I loved Carter and Willow’s story. They both went through so much prior to meeting that I am glad they are finally able to let each other in and help. I also liked Tavish and felt for him and the things he had seen.

What a great book that grabbed my attention right at the beginning. Once I started reading, it was hard to stop. This book is full of emotion and will grab your heart. Heartwarming and heartbreaking, so grab a box of Kleenex because you’ll probably need them. Willow, a physical therapist and her young son Tavish are escaping her abusive ex. Tavish withdrew and stopped talking after watching his father beat his mother. Willow took the job as a PT for injured rancher Carter thinking she would be safe from her ex on this secluded ranch. Lots of drama when her ex finds her and takes Tavish. Carter is a grump and tries to fight his growing attraction to Willow and her son. A great book that I know you will enjoy. I read an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review. no cliffhanger an a HEA always makes me happy.
A perfect book for these times!
Leaving the world as it is today with all the upheaval and uncertainty was an opportunity not to be missed. When Willow takes on the job of helping Carter to be able to ride again, she and her son Tavish move to his family’s ranch. More importantly than the job itself is the opportunity to “hide out” from her ex-husband. Things run smoothly, and they are all super happy together; however, her jerk of an ex-husband is bent on ruining her life again. Will they find happiness and safety or will they have to move on again? Terrific characters, story, and writing make this a terrific book to escape with.

What a wonderful contemporary western romance that immediately grabbed my attention and kept me glued to the book until I read the last word with unforgettable characters and a great story that included ups and downs, family drama, a bit of suspense and heartwarming romance. I loved the instant attraction and undeniable chemistry between rancher Carter Janus and his live-in physical therapist, Willow Spalding. If you enjoy small-town western romance, don’t miss “Healing the Rancher”. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Carter was badly injured after being thrown from a horse and requires physical therapist. When Carter’s physical therapist tells him he will never ride again, a friend of Carter’s, Grey, sends him another physical therapist. Willow jumps at the job that Grey offers to get away from her abusive ex husband. Things between Carter and Willow are rough at the beginning. A grouchy cowboy will not send Willow running after seeing how her son is thriving on the ranch. Carter and Willow fight their attraction but give in when they end up at the cabin when a storm hits. Will Willow open up to Carter about what happened to her and Tavish at the hands of her ex? Can Carter protect Willow and Tavish from Willow’s ex? Will Carter realize that he loves Willow and Tavish, and that his life is lonely without them? Will Willow learn to trust and open her heart up to Carter? Will Carter, Willow, and Tavish find their happily ever after? I really enjoyed Healing the Rancher by Mary Sue Jackson. Healing the Rancher is a great book with amazing characters that add a little humor and banter to a fantastic plot. I would recommend getting Healing the Rancher and any other book by Mary Sue Jackson.

Hezling the Rancher by Mary Sue Jackson. This is Carter and Willow story. This story is really special to me because my niece is having a baby and his name is Carter and we called him bean from day one. That’s the name Carter’s mother calls Tavish. I really love to watch Carter and Willow fall in love. They both came a long way especially Willow walking away from her ex. Carter dealing with his injury and not being in full control. To me this story is about growth and how love will see you through,

Healing the Rancher is a contemporary cowboy romance by Mary Sue Jackson. This book is one of her best: gritty, real, and hot. Rancher Carter Janus got bucked off by a horse and now can barely walk. He is not much good on a ranch and something has got to give. His good friend, Grey is sending him a live-in physical therapist, which appears to be his last shot. He is not happy about it; his mother calls him surly. He watches her step out of her car and turn to unload a small boy. Now he’s really not happy. Willow is an excellent physical therapist; she’s also running from an abusive and aggressive ex-husband. This is about as far from New York as she can get. She and her son, Tavish, have endured a lot the past few months. She is praying this will work out and they will be safe here. There is an immediate attraction, but it is not professional at all. She needs to kick his butt; he needs to cooperate. Slowly but surely he starts making progress. At the same time, Tavish has fallen in love with the ranch, Carter’s mother, and Carter, himself. Tavish follows Carter around like a puppy. When Carter buys him a cowboy hat and starts teaching him to ride, it is a done deal. But, Tavish still won’t speak, still traumatized by his father’s actions.
This is totally a character driven book and terrific characters they are. Tavish, who doesn’t even speak, is one of the best Jackson portrays him, his personality, and his love for the horses and Carter so eloquently that it is breathtaking. Willow is so broken that it makes the reader’s heart bleed. She has been abused for so many years, she barely trust anyone or anything. Her growth is heart-rending as she comes to trust Carter and his mother, the ranch hands, and even good fortune, itself. Carter is a good guy with a negative attitude. With him it’s all about what he can’t do, not what he can do. He knows better than to get involved with Willow but circumstances place them in a situation that makes it impossible for both of them. What an enjoyable read! I recommend it.

The story of Willow and Carter is enchanting and emotional. They both had to overcome their fears in the healing process before they could embark on a journey together. Travis was so adorable he almost stole the show as well as my heart.

An injured rancher and a physical therapist with a tragic past work through their differences to find a future. Her son mute through a traumatic event helps to bring all the emotional feels to the story. There is plenty of action, drama and romance to satisfy any reader.
This was a great read with characters you can relate to as well as get annoyed at at times (yes Carter) but also understood where they were coming from. You keep hoping things will work out for Willow as she totally deserves it for her and Tavish and if Carter can pull himself together he will see how great they are. There are plenty of bumps in the road, hopes and doubts, laughs and tense time to see if they can make it which makes it a great read.

Carter is a rancher and he has been injured. He has been told that he will never be able to ride again, which is devastating to him. He thinks he not work anything because of his disability. Willow is a physical therapist who is trying to stay out of reach of her ex husband, she has a young son named Tavish. The little guy has not spoken since he saw his father try to kill his mom. At first Carter and Willow don’t get along, but things change in their relationship. Finally Willow explains what happened with her ex and how dangerous he is This story has great characters, a wonderful plot and if you want to know what happens next, you better buy it.
Highly entertaining, fun, sexy and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, exciting twists and emotionally thrilling turns. Was a great read from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this sweetly thrilling journey!
I have to give a thumbs up to Carter, even in his injured state, he is man enough to accept Willow, complications and all. Her situation is heart breaking, I felt sorry for her & Tavish. She is a great, brave mom not sure she is ready but Carter is more than willing to work it out. I think his “meddling” mom is a great supporting character. Story is good, I’m a wimp when it comes to any kind of abuse. Wish it had more romance to soften up the seriousness. This brings much needed healing to more than the rancher. I really enjoyed this cowboy romance, it is filled with plenty of heart and emotion. The storyline is interesting and well-written, the characters are incredibly likable, Carter and Willow have incredible chemistry between them, I loved their banter and interaction. Even little Tavish was sweet and adorable. I’m glad they all finally got their HEA.

Thrown from a cantankerous horse, Carter was severely injured and may never ride again, not an acceptable situation for a rancher. His latest physical therapist is Willow, who brings her young son, Tavish. Her boss negotiates for them to live at the ranch while she’s providing therapy. She took her son and escaped from an abusive marriage, trying to stay away from her ex, but he keeps tracking them down. As always, the author has done a stellar job with this story. The book has a good balance of romance, action, drama, and suspense. Carter and Willow are on a slow burn, until they explode. She pulls back, not wanting to send mixed signals to Tavish, and knowing that they can’t stay too long because eventually Andy will find them; her fear is understandable. Carter’s mother, Regina, is such a delightful woman, nudging Carter and Willow together when they won’t admit what they feel. I also love that she talks about having four sons. She’s patient with Tavish, and he’s calling her Grandma before long. Carter may have some physical limitations, but he’s strong in spirit. Willow – she’s strong and sassy, and doesn’t take any lip from Carter. And Tavish – this cute little guy has been through so much, but he worships Carter, following him around like a lost puppy dog.

The rancher and the PT
Carter Janus, 34, is a rancher medically prohibited from riding a horse (hello ATV).
He’s in pain and cranky. His new PT is Willow Spalding, 30, single mom to Tavish and newly divorced from an abusive ex.
I do so enjoy a PT romance. A favorite trope of mine.
She’s repairing his body, he’s repairing her trust.
Recommend. He’s a not so cranky cowboy.
This is a beautiful story that is moving and has plenty of romance. The characters are likable, relatable and have great personalities. Cater and Willow have amazing chemistry. This is an amazing read!

Loved this story about physical therapist Willow taking a job to help rancher Carter get back on his feet and his horse. Willow is a single mom to Tavish and this job will put distance between her and her abusive ex. Carter keeps going through physical therapist because he is grouchy and does not follow their instructions but Willow is determined to stay. Carter takes a liking to her son who stopped talking the night his father beat on Willow but with time spent on the ranch with the horses he begins to talk again. Willow thinks she and Tavish may be safe on the ranch but her ex is coming for her. Great story and loved Carter, Willow and Tavish.
