he was doing so darn well, and then…I’m at Lacey Heine’s wedding shower, trying to defend my territory as her best friend forever, when I meet the guy who sweeps me off my feet. Matthew Stoval makes me feel like I’m the sexiest, sweetest thing in the room. A romantic dinner later, and I’m already head-over-heels.One thing leads to another, and soon he’s making me breakfast and I’m cleaning up … he’s making me breakfast and I’m cleaning up in his bathroom. I know we’re not meant to last. I dread saying goodbye, but we can’t repeat this again. Then he burns toast … and learns a secret I haven’t told anyone
else yet.

This is the first book in this series that I’ve read and now I want to read the previous books even though they can be read as stand alone books. Clean, cute and wholesome romance that’s a quick read. You’ll fall in love with the characters and the story line. Wonderfully written.

Humor, great characters, funny plot, and romance.
What else do you need, this story has it all.
Great author.
Quick, clean, cute Kitty and Matty?
Really well-written, cute romance featuring Kathy, a pharmaceutical sales rep, and her BFF’s colleague and skill-challenged toast maker Matthew. Their relationship develops quickly (it HAS to in this short novella), but it’s a gentle, conversation first, and lots of it, connection with intimacy of mind first. Kathy has a predicament that could put the nix on their courtship but Matthew has to be one of the nicest, most supportive guys Kathy could have met; I fell for him too!
I can’t think of anything I did not like about this novella. I think I now have to go back and read He Made Pasta and He Made Biscuits. Not that this story requires the previous to make sense, but I would like to learn more about the early romances for Kathy’s BFF Lacey and Lacey’s other good friend/driven colleague Angela. I have a feeling I will enjoy their stories just as much!
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Kathy is the Maid of Honor for her best friend, Lacey Heine, but she is stressed as she flies into Chicago on Saturday morning for the wedding shower — which the fiancé’s sister organized instead. The flight itself wasn’t good either with a baby crying the entire time, the woman next to her having to pee multiple times, and heavy turbulence almost requiring her use of the bag they provide. With traffic unbearably heavy, taking too long in the hotel shower, and indecision about which of the 5 dresses to wear, Kathy is an hour late to the event!
Kathy talks herself into becoming more and more anxious, comparing how alike she was to Lacey during their school years, but how different out in the business world. But when she gets this way, it all bubbles out with over-the-top, exuberant energy, turning on the extrovert, which is what made her such a great salesperson. So with a squeal and a giant hug, she greets her best friend who then introduces her to the groom, Hadley Turner, once she got him off his phone. He’s lean and not at all like the beefcake type they used to go for in high school. Then Lacey dragged her over to meet Angela, her “other best friend”, who was standing beside one of those beefcake types! Angela Valverde and Matthew Stoval are co-workers who work with Lacey, their boss — and Angela is definitely not friendly toward Kathy. Lacey takes Angela’s hand for moral support meeting some new relatives, and leaves Kathy with Matthew to watch the gift table.
Matthew saw Kathy enter the restaurant. From that first glimpse, he knew that she was the woman of his dreams, the girl he wants to marry. His priorities are friends, family, and the dream girl who just strutted into his life. He would very much like to be her Prince Charming. He’s strong when he needs to be; he can back off and let his woman use her own mind when that’s what she wants. And he pays attention so he knows which way she needs him to be. But will the secret she is hiding keep Kathy from giving him a chance? Will she walk out of his life when her wedding duties are over?
I enjoyed this book once Matthew came into the story. Kathy was too scared of her status with the bride and overthought things at the beginning. The groom had a love relationship with his phone. Angela was unpleasant, if Kathy’s observations were correct. She really didn’t feel she fit in and I was afraid the whole thing would be a disaster. But Matthew saved the day. Grab your copy and enjoy the wedding!
This is a fun, entertaining romance between Matthew and Kathy. Their characters are strong and likable and the author does a great job bringing the two together, adding humor to this short story and giving some laugh out loud moments along the way. It’s well written, moves quickly and smoothly and I loved reading and would recommend this book.

Matt and Katy met at a wedding shower and for Matt the timing was just right. It was for Katie too, she just didn’t know it yet. Funny, witty, sad, you get everything with this book. I couldn’t put it down. Great storyline great characters. Follow Katie and Matthew as they fall in love under unpredictable circumstances. This is a great story and a great read. You won’t want to miss it!
