I never looked back after skipping out on my own wedding, even if it did leave me estranged from most of my family. Eight years later, I have the life I’ve always wanted. As an advertising account executive, my world is damn near perfect.
Until I come face-to-face with my past. With the man I once loved. The man who holds my future in his hands. The man who’s hell-bent on getting even with me for leaving him at the altar.
Even with all the unfinished business between us, I still love Knox Montgomery. The only problem?
He loves me…KNOT.

Just know that I am fanning myself just sitting here thinking about this book. The steamy factor in this book is off the charts. I fell in love with this book right from the beginning.
I have come to love RC Boldt’s words over the last year or so. She has made me laugh and swoon like it is no one’s business. This book is just another notch in that belt. I couldn’t put this book down.
There is always something about angst and steam that go hand in hand. If they are delivered right, they can be explosive. That is just what this story is. The reconnecting of these two characters is completely explosive is all the right ways.
Emma and Knox are on my list of favorite fictional characters. This book is one of my favorite books of the year. This is definitely you shouldn’t pass up. If you haven’t purchased this book, I would highly advise it. A word of advice though… Have a fan handy to cool yourself off with while reading, and be prepared to need a cold shower or two before you finish this book!
I’m a huge fan of second chance books, and this not only didn’t disappoint but has to be one of my favourites, ever. It had a runaway bride, it had misunderstandings, it had both parties feeling wronged, it had anger, angst and lust by the bucket load. It also had amazing writing, a very fresh feeling plot and so many feels I’m a little dazed now I’ve finished reading it.
There isn’t a single thing I would change about this book. It had a hot, angry, sexy and lovable hero who, once he stopped being quite so angry, was so just swoon worthy. Oh Knox, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. We had an independent, strong and yet vulnerable heroine who had the hottest best friend but also a very broken heart.
The book is told from both Emma Jane and Knox’s point of views, and is written first person. There are some flash back scenes, when I got to the first one I admit to rolling my eyes. We’d just got to a ‘big moment’ and I really didn’t want to wade through a long scene from the past. Guess what? It was REALLY short, and this was the case through out the story. Any flashbacks were long enough to give the pertinent details but short enough not to pull you out of the ‘present’. I’ve never experienced them incorporated this well in any other book.
There’s a lot of to-and-froing, unrequited (and requited) lust and love-to-hate-to-love you moments. Yet the amazing writing, plot and characters mean the story never feels repetitive, irritating or boring. Whilst the actual reason for the split might be considered simple, it was also clear it was as much, if not more, due to immaturity and Emma Jane feeling she lacked control in her life.
There are sub-plots and twists and revelations that keep adding depth and interest to the story. The supporting characters are so well written and I was delighted to see that Becket will deservedly be getting his own book – that guy provided so much light relief and really showed the meaning of true friendship.
This book had me gripped from the off and desperate for a HEA for the pair of them. Yet even when we finally have the full confrontation and reveal to each other, there is still plenty of story left. This book has it all, funny moments, intense chemistry, heart wrenching angst, anger and betrayal and one heck of a lot of hope and love.
Quite simply, this really is a must read book.
5 heart-warming stars! This book put the ROMANCE in the Second Chance.
He Loves Me Knot by R.C. Boldt was a direct knockout to my sensible heart. I was left with a BIG book hangover. The author has the ability to express surprisingly the human feelings through her pen. I felt a mix of feelings while reading this book. It was like I was experiencing a roll coaster of emotions, all at the same time. R. C. Boldt broke my heart and also she put every little piece back together.
Love is the purest feeling that exists over the earth. There is nobody who has not experienced it. It comes naturally for everyone. Sometimes is easy and sometimes is hard. You can find it in mysterious ways. You find it once or twice depending on fate and when you get a second chance, you must take advantage of it to the fullest.
This book is a piece of art that everyone shall read. It is beautifully writing. I couldn’t put it down. I felt a lot of empathy for Emma Jane. I don’t know if I could be strong as she was. I felt tears on my eyes. Lies destroy everything like the misunderstandings. When you believe you have all to be happy, you can be the envy of people who surround you. They can hurt you because of their selfishness. A little misunderstanding has the power to break your heart. It can take you away from the love of your life.
“There is something so incredibly unsetting about facing the man you once loved, the man you were once ready to spend the rest of your life with, the man whose body you knew like the back of your hand… The man who single-handedly shattered your heart into tiny fragments with his betrayal.”
Emma Jane’s heart was broken. Her soul mate betrayed her. However she survived. It made her stronger. She abandoned the place where she lived. Fortunately, a friend helps her to recover. Becket was her friend without benefits. He saved her. They were two lonely souls who connected in a platonic way. Emma Jane thought that her life was taking the course she wanted. She is a successful woman, the best element of F&F. However, destiny had other plans for her.
“And even after all this time, there’s a sharp pinch in the center of my chest, like my heart still recognizes the man who broke it.”
The fact that the owner decided to sell the magazine where she works will mean more than an opportunity to demonstrate her value as a professional. Her past is going to bite her present and future. The new owner will shatter the life that cost her so much work to re-build.
Knox Montgomery is a handsome man. His powerful presence could make you burn like a bonfire. He loved –loves deeply. He is the kind of man who only loves once. The woman he loved hurt him. He needs to move on but how could he if he doesn’t have a closure with the woman who left him without an explanation. Seeing her again won’t be easy for him, neither for her.
“She’s always had a hold on me like no other. Emma Jane Haywood has always been the keeper of my heart and soul.”
Things between Emma Jane and Knox will be mind-bending. Fate is giving them a second chance. They can’t deny what their hearts really want. The attraction, lust, passion and love are still there. Their souls recognize their soul mate. Their bodies missed the touch of the other. Their hearts beat in synchrony. Misunderstandings shattered the future they planned but everything will be clear. They deserve a closure and their happily ever after.
“I never got over Emma Jane. I still love her– the woman who shattered my heart.”
I have read Second Chance Romances before but this book put the ROMANCE in the Second Chance. It exceeded my expectations. The plot is unique. The characters were well build and they were quite complex. This book is highly recommended for those romantic souls who believe that LOVE can heal anything. It contains an overwhelming story that will take your breath away.
If there weren’t for misunderstandings, there would be no second chance romances. HE LOVES ME ….KNOT is true to the trope – left at the altar due to a misunderstanding and then failing to communicate to resolve the problem before hearts are broken.
This book had a set of secondary characters that were crucial to bringing Knox and EJ through their heartbreak, some tragedies, because they were such good friends, even helped get them back to one another.
It’s a good book you won’t want to put down until it’s finished.
Emma Jane and Knox
I really thought I was going to give this book five stars but I just couldn’t. Some things just did not make sense, just did not add up. This story really grabbed my heart and was close to being great. Becket was a wonderful character and I’d love to read his story.
Stayed up all night reading this book. I’ve maybe done that 3 times in my life. Just an all around good read.
Enjoyed reading this book. Overhearing a conversation and w/o discussing it can lead to heartbreak. Families can be hard on a relationship but great character building from a misunderstanding 8 years ago until current. Interesting way to insert the past leading to the current day was interspaced throughout the book. Just little interjections, a few pages long, but helped you understand how they got to where they were in the beginning of the story when they meet up again…and then you find out he did it intentionally. WOW
Quick read, not attention consuming but if you need something to while away a couple of hours, amusing enough.
Spoilers ahead so skip if you don’t want to know.. I wanted to like it more, but there were some glaringly obvious issues that made it hard for me to listen to. Brude runs out of her wedding after hearing her fiance having a rather unpleasant conversation with her ass of a father without a single word?? Really? She runs away, he’s mad and holds a grudge for 8 yrs only to buy the very magazine she works at to “exact his revenge”. Again….really? He basically tortures her at work, they hop into bed, then he fires her on the word of an intern? So much for being sophisticated smart business people. WTH?? Oh and then to gratuitously throw in an old friend who was awful and verbally vicious with no real back story..still trying to figure that out. And if I had Emma’s family I’d have never gone back. Even the lovable grandfather was a manipulative…for lack of a better work jerk. If you can suspend any and all reality and just want a second chance romance than give it a shot. If not, move along.
I throughly enjoyed reading this captivating story. The characters are realistic and easy to connect with and I couldn’t put this book down, because I needed to know what happens next.
Forever love lasts in this fun read that RC Boldt has written. You will enjoy the
witty. fun and romantic read. I give this book 5 stars.
4.5 stars. I listened to this book and the narration was fantastic. This was my first book by RC Boldt and it won’t be my last. I loved the dynamic between Knox and EJ and I especially loved Beckett. The love EJ felt for both of these men jumped off the pages. I hurt so badly for both characters so many times, the only small issue I had is that this book was a little longer than I felt it had to be. I really wished they talked earlier in the book and had an actual start to their relationship again in the book. It went on too long with them not being together. I felt the pain that they both felt and absolutely loved that both of them still had each other in their hearts. They never stopped loving one another and they never let anyone else in. Fate is a real thing. I believe it.
This is a first read for me by this author. For some reason I thought this was going to be a romcom…it was KNOT (<---- hahaha I crack myself up). I think the plot as a whole was sub par. The reason behind Emma Jane and Knox was only a miscommunication. I just think with the first chapter I felt like I was almost thrown in the middle of the book. I didn't understand Emma Jane's background how she was basically being prepped into Stepford Wife for Knox. I think there should have been a few paragraphs in before the whole runaway bride to flesh out the story. The flashback scenes also didn't make sense to me considering they were few and far in between. Basically I was disappointed in this one. Knox and EJ weren't even really working for me as a couple and it seems like she loved Beckett more.
He Loves Me…Knot is a fabulous second chance romance. True to RC Bolt form she brings us the humor along with swoon worthy moments. I love how all her characters are so relatable and make you feel like you have been apart of their lives from the very beginning. Emma Jane and Knox are smoking together. As you read you really do wonder why Emma Jane walked away from Knox like she did. Emma Jane is a sweet heart and a tad stubborn. Knox is super swoon worthy and an all around amazing guy. You add Emma Jane’s best friend Beckett into the mix and you are in for a treat. I love how Emma Jane and Knox are pushed back together to resolve everything between them. You can just feel that the love hasn’t died between them at all. Sometimes love can wait and eventually evolve into ever lasting love the second time around when it is meant to be. He Loves Me…Knot will keep you glued to the pages. This should be picked up today if you haven’t had a chance yet.
This is a second-chance romance at its best! I loved Emma Jane and Knox as much for their smart humor as for their sexy sparks. And Beckett as the best friend was totally swoon-worthy.
He Loves Me…Knot!!!
Talk about a problem…These two have a big one. A shared past and unconfronted troubles only stir up epic drama.
Hurt with bruised and battered hearts, these two navigate around the giant elephant in the room until it sits and leaves a big ole pile at their feet. Bless their hearts!
RD Boldt keeps you on your toes with this one. With a cast of characters that it’s impossible not adopt as your own friends, she pulls you in and holds you captive.
But the real questions is…He loves me or Knot?
reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
I’m in L.O.V.E. with this book, with the writing and foremost with KNOX. Emma Jane move aside, Knox Montgomery is mine! *Haha*
What can I say? It’s really hard not ramble on about my love for this book… because I love it so much!! =P
I kid you not when I say that Knox is THE perfect guy! He is confident, attentive, loving, a perfect gentleman and great handyman, and not to forget he looks HOT in whatever he wears or doesn’t wear *wink*.
The author created a world in which I wanted to be part of because, Knox and EJ aside, the minor characters and all the little details she worked into the story made the entire book so much better. From one of the best secondary characters, Becket Jones, to the grandfather, Caroline (Knox’s Mother) and Wells, they all had something special and added their part in the success of making this book so perfect.
This book was told in dual POV with flashbacks to when they’ve met in school. It was the perfect mix to get me hooked on the story and I was as enamored with the young characters as I was with them in the present.
There was so much underlying heartache and pain but also tons of love and funny parts which loosened up the tension brought up by the whirlwind of emotions. I felt every nuance of change in their feelings and was deeply engrossed in this book.
So, be prepared because the author really has a way with words and once you’re pulled into the magic she creates, you don’t ever want to leave.
The Story:
Eight years ago, she left him at the altar and ran. After years of trying to move on, building a new life and career in Jacksonville, Emma’s heart still aches. When her past catches up with her, her world stands upside down once again. The risk of losing her job has Emma working harder than ever, but can she just go on as if there’s been no past between them? As if she has no feelings for him anymore? As if he doesn’t make her heart flutter and her breath hitch when his piercing green eyes are focused on her?
Knox once had everything in life he always wanted, until she ran and left his heart in shreds. Now having the opportunity for retribution he notices that anger isn’t the only feeling he has when it comes to Emma Jane, the woman he once loved and wanted to spend the rest of his life with. But how could there ever be trust and love after what had happened? He must find closure once and for all. Though is this even what he wants?
Thoughts:
I love this book! The author outdid herself with this work and rendered me speechless that I feared I had no words to write my review, but surprise, surprise, I did manage to find a word or two =P
It got quite long actually even though I didn’t want to repeat myself and just blab on but I guess I couldn’t stop myself *goes into hiding*. Anyhow, I love this book. It’s as simple as that. There’s nothing more to say. This book had it all and I need to go and find myself a guy like Knox. So please excuse myself, I’m off looking for the perfect and non-existent guy. Because Knox ruined me for any other man…
I was swooning throughout the book and scared for what’d happened and that there wouldn’t be a chance for them to make up because Knox was hurt so deeply. But he couldn’t have been any better. He’s like a wet dream come true, every woman’s fantasy, too good to be true, the most perfect guy ever. Definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends.
Knox and EJ were just the cutest couple ever and he was such a charmer. I couldn’t blame her for giving in to him, I would have loved him too because I like me a perfect gentleman. The chapters of them at school were so adorable.
I was grinning so hard it almost hurt when I read about a certain character from one of the author’s previous books visiting in this story. He was one of my all-time favorites and I was happy to have him back even when it was just for a short while.
You know those people that highlight almost entire paragraphs? Yeah, I’m one of those people and this book brought out the beast in me because I highlighted the hell out of this book LoL I just couldn’t stop myself.
Anyway, all’s well that ends well and now I’m so excited for Becket’s book ‘cause I can’t wait to find out who the lucky lady will be to catch him!!
RC Boldt is one of my top favorite authors of 2017!!! He Loves Me KNOT is so so good!!!! It’s refreshing, hilarious, thoughtful and sexy. I love a good rom com and combined with a second chance romance….that’s a real winner for me. Emma Jane is a sweet, spunky and strong woman who due to a misunderstanding, left her fiancée Knox (Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome) at the altar. Eight years later…they find each other as Knox is now her new boss. This is where the fun and sexual chemistry begins!!! Emma Jane and Knox’s story is romantic and I’m glad they were able to work out their issues, leave the past behind and return to the all consuming and loving relationship they had before. Emma Jane’s hot and sexy best friend Becket is hilarious and made the story even better. I’m really looking forward to reading his book!! Congratulations on another good one RC Boldt!!
Great book. I loved how it was a build up over time for Knox and Emma Jane to reconnect. This book shows that that 2nd chances do happen. It also points out that you don’t jump to conclusions with out hearing the other persons side of the story. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I read the 2nd one 1st so it doesn’t really matter just read both you won’t regret it!
“Sometimes love needs a second chance”
Knox and Emma Jane are high school sweethearts on the verge of getting married…until she hears something that makes her think its not such a great idea. So she leaves. She befriends a quarterback (Beckett) and starts a whole new life, leaving her fiance, family and friends behind. Eventually her past catches up to her and that it where all the fun begins.
I loved that there was a bit of angst in this story, but not enough to make you full on ugly cry. There was quite a bit of humor. The friendship between Beckett and Emma Jane is rather interesting. The story can be a little confusing because it is from both POV and there are a lot of flashbacks foe both characters. One of the greatest things about this book was that the chapters were not too long and they usually didn’t break with a cliffhanger, which made it easier to put down when I had to tend to my child. This was my first book by R.C. Boldt and it will not be my last….. I am especially looking forward to getting to know Beckett and his story better…. I want him to get his HEA also!
