Freaking Mafi and his gorgeous amazing stud of a fiancé…
Why do they make me so sappy? Why do they have me sporting the dumbest, hearteye emoji of a smile?
Why can i not get enough of them? Or even the rest of the clan? (Minus the crow. #TheCrowMustGo)
The Ritchies made us a part of the epic and amazing #Marrow world. I am such a fan!
But can we talk about these two talented narrators!?!?! Holy smokes. Farrow and Mafi are alive in the husky, sexy alpha like…duo. Cendese and Harding need to do this again. and again. and again.
Headstrong Like Us pulled at my heartstrings and made me internally swoon. I am so happy that Maximoff and Farrow, my two favorite characters out of the entire Like Us crew, finally get married (and pick up a surprise along the way!). This was a fun book with all the elements I’ve come to expect out of Krista and Becca Ritchie book. This book is addictive and enjoyable.
I love this series so much. I am a HUGE fan of the pairing in this book and this book concluded their story so they won’t have any more main books at least I don’t think. They will appear in the next ones of course but they won’t be the focus or in their POV. Back to reviewing. I loved this. This one is the Marrow Wedding and it was everything! I loved how much stronger Farrow and Maximoff got and just believe me that this is a must read. Read in order of course!
First, I was thrilled that JF Harding and Alexander Cendese were able to narrate this book! It wouldn’t have been the same without them!!
Second, Krista and Becca were amazing! They have a way of describing each scene to make you feel like you are right there watching instead of looking on from the outside.
They tore at my heartstrings when Farrow suggested they become Ripley’s guardian. The love they have is so unconditional. Not just for each other, but for their family and friends. They even care for those they don’t know.
This book was about so much more then just a wedding. It was about family members going out of their way to make the wedding so special for Maximoff and Farrow. From Lily and Lo enduring the wrath of Samantha to Jane being the best wedding planner ever! If there is another wedding in a future book, I don’t know how Krista and Becca can top this one.
Yes, I did stay up all night to read this why do you ask?
This was good. I’ll be completely honest, there wasn’t a lot going on here, and I think it could have been a novella, but whatever. Slight spoilers ahead!
This book was very focused on Maximoff and Farrow, which okay, duh. But Jane and Thatcher’s books always made sure to show us a lot of the supporting cast, I felt like this book didn’t do that.
What I liked:
– The bachelor party scenes. It was the most we saw of other characters and were the most entertaining, lots of drama!
– The actual wedding scene. Despite what it sounds like, I don’t hate Moffy and Farrow. They’re actually really cute in small doses. The wedding scene was so emotional and I loved the vows.
– Oscar and Jack’s interactions. There weren’t a lot, but I honestly can’t wait for their book. I’m emotional just thinking about it.
– A surprising amount of Girl Squad scenes, I approve.
What I didn’t like:
– I thought the drama with Lo’s new therapist was unnecessary and didn’t add anything
– No Daisy Calloway??
– Lily and Lo fighting the entire book
– Sulli and Beckett didn’t make up
From the blurb I thought the wedding was going to go a lot worse, but everything went pretty smooth. Also the authors hinted that there was a big twist. I’m still trying to figure out what that twist was lol. I don’t think anything too shocking happened, but that might just be me.
I keep changing my review between three and four stars. It should probably be a 3 or 3.5, but I love this ensemble of characters too much. I’m just ready to move on from this couple, and the Hale family entirely for a while.
List of characters that definitely need a book: Charlie, Beckett, Luna, and Sulli. They all need at least 2-3 books.
Paul Donnelly is the only man who deserves rights. He deserves to be happy and find his family, he and Luna are perfect for each other. I have no idea who the perfect person for Charlie would be, but he deserves to find them. Sulli and Beckett have the potential to have amazing polyam relationship with their people, and I’m here for it.
Also, I need a Cobaretti wedding, stat! It will be a beautiful Italian affair.
It sucks that Charming Like Us won’t be out until JUNE, but I at least I have the Bad Reputation Duet to keep me company in two months. Willow and Garrison are coming for you…
I had a lovely time reading this book and visiting old friends…. It was great seeing Farrow and Moffy finally tie the knot. I also loved all the parts that had Lily and Lo in it….makes me want to re-read the while Addicted series again.. Looks like I might have addictive issues as well.
I am not gonna give it 5 stars like I originally did, to cross out all the one-star reviews before the book was even out. I am gonna go with 4 because the story was very long and some parts I found myself skimming a bit.
That said, I will read this book again in the future and I will never tire of these two awesome guys. Thankfully we will see them again in the future books, which I am very curious about. Can’t wait!!
A SERIES THAT I WISH WOULD NEVER END
When I went through the book the first time, I thought, It’s okay and would have given it a low rating. I re-read it and kept re-reading it and I became more and more engrossed with the characters and their feelings as I learned more about them. There are numerous nuances that can’t be caught in the first reading. The book is not written to be read once if you want to know how these people tick. Soon, you begin to think of them as real and you want to help them with their problems and rejoice in their happiness.
I adore this series. And I love Maximoff and Farrow. The world that the Ritchies have created in the Like Us universe is completely captivating. I just can’t get enough of all the intriguing characters of the Hale, Cobalt and Meadows families, or their bodyguards. Whenever there’s a new installment, I dive in and love every minute of it.
I can’t deny that Maximoff and Farrow – so far – is my favourite couple in the series. And continuing to read about them and the progression of their relationship is simply awesome. In a way, this book was almost like a really extended epilogue in that it’s a continuation that extends way after the initial ILUs. You get to follow them living in a solid relationship. It’s beautiful, sappy and wonderful.
So, trying to be somewhat objective in my review of this book is hard, but I’ll try.
As all of the previous books, Headstrong Like Us is written alternating between Maximoff’s and Farrow’s respective viewpoints. And I really like the dynamics between the two. They’re so obviously and helplessly in love with each other, but they express it in other ways than sentimental, flowery declarations. It’s depicted in such an understated, typically guy-way that is absolutely perfect. There couldn’t be a more suitable writing style to describe Maximoff’s and Farrow’s love story.
However, there is also a tendency to skip, or gloss over, significant incidents. At least incidents that I, as a reader, find important. Like Maximoff getting hurt, or conflicts that are resolved but without any details being provided. It’s a bit frustrating and annoying. Because really, it’s those juicy parts that keep the story interesting, and I felt a bit cheated on information on more than one occasion.
And also, I did have trouble with the baby.
Sure. It’s a big step to become guardians to a baby and you might say that it takes away some of the focus from the Marrow relationship. But most of all, it’s so bloody unrealistically described. It’s too picture perfect. Ripley, despite constant wailing is apparently the easiest baby in the world, having no effect on Maximoff’s and Farrow’s relationship. Which is bullsh*t. Because a baby up-ends everything. Mostly in a good way, but still. Sleepless nights, having another human being glued to you 24-7, vomit, pee and poop, incessant colicky screaming. The sleepless nights. And oh, yes, the sleepless nights. But in Headstrong Like Us, little baby Ripley is portrayed, not like an actual baby, but like a cute accessory. Something to be brought along anywhere or handed off when inconvenient. I can only surmise that the Ritchies don’t have kids themselves and haven’t met many parents with infants.
Still, despite these things, Headstrong Like Us is a great read. I particularly admire Farrow’s hair quality. His hair must be as strong as steel, the hardcore way he alternates between colouring and bleaching it without it dissolving into dust is enviable.

Maximoff and Farrow are back for one more epic book. I Loved this from beginning to end. I love this couple with everything in me. They are so wonderful and so perfect for each other. Their love is so pure and so real. They were made for each other! One of the Best twist happens in this and it makes me so incredibly happy. They have over come so much through out this series and this book. Is was the perfect way to end their POV. The wedding of the century it was. I laughed and cried and swooned so hard. This entire book is GOLD. I loved all the side character action we got. I am so head over heels in Love with this book and series. “Headstrong Like Us” is indescribable. I hope you all read it!! These characters own me heart and soul.

THIS BOOK WAS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. EVERY SINGLE MOMENT. EVERY SINGLE THING!
This book truly felt like a love letter to Marrow and to those of us who love this couple with all our hearts. We got to see them celebrate their love, expand their family. Yes, there’s still family drama, their is still crazy paparazzi and fans, there’s also new bodyguards, hints about the next books and so so much more!
I was either with a crazy happy smile on my face or tears in my eyes, both of joy and fear. This book is pretty emotional but not in the sense that bad things happen, in the sense that you feel so much love, pride and happiness for these two that it brings tears to your eyes. Their journey has been nothing but crazy epic, there is never a dull moment in these two’s lives. We got to watch them thrive, show a side of themselves they barely ever do, we watched them overcame every hurdle thrown at them, their fears and then we watched them walk down the aisle and OMG… what’s this falling from my eyes again?
You guys! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this book and these two! THEY COMPLETELY IRREVOCABLY OWN MY HEART. I didn’t think I’d ever love any other couple more than I love Lilo but Marrow totally have them beat. I just, this family…all three of them really… they are absolutely everything to me.
All the Hale family moments and how they all loved Farrow like a sibling/son, all the ones of Farrow and Thatcher, all the ones between Lily, Lo and Moffy…and Ripley, oh my heart. This book made me so so happy. It was beautiful, emotion and just freaking perfect.
I’m sad to think this is their last book, I’m gonna miss their POVS so unbelievably much. But we’ll see them in all other books… it won’t be the same but we’ll get to see just how everyone loves these two through their own eyes and I’m excited about that too. And of course, I cannot wait for Oscar and Jack, Banks/Sulli/Akara and Lunnely (pls pls announce this one soon, I’m dying) and anything else Krista & Becca want to give me!
The anticipation for this book was everything, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and devour it… and that’s exactly what I did. Who needs sleep when a book you’re anxiously waiting for releases? Not me. That’s why it’s 2:30am on release day and I’m writing this review.
Everything about this book and the wedding of Maximoff Hale to Farrow Redford Keene was AMAZING. I knew going into it I’d shed a few tears.. and I did. But they were all extremely happy tears.
From page one you’re sucked in. The anticipation of the wedding to the love Maximoff never thought he’d have, to his childhood crush no less. I never expected to fall in love with these two as much as I have, but I regret nothing. I love sharing their love with others because their love is, in a word Farrow uses so often.. pure. Deserving, equal, heartwarming and perfect.
There are so many pieces of this book that had my heart full of love. The relationships between Omega and the famous ones is beautiful, but out of all the relationships? I think the glimpses we see of Thatcher and Farrow are some of my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, Oscar, Donnelly and Farrow have one of my favorite friendships ever, but seeing Thatcher and Farrow bond over the one thing they have in common with each other and no one else? AmazIng.
This book was everything. I loved it start to finish. I can’t wait to read it again. I can’t wait for others to read it again. Why? Because everyone deserves to feel what Maximoff and Farrow have. A 100% true love that makes you better and let’s you experience everything you deserve with each other.
