.

I loved Tavish and I felt for him but he is a light in this story. Through him is how Carter and Willow grow with each other. The situation is complicated but you can see that all Carter needed was some young boy love and Willow. There is some danger and suspense in this and the abuse can be a trigger for some, but it’s not detailed so it didn’t deter from the actual story.

Carter Janus was badly injured and required physical therapy to get him back on his feet. But when therapist Willow Spalding arrives, he was ready to let her go before they even got started. Her son was so excited by the horses, however, that Carter didn’t want to disappoint him. And having the two of them around lets him realize how lonely he has been.
Willow was glad to be away from where her abusive ex-husband could bother her. Even the grouchy cowboy was a relief. And seeing her son thrive at the ranch is very comforting. The only problem is that she is getting more attached to her patient, and finds herself thinking about life with him rather than the mistake she made with her ex. She doesn’t want to drag him into her messy life. She’ll just have to help him heal and then walk away – right?
This was a good story that I enjoyed. A little banter and humor make a book come alive to me because it feels so much life real life. Having Carter as a role model could do wonders for Willow’s son, Tavish, so he can see that not all men are brutal beasts. Will Willow take a chance and try a loving, respectful relationship this time around? Grab your copy and see what life has in store for them.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Willow and Carter. It’s a heartfelt story with the authors telling a story of healing, both physically and mentally. They weave a realistic story with their detailed and descriptive writing. It’s an emotional read with a sweet romance. I loved the touch of humor along with the hot chemistry and watching the love form between them and her adorable son,Tavish. It’s an entertaining story that had me hooked from start to finish. I would recommend this book.

Trying to get her new life started, physical therapist Willow travels with her small son Tavish to her new patient Carter’s ranch. There she meets his family and wishes her life were different so she could pursue the attraction she feels for him. This is a good love story about a divorced woman running from an abusive ex and the strong, taciturn man and his loving family that she comes to know. A good romance.

Mary Sue Jackson has written a 5-star book that has Willow and her son Tavish starting a new life with Carter and his family. Carter is a rancher and has been thrown from a horse. His physical therapist told him he would never ride again. Grey, a friend of his sends him another therapist. Willow is running away from her ex-husband Andy and she jumps at the job that Grey offers her. Carter is not in the best of moods and when he sees Willow, he wants to send her away. Things do not start off good for them. Carter does not do what Willow asks him to do. There is an attraction to one another that they fight but when they end up in a cabin during a storm they give in to it. As Willow and Carter are working on this therapy, his mother, Regina watches Tavish. Regina notices things about Tavish and she tells Carter about what she thinks. After their talk, Carter goes up to Willows’s room and tells her they need to talk. They go down to the kitchen and start talking. Willow tells them about her life with her ex-husband. She tells them that Tavish saw his father trying to kill her and since then he has not spoken. Carter gets a call from a police officer and told that Grey has been attacked and is in the hospital in a medical coma. Carter tells him everything about Willow and Andy. He tells all his ranch-hands to be on the look-out for Andy. Carter and Tavish had been working together and Carter sends him up to the house ahead of him but he never makes it. Everyone starts looking for Tavish. Willow gets a call from Andy telling her that it is his time with Tavish and that she is going to come back to him. He tells her that she is going to meet him and then they will leave. Andy sends her the address on where to meet him. Andy is worse than Willow thought. He has a gun and points it at Willow but never gets to use it because Carter sees what is going on and comes up behind him and jumps him.
Will Willow and Tavish ever be free of Andy? Will they stay with Carter and his family?
Will Carter ever be able to ride again? Will he get Willow and Tavish to stay with him?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Carter James is his own worse enemy. After a horse injures him causing damage requiring surgery, he pushes himself too hard. The prognosis is not encouraging; he will never ride a horse again.
His current pain level is unbearable. He’s willing to take a chance on a therapist recommended by a friend. His body is letting him down. A horse whisperer has to be able to ride.
When Willow Spalding and her young son, Tavish, arrives, he does not want anything to do with her. But something about the silent youngster tugs his heart. Willow’s skittish manner indicates that something has happened in the past. So she’ll stay, at least for a bit, he cannot kick them out like he wants to do.
Can a stubborn rancher follow orders to get better? Will he ever ride again? What is Willow’s secret past? Why isn’t Tavish talking like a normal little boy?
Read the unfolding story as Carter seeks his therapist’s secrets and fights against treatment that can mean the difference to his future.

Nice western romance
Mary Sue Jackson does a good job with Healing the Rancher. It’s a wounded-cowboy/woman-on-the-run trope that’s been done before, but Jackson’s version is worth reading. To be honest, the characters are a bit stereotypical, but have enough personality to rise above. The plot is straightforward, with a nice mix of sex, conflict, external threats and internal monologue. It may be a bit predictable, but it is flawlessly paced and keeps readers engaged. This is the pefrfect book for these difficult times – dependably entertaining without unwelcome surprises. I am voluntarily leaving this ARC review.
