Grace Abernathy helped wounded soldiers during the American Civil War. Now that it’s over, she has to find a way to move on. Her parents think having her stay with her cousins in Myrtle Grove, South Carolina, can help her do just that. She isn’t looking for love after what she went through, but when she spends time with a returning soldier she knew from a long time ago, she wonders if he might … spark a rekindling in her heart.
Wyatt Hammond was conscripted to serve in the Confedrate military. Though he only served for a few months before the war ended, the horrors he saw during that time haunt him. He isn’t sure if he can ever be happy again, until he is reunited with an old flame who has the power to heal his broken heart.
Can Grace forget her painful past? Will Wyatt be able to let go of what he went through during the war? And what will happen when the man Grace is running from, finally catches up with her?

What a wonderful book!! This is a well written book that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. If you like a good clean historical romance, grab this book. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to everyone.
This is a very gripping book that keeps you fascinated from the first page to the last one. In this story, we have Grace who had worked alongside her doctor’s father during the War helping him patch up the injured men. The horrific things she saw were not fit for a lady of her upbringing but she did it and it left scars. Then there was Wyatt who had just become a doctor as the War called him to help in the effort and he wasn’t prepared for all he had to do. Wyatt and Grace knew each other before the War but after, they meet again and decide to try to put the pieces back together while dealing with the War’s effects on them. A wonderful story of healing!

I did receive an advanced copy of the book and the review is mine voluntarily.
ONE BLOCK BUSTING WONDER!!!
Splendid! Jenna once again ruled my world with this impressive and unique approach and perspective on our war torn history that totally blew me away. She captures all the heartache, loss, pain and anguish, but she does a brilliant job capturing all the hope, will to live, sacrifice, love and a time for miracles. She has definitely outdone herself with this fascinating storyline and engaging plot, using all the intellect, ingenuity, imagination and a unique insight for detail that captivates from start to finish. Add turmoil, distress, danger, mounting suspense and perplexing situations along with a boatload chaos, makes for one prize winning masterpiece. The dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a tempest, blasting it into a frenzy with a mind-blowing culmination. Observing the instant realization and charged atmosphere, along with a bevy of startling twists and stunning turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. The characters are relatable and complex with depth and on point personalities that blend and flow fluidly. The scenes are so graphically descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play out perfectly. Fantastic job Jenna, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This is a very gripping read that keeps you enthralled from the first page to the last. I love how the story flows. How well the characters are developed. And the twists and turns. The scenes are epic. This is definitely a read I recommend.

I throughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The story and characters keep you wanting to know what happens next. Grace and Wyatt will have to believe in healing and have faith that they can both get over the tragedies they have seen and faced.
I reviewed this book voluntarily for an honest review.
I’ve always been fascinated by the people of the South after the Civil War when they had to pick up the pieces of their lives. This book is about some of those people and just an example of how hard it was. It might have been essentially about the slaves but so many people lost everything they had and trying to deal with that was very hard. Even if you have large plantations, you had to find a way to come back from the huge losses. In this story we have Grace who had worked alongside her doctor father during the War helping him patch up the injured men.
