Welcome to Fortis Security where you will be made to feel like a member of the team in no time while they undertake dangerous, secret, action packed missions with a whole lot of loving on the side. It’s not all fun and games though there is heartache, tragedy and loss. This is Dane and Lauren’s story and it is so gripping and smoulderingly good. You won’t want to stop reading when you get to the end of the book and I’m sure you will be one clicking the next book in the series, and the next. I’m so glad I picked up this series and I am waiting impatiently for the latest installment. Maddie Wade is a wonderful author who makes you feel like a member of the Fortis Family.
Found this series after reading finding English. Which was about Henry English and part of operation alpha. Loved the book. It’s a romantic suspense but also has some supernatural mixed in with these people who have gifts. Usually like those who have dreams of the future or can heal others. Which is cool it gives a supernatural feel but in a way that makes it believable during such real life stories. Loved Dane and Lauren. I understood why he pushed her. He did it to protect her and in his eyes he couldn’t protect her while distracted and he couldn’t fathom losing her. Loved Lauren she is cool and badass when she needs to be. Can’t wait for Nate and skyes story or sly and Lucy.
Brilliant start to the series
This first book is an absolutely brilliant start to the series. If the rest of them follows this one, I will definitely read them all.

5 +++++++++++ Stars
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I’ve read the majority of this series and although they can be read as standalones I am so happy I finally went back and read book 1. This is absolutely one of my favorite series ever, and this author is in my top 10 all time favorites.
Dane and Lauren have been one of my favorite couples in this series and I’m so glad to finally have their story. I love how all of this came together and she also has a way of leaving me normally with cliffhangers that make me want to scream but in this series she doesn’t do that…What she DOES do is give you little snippets of what is to come all wound up in the ending of these books and just when you think YES no cliffhanger…BOOM she knocks you in the head with needing the next book like right now. Sorry i know that’s all a bit dramatic but its fact! LOL
Fortis Security and all that are involved with it are simply amazing, i finally got to read about all of the characters I have grown to love and see how this all began. It was kind of fun reading them out of order but now that I’ve read book 1, I will continue and reread every one of them again.
If you have not read anything by Maddie Wade first What are you waiting for? And Second start right here you will fall in love!!
Healing Danger
A Fortis Security Novel
Book 1
Fortis Security Series
By Maddie Wade
This is a suspenseful paranormal romance story. Filled with plenty of suspense.
Maddie Wade has really set this book up well. There will be no spoilers here, as you just need to read this fast paced story. Her characters, both good and evil, will keep you turning the pages. I love all the angst that is between the small family, that make up the Fortis Security team. I also love the angle this story has taken, and look forward to reading the series as it comes available. Never before have I read a story so full and yet so complete. Job well done Maddie Wade!
Funny enough, I have read a bunch of these by now but not the first couple. So it’s like going back to how it all started. I’ve seen mentioned in future books all that happened with Daniel and Claire, now I know more of that. I also now have a much clearer picture of so many involved in Fortis. Lauren and Dane are the main focus in book one. They’ve always had a connection but of COURSE he pulls away to protect her. Dumb men, I swear. Lots of action, and it’s just the beginning of the big bad Divine Watchers. If you haven’t dived into this series yet, I recommend it. Such a good read.
Healing Danger by Maddie Wade was an intriguing read. I liked being able to start this book and immerse myself within the pages. I loved the pull that each character had, their struggles and their journey. I enjoyed reading the romance that bloomed within the storyline. I’m glad to say that I can’t wait to read more books by Wade. This was a definite 4 Star book for me.
Healing Danger is an opening to Maddie Wade’s Fortis Security series that blows your mind! It is weird but the first introduction I got to the series was book five and it blew my mind! I fell in love with Maddie’s writing and I think by now I have read most of what she has written, including the Fortis Security series!
It all starts with the prologue … it makes you sit up and it grabs you and doesn’t let go AND then you get to the epilogue and I promise you, you will blindly start looking for the next book in the series … Congratulations, you have gotten addicted!
Healing Danger is the story of Lauren and Dane, their romance is steaming hot with a hint of sweetness that makes you fall in love with them, together… and add to it all this suspense and intrigue and twists and the paranormal and all those secondary character (who will be getting their own stories, one by one) and … what else does one need!
Healing Danger: A Fortis Security Novel Book 1 (Fortis Security Series) by Maddie Wade
5 stars
Ive read many books by this author but this was my first of this series and my goodness what a read.
Dane and Lauren have known each other for a little while through mutual friends and then lost touch due to Laurens ex.
Now Lauren is in danger and they must get to the bottom of many unanswered questions.
This was full of everything needed in a romantic suspence. There were times i wanted to strangle Dane because he made a stupid choice but in the end without those,it wouldn’t have been the same.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
Book one in the Fortis Security series and it kept me turning pages I had to know how Lauren and Dane’s second chance was going to turn out. I want to read the next book in this series. The story has you stop and think is this fiction or what that is how well-written it is.
Healing Danger (Fortis Security #1) by Maddie Wade was a okay read that kept my attention and followed at a good pace.
I got some mixed feelings going on with this one. I have read one other book in this series, and I did have some mix feelings about that as well. I’m not going to get into that. This story, this tale, was unique to say the least. I liked the overall plot and I loved the paranormal element. It added a little something extra and also adds a darkened subplot, that will be the driving force of this series.
What got me all mixed up is the love plot and how it felt a little off and forced. For the first book in a series, it read more like a continuation, things felt missed, especially between Lauren and Dane. Yes they do have history before the start of this story, more along the lines of long-distance friends. Dane was deployed (I don’t know a few years back, before this story starts, not sure of that timeline) and Lauren wrote him, which I might add wasn’t mention by Lauren (that he was deployed), so at first I thought they were chatting over a work like network.. nope.. not the case; so that was a tab bit confusing at first. They why they were tossed together was, just, anticlimactic. Now don’t get me wrong there is plenty of action and drama in this book, just not in regards to the love plot. (Not talking about the smut scenes.)
As for the mystery, and the stalker that’s trying to off Lauren, that was interesting, engaging and great. I was fully immersed in that storyline, and it’s what kept me reading. It made up for the flatness of the loveline, and really brought this story to life. It also pulled this read into that 4 star spot. I was a little on the fence there. But I have to warn you, this story ends on a cliff-hanger. As in, the major who-ha, is cut and now I have to get the second book to see what the hell is going on.
So yeah, overall this book is a pretty decent read. I liked almost everything, and I will be continuing this series. So please take my stamp of approval, and my high recommendation.
Happy Reading

Healing Danger, by Maddie Wade, is the first novel in the Fortis Security series. This romantic suspense is full of mystery, attraction/chemistry, and an amazing cast of lead and supporting characters. This author has created characters that each strongly stand apart from another without clashing within the story. Dane’s intensity in this story is the epitome of the alpha male. How he works to protect and support Lauren was superb. Not only was the romance in this book amazing, but the story sequence/plot was well thought out, put together and shared with the reader. It doesn’t feel thrown together, at all. Maddie Wade is a talented author that shines in this genre.
Healing Danger is the first book in the series A Fortis Security Novel by Maddie Wade and this book is a great read. Maddie has written a fast paced action love story with lots of mystery and intrigue, action and twists and turns you never see coming as well as a creepy factor. Maddie has woven plots that keep you on your toes as you follow these great men who fight to keep those they love safe. The story also has another element that adds another level to the story. Healing Danger will keep you glued to page after page as the story unfolds and the suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. Maddie has started the series with a bang and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Healing Danger: A Fortis Security Novel Book 1 (Fortis Security Series)
HEALING DANGER is the first book in the Fortis Security Series and because I am reading this series out of order, it was cool to go back to the beginning.
This is a suspense story with friendship, murder, mayhem, romance, secondary characters who are totally alpha (I’m glad they get stories in the future) and a few other things thrown in. There are twists and turns throughout and there is an element which I really wasn’t expecting even though I’ve read other books in the series.
It took me a little bit to get “into” the story but because I have enjoyed the author’s writing in the past, I was able to move ahead and get to a place of comfort in the book.
I recommend this author, this series and this book
Healing Danger is the first installment of the Fortis Security Novels by Maddie Wade. Maddie Wade’s writing style kept me on the edge of my seat. This story is about Lauren and Dane. This couple is playing games like any new couple does but there is a little danger involved with their pairing. Dane is the new team leader of Fortis and he is to protect Lauren. Lauren has caught the eye of a serial killer. There are several strong-arm guys within Fortis but Dane is playing this one close to his chest. There are several little distractions as the story goes, but Dane and Lauren keep the focus. Will Dane be able to keep Lauren and himself safe? Who will find the serial killer and thwart his plans?
Loved it! I truly enjoyed reading it, did not want to set it down for a moment. It was a twister, the storyline always continued adding new things to it, adding new characters. The storyline itself kept growing and expanding it never got boring. When you thought you knew what was going to happen, she changed things up. Dane & Lauren were very cute together. It was not an overnight romance and they made mistakes along the way. I loved the character she gave Lauren. Like most women, we have moments of weakness and then we learn from it and become stronger for it. We fight back or fight our way through. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the stories develop for the boy’s at Fortis or the comedy that comes with it.
