Buying a gun to kill your wife: $3,000
Hiring Trauma Care to clean afterward: $1,500
Having that same cleaner uncover evidence that frames you: Priceless
On her way to completing a degree in forensic science, Gabby St. Claire drops out of school and starts her own crime scene cleaning business. “Yeah, that’s me,” she says, “a crime scene cleaner. People waiting in line behind me who strike up … behind me who strike up conversations always regret it.”
When a routine cleaning job uncovers a murder weapon the police overlooked, she realizes that the wrong person is in jail. But the owner of the weapon is a powerful foe… and willing to do anything to keep Gabby quiet.
With the help of her new neighbor, Riley Thomas, a man whose life and faith fascinate her, Gabby plays the detective to make sure the right person is put behind bars. Can Riley help her before another murder occurs?
“Christy Barritt’s novel, Hazardous Duty, is a delightful read from beginning to end. The story’s fresh, engaging heroine with an unusual occupation hooked me, and I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend Hazardous Duty.”

It was fun, like a Christian Stephanie Plum.
Great read
Excellent read.
Overall I enjoyed the book, but I personally did not relate to the main character because she kept pushing ahead even when told not to. She was a little too spontaneous to suit me, but it did make for an interesting read. I was somewhat surprised at the ending, but then when it is too obvious who the suspect should be, they probably are not.
Read this book for pleasure
A well written story, characters were very believable.
I loved this book. It is a series and I am now reading the next book with these characters. Imaginative and creative storyline. You won’t be disappointed in this one. I didn’t know who did it until the end!
Loved it. Unpredictable, engaging.
It was a great mystery with humor and a character who didn’t have it all together. I guess I identified with her.
This was a good read.
I seldom quit a book but this one is going nowhere fast.
Good book
I read Hazardous Duty almost straight through on a trip and the time passed quickly as the story pulled me in with the various enexpected things that happened. I felt like I got to know the characters and enjoyed the dialog. I only gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it’s listed as a christian novel, but the christian impact seemed weak. Since …
Fun quick read
Love this author and enjoy all her books. Like following the characters on their journey.
easy, entertaining read
Interesting characters and unique story involving a crime scene cleaner. However, I wanted to frequently yell at the main character for being pushy and careless.
Excellant
I downloaded this book with the free offer and read it in two days! I love the characters and action and trying to figure out who the killer was. I will definitely read more in this series!
