I never looked back after skipping out on my own wedding, even if it did leave me estranged from most of my family. Eight years later, I have the life I’ve always wanted. As an advertising account executive, my world is damn near perfect.
Until I come face-to-face with my past. With the man I once loved. The man who holds my future in his hands. The man who’s hell-bent on getting even with me for leaving him at the altar.
Even with all the unfinished business between us, I still love Knox Montgomery. The only problem?
He loves me…KNOT.

From the moment that R.C. Boldt gave me a set of Blue Balls, I just knew I would love anything she could write and I was correct. I love a good second chance romance.
“When the past knocks on your door, it’s because there’s unfinished business.”
Really, there is nothing “Knot” to love about this book. She mixes together a fantastic combo of romance and humor. None of it is forced or over the top, making every character pop off the pages and seem so real.
I need Becket’s story…like yesterday. Talk about insta-love!! I love him. This secondary character stole my heart!! Bring on 2018!
Emma Jane Haywood grew up as a proper Southern girl, with cotillion and deportment classes, the perfect debutante knowing what her father expected from her, but despite it all, she had a rebellious streak that could not be contained.
Knox Montgomery was her high school sweetheart and, though people said they wouldn’t last when they went to college, they defied all odds…until Emma Jane walked out on him on their wedding day.
Eight years later, Emma Jane has made a life for herself away from her family in Mobile. She has great friends and a promising job in Florida when Knox walks back into her life.
I really enjoy second chance stories and this one definitely did not disappoint. We have 2 people who loved each other and never found closure, both hurt by their actions and incapable of truly moving on. Their story is sweet, romantic and heartfelt and it really touched me.
Emma Jane and Knox are really nice characters, grounded and charming in their own way and there are also secondary characters worthy of falling in love with as well. The kind of friends that will help you realize when it’s time to listen to your heart.
*Received an ARC for which I voluntarily provided an honest review*
Emma Jane left her groom at the alter. She thought he was the love of her life until she overheard things she wasn’t supposed too. She’s determined to make a new start in life and be the success she always knew she could be. Life seems pretty damn good until her past walks in and makes an unexpected appearance . . . as her new boss.
Emma Jane broke Knox’s heart when she left him standing at the alter wondering what went wrong. When he had the chance to buy out the magazine she worked for and be her boss, he couldn’t resist . . . after all, he is owed a little revenge and maybe an explanation after all these years of heartache.
However, even with unfinished business thick as mud between them, their attraction for one another is still undeniable. and, maybe there’s something else there two if either one can find it in their hearts to forgive and forget and give their love a second chance. Will they both be doomed to love the one that broke their hearts or can they find a way to sort through the past to find a new future?
He Loves Me . . . Knot was a fabulous second chance romance. High school sweethearts that were destined for love, until misunderstandings and hurts cause a rift that may never be mendable. Both move on and become successful, yet neither can claim another successful relationship as they both remain rooted in their heartaches.
I simply adored Emma Jane’s character. She is everything a sassy and strong willed Southern woman should be . . . right down to the “bless your hearts” she utters at times. When she was at her lowest, fate intervened again, placing her now best friend Beckett Smith in her path. The ultra dashing quarterback is everything Emma Jane needs in a best friend, and she is just fine with them keeping their relationship completing platonic even if tabloids say otherwise. This may be one of my favorite male/female friend pairings in a book to date, as they really do love one another in so many ways except romantically. They are everything the other needs.
Knox is a fine Southern gentleman who just can’t move past his love for Emma Jane without knowing why she left him that fateful day. Even when he wants to make a statement as her boss, forcing her to prove herself, he just can’t help but to slip back into his feelings for her. He’s willing to take what she can offer until he can win her back.
Their relationship has a lot of bridges to mend, and it takes both learning to trust and love again. It’s a gorgeous story. 4 stars from this very excited reader knowing that Becket’s book is coming up soon!
I adored He Loves Me…Knot.
I liked Emma Jane and Knox. I wouldn’t have done what EJ did in the beginning of book but I know how it is to be young and make rash decisions. It was saddening to see the two suffer so much heartbreak when it was clear how much they love each other. They just needed a little help realizing it for themselves….and help is exactly what they got in the form of EJ’s best friend Becket, her grandad and Knox’s best pal Wells. Their combined attempts to get EJ and Knox back together had me laughing out loud.
Emma Jane and Knox’s Story was sweet, funny and emotional. A great second chance read that I would recommend.
I can’t wait to read Becket’s story.
A sweet tale of what happens when someone finds the one who got away.
Emma ran from Knox and their wedding in tears eight years ago. So when she rebuilt her life and Knox becomes her new boss and she has to “prove” herself in order to keep her job, she fights everything to make it happen. The only thing is her heart hasn’t gotten the memo that Knox is the enemy. I loved this second chance love story. I don’t know why I haven’t read RC Boldt before because this book was an amazing journey that I would revisit over and over again. Great characters and their story developed naturally and wasn’t rushed. The secondary characters had me cracking up with laughter. This truly was a perfect romance and one not to be missed.
A misunderstanding can change so many lives: it can destroy a love so deep that it shatters hearts. It can put you in the path of a person who becomes an essential part of your life.
He Loves Me…Knot brought all this and more. Emma Jane and Knox were perfect! I can’t say enough about how I felt wrecked, happy, sad, and had my heart put back together.
Beautifully written by an amazing author that I discovered a few months ago.

He Loves Me… Knot went a little differently than I expected, but that didn’t turn out to be a bad thing. When the story got going, I thought there would be more of the love/hate thing between Knox and Emma with him determined to get revenge, but it didn’t quite play out that way. The book is well-written and witty, and the characters are absolutely fabulous. It’s not often that I like the secondary characters as much, or even better at times, than the main characters, but in this case, I most certainly did. Becket is absolutely charming and everyone needs a Granddad like Emma’s.
This is my first read by RC Boldt, but after reading this charming and witty romance, it won’t be my last. In fact, I’ll be anxiously awaiting Becket’s story!
This is only my second R.C. Boldt book and I can now safely say, she will be forever added to my one-click author list!
He Loves Me Knot is a fun, sexy and at times heartbreaking second chance romance. Emma Jane and Knox fell in love so many years ago but due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, Emma Jane leaves Knox at the alter.
However, while running away from her future, she runs into a life that she never thought possible all with the help of her new and unexpected best friend, Becket. Emma Jane gets through the trials and tribulations with a little help from her friends, all while leaving her past behind.
Until her past waltzes right back into her life…in the worst way possible..as her new boss.
He Loves Me Knot was one of THE best second chance romances that I’ve read. My emotions ran wild throughout the books. Emma Jane and Knox were so very perfect for each other and the secondary characters brought so much more to the book! I am happy to see that Becket will be getting his own book soon!
I cannot say enough about this book. I was glad to catch up with characters from a previous novel, to get to know Emma Jane and Knox and to fall in love with Becket! I cannot wait for more from R.C. Boldt!!
This is the first book my R.C. Boldt that isn’t a RomCom so I didn’t know what to expect and I can say that I truly enjoyed this book. The emotions that were wrung out of me had me completely addicted to this book. I could not put it down and had to see how it was all going to play out. These two characters had such love for each other but lost their way. Sometimes two people are meant to be but the time may not be right. Fate sometimes has to take a part in our lives and we have to sit back and see how it all goes.
My heart broke for both of these characters. I was for sure that Knox was in the wrong but keep your mind open because things are not always how they seem. They were both so young and insecurities and trust issues can wreak havoc. Sometimes people much mature in order to realize things and to truly find happiness and that is what this book is all about.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to get Becket’s story. I love a second chance romance and this one was truly beautiful, it will have your emotions running the gamut.
Emma Jane and Knox were great. RC Boldt did an amazing job with these characters. Emma Jane walks away from her wedding and looks ahead, Fast forward years later when who does she cross paths with….Knox the man she walked away from. All the challenges these two face and have to overcome!
Boldt did an exceptional job yet again!! Fan for life 😉
In life there are aha and uh – oh moments. My aha moment came when I discovered RC Boldt, the uh – oh moment has me pondering why I’d waited so long. He Loves Me … Knot captures all the angst and drama of love, life and regret. All the flaws that make us human mixed with the humor and friendships that make life bearable. Emma Jane is a bit of a mess. Her past comes back to haunt her. In the flesh! What happens when personal meets professional? Fireworks and maybe, a second chance.
