Ok well I don’t even know where to start. First let me say that She had triggers and He is no different. This book was seriously messed up, twisted, sick, good, heartwarming, sexy, and a lot more words!! Natalie is a very strong heroine if you take everything she has been through and she isn’t in the but house. Joe …wooo when he loves he loves with everything! He was Natalie s rock and not did she need one! Once again Sal makes an appearance, I can’t wait to find out more about him! Kailee thank you for the gift and once again you have me rambling and basically speechless!!!
This book, this duet deserves more than 5 stars. Nat & Joe’s story is dark, intense, & emotionally exhausting! Kailee has a way with her stories that sucks you in & puts you through the emotional ringer then twists it makes it beautiful leaving you mind blown!! Another amazing must read story from Mrs. Samuels. This duet will stick with you long after you are done reading.
Holy crap!! Natalie’s and Joe’s story continues and it’s just as fantastic…if not more so…than She. This is the second part of a duet and should be read in order. It was dark and twisted with turns I did not see coming. I was hooked and could not put this down. I’m still processing and highly recommend this book and author. Just when I think she cannot get any better..she blows my mind.
Just when you think KRS has taken you to the deepest, darkest parts of her mind she comes along with something else that makes you think that she must have a whole world because one mind can not hold this much. “I won’t suppress my evil as I let the madman inside of me take hold. And be one very unkind motherf….r.” This isnt just something her character said in the book, I think its what KRS said when she was writing this story for us. I cant wait to see more for KRS and her dark world.
Absolutely speechless!! Kailee Samuels spins an intricate web of lies and deceit that is dark, twisted, intense and wicked.
You will be captivated from the first page and sent on a wild ride of every emotion possible. I would suggest reading the first part of this Duet, She, first.
Natalie is a strong woman that has been abused mentally, physically and sexually since the day she was born.
Joe is Natalie’s savior. He is so protective over her that he would destroy anything or anyone who would try to cause her harm. His unconditional love helps bring her from darkness to light. Will Natalie and Joe’s relationship finally be destroyed after lies are exposed and secrets are revealed? I would strongly recommend this duet, She / He!
You must read book 1,”She”, of the duet to fully appreciate the insanity of “He”. It’s the perfect complement to this book duet and so very very taboo and dark as the author, Kailee Reese Samuels, warns you at each book’s forewords.
Brilliant stories and oh so decadently dark!
Now on to read more of her brilliant stories!
Another winner by Kailee Reese Samuels,,,,,
I really enjoyed this book opposite of her other winning story of “She”,,,, if you havent read them yet, you are missing out,,,,
I would totally recommend this book to anyone,,,, actually THESE books as I really think you should read “She” first,,,, it really would help you to understand “He” afterwards,,,,
Dark, Emotional read. But I Loved it!! There were times I thought i wanted to put it down and walk away…. but i couldnt. Kaille is an amazing Author!!
WOW! This book was amazing, twisted and had no boundaries. I don’t know how many times I would read a sentence and my mouth would just hang open in shock. Sometimes, I would go back and re-read to make sure I read it correctly. This is Natalie and Joe’s story. Trust me, it does not disappoint. I look forward to reading more by Kailee.
I was honestly a little frightened to embark on this installment of the duet. But knew that I needed to know the outcome, I still can’t really explain anything that happens in this book as it is full of twist and turns and spoilers would be easy to give away. All I know is that my emotions are a mess, I really can’t get my head around that people actually do this in this world and hurt people with such cruelty and vileness.
I have found again that this book has left a mark on me and it will be a long time before I will let this book go. I can honestly say this duet is one of the most interesting, informed and well written books I have ever had the pleasure to read. I love that this author didn’t shy away from a subject that is not nice, it isn’t all heart and flowers. It’s brutal, in parts disgusting but it’s someone’s truth, God it someone’s life.
I really recommend this book and although it’s brutal. As some people say love is brutal but also beautiful too and in the midst of the crazy there was a whole lot of beauty. Bravo Kailee Reece Samuels.
“He” is an incredible Book. It’s dark, twisted and intense, it’s a story that captivates the reader, it’s emotional and exhausting, but impossible to put down.
Natalie was a an abused women, mentally, physically and sexually. Joe was to be her saviour, he’s now left searching for proof of her tormentors guilt.
Many secrets are revealed and Joe’s love for Nat is strengthened.
I loved this amazing duet.
**PLEASE NOTE: You MUST read She before this book**
This duet was heart wrenching and I was so captured by the characters and where the next twist in the story came. It was absolutely so raw and real reading about Joe and Nat. KRS never disappoints in her writing ability. By far one of the best authors, ever, when it comes to the reality of things.
This is defiantly one of KRS’s best books. When we left off with She, we were introduced to Natalie and Joe. Natalie had so many deep, dark secrets Joe didn’t even scratch the surface. Now we continue with He. There are so many feelings and heartbreak Joe and Natalie endure. Can he save her from herself and family and make her believe she’s his queen? Does Natalie feel worthy of Joe’s love? You won’t want to miss this book!
Without so much as a drawn breath, He hurtles us into the intense second book of this fabulous duet. We are again submerged in a dark, sometimes savage, deeply disfunctional world that also brings us love, loyalty, courage and endurance. Both Joey and Natalie(particularly the latter) suffer both physically and emotionally and the disclosures will make your blood either boil or run cold at times.
Another hurricane of a book which displays Ms Samuels unique and enthralling writing style. I can’t get enough of it!!
You must read the first book, She, before this one. This is an emotionally intense read of pain, suffering, retribution, and soul-deep love. This is not a flowery love story, but a raw ugly shameful look at child abuse that didn’t stop, and one man’s struggle to overcome these vile monsters and save the tortured woman he loves. It’s not beautiful. It’s ugly. It’s heartwrenching. I’m a mess. I’m glad it’s over. The End.
The psychological thriller continues in HE (part two of the She/He Duet). This book takes everything you think you know, and flips it upside down and wrecks your thoughts like a Category Five Hurricane. This book is for those readers who like the dark and laugh in the face of triggers. Come step into the pitch dark and leave everything you know at the door…
You must read ‘SHE’ before reading ‘He’ in order to understand what is going on and why – ‘He’ starts where ‘She’ ends. – the She/He Duet. This Duet is by far the best books the author has written to date. A heart wrenching story about a girl with a horrible past that keeps taking over her present. Kailee has done an outstanding job with this Duet, she takes you places most authors wouldn’t dare. Hang on tight! This wild ride can make you cry as much as it makes you laugh.
Natalie went through things no one should ever have to and it started when she was only a young girl. She never had a chance to be normal, her “lifestyle” ruined her. At least she thought there was no chance at being in love or having anyone truly care about her until she met Joe. Joe becomes her life line in multiple ways. Now Natalie and Joe must face her past together as a team.
“I will make them scurry out from beneath the surface and take sight of all the ugly. The light will burn them and leave nothing but ash.”
Holy hell I need a moment to collect my thoughts, my heart, my feelings, and my breath. Going into this book I needed answers. Will everyone make it out okay, will everyone be punished, and most of all, how will it end? We are given Natalie and Joey’s dark, twisted and at times beautiful journey in HE.
“We still as every pain and pleasure she has ever known become mine to keep, and I become the one to carry her burdens and enjoy her bliss.”
The horrors that Natalie has had to endure are beyond horrible but she is brave, tough and I would go as far to say that she is indestructible. I’ve been waiting to get inside her head and I loved her voice. Joe is out for blood. I fell in love with him even more in this one. He definitely proved, without a doubt, he is not a weakling. Both characters grow and become stronger and fiercer.
“I won’t suppress my evil as I let the madman inside of me take hold. And be one very unkind motherfucker.”
This book, this duet had me in knots. I have never read anything quite like it before. The first book was dark but this one is pitch black. Some parts were painful to read but Joey and Natalie’s love shines through the darkness and is beautiful, strong and unconditional.
“I’m the sun and wind and rain—I’m going to watch you grow into a marvelous masterpiece.”
KRS always challenges and pushes my boundaries until I’m on the edge grasping for more. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say that I absolutely love when authors cross over and intertwine characters within a new book. I couldn’t be happier with the ending and the last chapter actually made me giddy. Yes, giddy!! If you crave the dark I highly recommend this duet.
“Our island will surface from the waters in our rebirth. I must believe. I must have faith.”

Kailee Reese Samuels has written another fantastic book! You definitely need to read She, the first book of the duet to understand what’s going on but this duet is a definite must read. I love how much Joe loves Natalie and never gives up on her. These two go on quite an emotional, dark twisted ride on their journey of love and what an ending. Looking forward to reading the next book by this fantastic author.
Oh my gosh I cried, laughed, was angry! This book has me on an emotional rollercoaster and I absolutely loved it. Joe and Natalie fight for their love, at first I thought Joe was weak but he most assuredly showed he is very unkind. Natalie I had a love/hate feel for until I finally got to where I understood her, incredibly strong woman with a pure heart. Plot twist holy crap what you thought you know ehh maybe not, and the ending BLEW me completely out if the water was totally unexpected absolute must read
