This is a slow sizzle in the beginning of course with a secret danger brewing. I was happy when the book seemed to really pick up after the initial song and dance of the main characters. There was an air of excitement and anticipation. I really enjoyed the author’s choice of words and descriptions. It brought the book to life.

A lovely novel to get away from your own life.
Willow spent years in marriage with a man who assaulted her. She finally got through the divorce but her ex continues to chase her and gives her no rest. She finds a job with Carter, who needs physical therapy after an accident. From New York she goes with her son Tavish to Texas and hopes to leave her ex far behind.
Slowly a romance develops between Willow and Carter. Even though Willow experiences the safety of the ranch, she remains concerned that her ex will find her, and he does.
A sweet novel with an element of danger incorporated in it. Nice read

I love stories of strong cowboys that has met their match, and then falls for her as they wade through to their HEA. Add in the woman’s son and you have a hot sexy story that describes “Healing the Rancher”. Carter, Willow, and Tavish’s story is just feel good reading. As with all hot sexy romance stories, there is lots of drama and page turning romance that gives readers exactly what we are looking for with rifts that always gives that aha moment. A story not to be missed, **I was gifted a copy of “Healing the Rancher” and leave my review voluntarily based on my reading** 4.5 Stars!
Stormy and sexy all rolled up together into the perfect mix
I loved this drama filled, sweet and steamy story of Carter and Willow. These two are both attracted to each both but both are also broken. Carter is a rancher who was thrown from a horse and then told he would never ride again. This is not really an option when you are a rancher so his friend Grey sends a new physical therapist out to the ranch to work with him and live there. Willow and her son Tavish show up but one look from Carter and he tries to send her packing, before she even gets to unpack. But Willow is not leaving and she and Tavish start to work together, as they continue to fight there ever growing attraction to each other. But Willow is on the run so to say, from an abusive husband who is determined that she will come back to him and he will use any means to get what he wants. Carter and Willow end up giving in to their attraction and it is explosive fireworks that are set off between them. Now that Carter has his sweet Willow he is all about being the possessive and protective Alpha with her and Tavish. No one is going to take them away from him……of that Carter is positive!
Willow takes a job at Rockin J ranch rehabilitating Carter. He was thrown from a horse and broke his hip. She brings her young son Tavish with her hoping they can hide from her abusive ex, Andrew. Liked the storyline and the back and forth between Willow and Carter. Nice ending.
This book grabs your attention in the first chapter and keeps you engaged until the end of the book. It was so easy to connect to the characters and feel their emotions. Carter Janus was injured while riding an unruly horse. He has extreme pain but needs to be able to ride and work with his horses to keep his ranch. He was concerned when his friend sends a physical therapist to his ranch to help him. He had several therapists already and none of them was able to help him. Recently divorced Willow Spalding and her son Tavish are trying to stay hidden from Andy, her abusive ex-husband. Tavish was scared around strangers and had stopped speaking after seeing his mother being abused by Andy. Willow and Tavish quickly come to love life at the ranch and the Janus family, but Willow knows Andy is still looking for them. Carter is determined to protect them and keep them safe at his ranch. This book had heart-warming characters and was packed with emotions.

Healing the Rancher is the perfect story of a injured houseman who is angry at everything but finds more than he ever expected from a unlikely pair.
Carter is a strong rancher who was thrown from a horse and is recovering from the injury, but he needs extra help. Willow is a strong woman that has been through a lot. She and her son have moved to Texas to help get Carter back on his feet.
The character’s are wonderfully written. Willow is amazing the way she pushes Carter when he is being stubborn. She is not letting anyone stop her, even her abusive ex-husband. Carter is one of those characters that makes you smile. He seems to be all gruff but really is a teddy bear, this is seen as Willow’s son melts his heart.
This is the first book I have read from Mary Sue Jackson and have fallen in love with her characters and writing. I am looking forward to adding more of her books to my shelf.

I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update. I love an uptight alpha cowboy! Carter is trying to heal from an injury and it’s taking way too long for him. Enter Willow, his new live in PT. Willow loves her job, especially since it takes her far away from her abusive ex and gives her son a chance to try to get over what his father has done. The chemistry is obvious, but she is determined to stay professional and Carter is being his usual stubborn self. Willow eventually begins to break down his walls. Carter finally realizes what Willow and her son mean to him when her ex shows up and threatens her. Great drama, tension, passion…great story!!!
A perfect distraction.
A lively story of stubborn people who fall in love.
When I wasnt smiling, i was on the edge of my seat.
I loved every moment of Carter and Willow’s story.
I would highly recommend.
Happy reading!

Carter is a rancher that is trying to get over a serious injury. His friend in New York has referred a live in therapist and when she arrives he finds her beautiful and with a young son. He learns as they get closer to each other they are running for their lives from her ex. The story shows their connection to each other and how they learn to love each other and give into those feelings and the feelings for the son. It is a very well-written story that draws you in right from the first paragraph.

This is my first time reading anything by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the plot and the characters, both had depth to them. The characters had wonderful chemistry together and great dialogue along with some humor. I shall be looking out for more books by this author in the future.
Carter Janus is a surly old cowboy, except he’s not! A rancher and horseman in his physical prime, his days of riding and working the ranch are over since he was thrown from a horse and can barely walk. His best friend, Grey Phelps. is not going to let him sit around without even attempting to get better, so he sends him a new PT from New York City. Willow Spalding escaped an abusive husband who vowed to never let her go. Their son, Tavish, witnessed the brutality and doesn’t speak. As they arrive at the Rockin’ J Ranch, Carter can’t help but notice how beautiful the PT is, even if he’s still not sure he wants her there. But Carter does want to walk and live normally and he’s surprised that he actually likes taking orders from Willow. And, he has to admit that he’d like to give orders, too. This is such a cute, witty and sexy story with a well-developed plot and characters that are complex and so delightful that they nearly jump off the page. Charming!
Healing in many forms for all
Healing The Rancher by Mary Sue Jackson is a very well written book that delivers romance with a healing lesson. It’s not just the physical that has to heal and several characters (human and animal) get to experience this.
All of the main characters in Healing The Rancher have experienced some type of pain and/or trauma that has created either feelings of frustration, wariness and at times downright fear. The plot sees these characters slowly come out of their negative places to begin the healing process through trust and inevitably love.
Carter is one straight forward alpha rancher who has allowed his frustration to impede his physical healing. Then there’s Willow and Tavish who have experienced severe trauma at the hands of someone who supposedly loved them. Overcoming fear and distrust is a saving grace at the Rockin’ J Ranch, along with all the people supporting them, makes Willows decision to take this job her best decision ever.
Overall, this is a sweet and steamy romance that includes a small boy and a horse too finding safety, trust and love. Carter and Willow bask is this healing as well as their own through their love and a HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
ARC review For honest review. This is a story of willow Spalding and her son tarnish 5 yr old on the run and when she takes on a pt job for Carter janus from the rockin j ranch she learns she finds a family. awesome story
The great character and plot development kept me totally captivated throughout the entire book! I was so invested in this story that I read this book in one sitting!
*ARC kindly provided via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.*
I needed a contemporary book to change things up and I’ve found this one in the “Read Now” section of NetGalley and I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I did! The book left me with such good feelings and introduced me to an author that can become a favorite!
Carter is a rancher unable to ride. Imagine the frustration he’s feeling after an injury left him with a busted hip and constant pain. He’s in a bad mood everyday and snaps about everything.
Willow is a PT hired to help Carter stand on his own two feet again. A single mother to a 5-year-old boy, she moves to the ranch to escape her life. Coming from a difficult last few months, she’s skittish and protective of her son Tavish.
Carter and Willow are clashing from day one. Neither of them is ready to surrender. Their encounters are electric and the attraction between them is undeniable. While these two are mentally fighting, little Tavish is flourishing at the ranch. I was so happy to see him coming out of his shell and connecting with people again.
This cowboy romance is a perfect fit if you are looking for a story that makes you swoon and leave you with only good feelings. Don’t worry there’s the right amount of drama to spice things up as well!!
Out of the darkness, a phoenix rises. Healing the Rancher makes room for heartache and finds hope. Carter and Willow are a pair of wounded souls working to resurrect their spirits. A dangerous situation that almost turns deadly brings the chance to maybe get love right. Jackson stirs up trouble with intrigue, heartbreak and temptation. Beauty awaits after a turbulent journey.
This is a great book that once I started reading this I didn’t want to put it down. Carter was arrogant pig headed patient that Willow was asked to help but she was no pushover & after escaping from her violent ex husband this was the start of her & her son Tavish’s new life. Without wanting to admit it they both found each other hot & they definately had sexual chemistry going on but Carter also started to become attached to Tavish. They were both stubborn but they eventually gave into their desires but felt it was wrong & tried to stay away but it was no use & even Carter’s mum knew they loved each other even if they wouldn’t admit it. But when Willow’s ex-husband Andy turned up & kidnapped Tavish Carter was determined to keep his promise to protect them both. At times it didn’t seem like life was going to get better for them but they never gave up which made them stronger together.
