WARNING
Intended for readers 18 and older. This book is highly radioactive due to the amount of “F-Bombs” these guys drop. Inside you will find violence, abuse and an adult situation or two. So, slip on that hazmat suit and proceed with caution.
HEALTH WARNING
This book is packed full of alpha male deliciousness, insta-something and enough over-sweetened romance that cavities are a real possibility. Keep your dentist on speed dial.

My goodness I sat up all night reading this book. Hawk’s choice by Carol Dawn was a beautiful story . I love the characters in this series as hard as what the subject matter can be the boys always find a way to lighten the mood with there witty banter and wise cracks. I love Slim and Hawk and I love the relationship between the two of them . Love is love no matter what gender you are and hawk loved Slim with everything he had. All Slim wanted was acceptense and love and he got that and more with Hawk and the brothers from the Infernal Sons MC.Carol Dawn
This is author Carol Dawn’s 4th book in this series, and she blew it out of the park. Characters are amazing, the emotions in this book is mind boggling, you feel so much for these characters and you fall hard for them too. Well done Author Carol Dawn, you’ve amazed me every time after each book.
Holy comma, Batman.
I want to cite this book right off the bat for gratuitous use of the comma. I felt like they were everywhere! Those little buggers popped up even when they weren’t needed. Whew.
Unfortunately, this book read pretty much exactly how you’d think a M/M book written by a primarily M/F author would go. I wish there had been more depth written into the characters, as they were so interesting. I also had some BIG issues with Slim/Phoenix just getting out of the hospital after being beaten up and Hawk pretty much manhandling him several times. So many unbelievable moments regarding that issue.
However. I liked Phoenix. A lot. I felt for him being tired of pretending. He just wanted to be himself. I loved how Hawk loved him. He was growly and possessive and I was here for it. I really did enjoy them together. There were several quotes I clipped just because they were so wonderful.
Overall, just a meh book for me, but I can’t be mad that I got to know Phoenix and Hawk.
*WARNING* contains m/m adult situations
I liked this one because it shows that even a big, bad, biker can be gay. The characters are great. The Infernal Sons are excepting and protective. Each story has it’s own baddie to deal with.
Ohh my sweet boy Phoenix, I wish I could just put you in my pocket so nobody can hurt you ever again… ok, maybe I can’t do that Hawk might not like it.
All throughout this series it’s been pretty obvious that Hawk has a sweet spot for Slim but he had been holding himself back. It took an accident for him to finally get past all of his own personal issues to tell Slim how he actually felt, but Slim still has some secrets. He’s been hiding his past and who he truly is because of wanting to keep the protection of the club… not to mention he’s so afraid that once the truth is out that he will be turned out to fend for himself.
“It’s really hard pretending to be someone you’re not. It takes a lot of mental strength to pull off a different personality than the one that’s begging to be set free. I’m so tired Hawk. I’m tired of pretending. I’m tired of hiding. I just want to be free.”
If the last two books haven’t shown the hearts of everyone connected to this MC, you will definitely see it in this book. Everything about this book and the family aspect of these people just made my heart so happy.
I absolutely loved this book. I know I would love Slim and Hawk together. Their love is one that is important and amazing to read. I absolutely loved the acceptance they got from their brothers and their old lady’s. The characters in this series all have amazing personalities. I laughed and cried and was amazed all through this book. I highly recommend this series and this book to all. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I have come to love all these characters and can relate to things each have gone through in their own way.
A Superficial and Overly Stereotyped Disappointment…
After two wonderful books by Carol Dawn for her premiere, Infernal Sons MC series, books that showcased magnificent, heartfelt storylines. I was shocked and badly disappointed by this book. A book that falls far below the refreshing, more serious, honest and grounded take on the typically over the top and cheesy MC romance.
This third book in Dawn’s series, “Hawk’s Choice”, is a m/m rendition of her overarching series theme of overcoming impossible odds, finding one’s inner strength, fighting for what you believe in, and keeping those you love safe no matter the cost. It is the story of Logan “Hawk” Allington, road captain of the Infernal Sons and identical twin brother of Sons Prez, Bear. And Phoenix “Slim” Owens, a small and timid club prospect with a penchant for electronics. A man with many secrets, hiding behind many masks. What follows is a heart pounding, suspense filled story about hate, bigotry, and all-consuming love.
And it was a story that should have been epic. It should have been brave and inline with Dawn’s previously straightforward, emotion filled explorations of life in the most difficult of circumstances, persevering and blooming into something beautiful and glorious. However, instead we are presented with painfully simplistic characters and cheesy scenarios.
There were two main problems with this story for me. One, the relationship portrayed within between Hawk and Slim felt derivative and not properly researched. Here, Dawn portrays Slim as a superficial caricature more inline with an episode of Rupaul’s Drag Race, than that of the multifaceted, gay young man posing as a biker club prospect. And after the care taken by Dawn with the characters in her earlier books, I found the presentation of Slim as highly effeminate and flamboyant ill informed and lazy. Furthermore, Slim’s character being juxtaposed to Hawk’s hyper masculine alpha male in such a clowning way is an offensive and far, far to often used stereotype. One that takes two emotionally complex men and reduces them to nothing but sexual silliness and perfunctory actions. A disappointing turn from an author I have thoroughly enjoyed until now.
The second issue I had with this book was the sloppiness of the writing overall. Unlike the first two books in the series, which were a bit rough around the edges but still enjoyable and fully readable. This installment was full of typos, misspelled words, and structure issues. A huge step back from the improvements demonstrated in Dawn’s last book. Additionally, where the last book showed a more focused dedication to character development and a more sophisticated range of emotional complexities. This installment is sadly pedestrian and feels rushed.
I was excited for Hawk’s story. I had high hopes his and Slim’s journey would be afforded the same loving care and respect as Bear and Rose, and Bella and Chain’s stories did. Sadly, this was not the case however. And after two stellar books, this one is a huge let down 🙁
I was blown away by this one.. Not all MC are acceptable.. But this one is! Loved Slim and how much out of his way he went to stay with his club even though he truely didn’t want to be a full fledge member! But wanted to be part of the club in his own way. Also how much Hawk went out of his way to show Slim he would be accepted and not turned away by his truths!
I liked this one a lot.
I love Hawk, I love Slim & I love all the Infernal Sons & their women.
I thought the tension with Slim’s secrets (3 of them) was well done & the villain(s) were suitably evil with evil designs on Slim. The climax of this story was excellent & I was on intense tenterhooks until the resolution.
And the epilogue was a sweet finish to the story.
The only thing I found that seriously strained my credulity was the total unquestioning acceptance by the entire MC Club of Slim’s 2 personal secrets.
IMO the author wanted to write a story where Slim would be wrapped in love & acceptance for who he truly was & how he wanted to be & I think that is a WONDERFUL thing to do, especially for people who are harassed &/or tormented in real life.
BUT, (again IMO), I feel there should have been some reticence, some hesitancy that was expressed by at least one or two Club brothers initially. Not hate. Not derision or shunning, but at least some consideration &/or uncertainty would have been more believable & added more tension & depth to the story, as well as allowed character growth of the secondary characters. As it is, this read to me like an MC fairytale: beautiful, loving, uber sweet with a wicked villain but not very realistic.
So overall, even with the unbelievably overwhelming sugar sweetness of the story, I liked this one a lot.
I have been waiting for this story for what seems like forever and it was so worth the wait!!! This book was everything!!! Hawk has always had feelings for Slim but has held himself back for the past year. Slim has some secrets that he wants to share with Hawk but knows that if Hawk rejects him that it would crush him so he keeps it to himself. When Slim gets hurt badly, that is Hawk’s wake up call to quit holding back and make Slim his forever. Slim can’t hardly believe that Hawk is wanting him as he is and loves him for it. All Hawk wants to do is be the man to carry Slim’s burdens and take care of him and love him as the man he is. I loved their story so much, it was perfect for them. I laughed, cried, swooned, fanned myself during the hot steamy times and let me tell you they were freakin hot!!! I highly recommend this story to all…such a damn good story!! I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series….cough cough Trigger’s lol!! Well done!!!
This is book 3 of The Infernal Sons and while reading the other two isnt necessary I do reccomend it as they are very good books.
This book was just so good it was so emotional! Poor Slim he just wanted somewhere safe somewhere to be loved for who is and Hawk was that place. You will feel so many emotions reading this book. The way Hawk loves Slim was heartbreakingly beautiful and just what Slim needs.
Slim has been a prospect for the Infernal Sons for a while now but he has a secret and past no one knows about. How the club responds just proves how much of a family these guys are.
This is a M/M story but it’s so much more it’s a story of love hope acceptance and finding your family and where you belong in the world
I had read and enjoyed the first two books in this series and could not wait to read Hawk and Slim/Phoenix’s story and it did not disappoint. This was another good well-written book and man these two are just fantastic together. The storyline was good and had enough going on to suck me in and keep me hooked I just did not want to put it down and ended up reading it in one sitting. This was a wonderful addition to the series and I cannot wait to read more from the rest of these guys.
Hawk’s Choice is the third book in the Infernal Sons series.
I loved Slim’s book. We finally get to hear his secret and the drama that follows him.
Slim has never been alone, Hawk has always been there waiting but no longer. The book has insta love, hot sexiness, MC drama and a HEA! Since Carol Dawn’s first book Bear’s Forever she has hit her stride! I can hardly wait for her next book to see where she takes us in the world of the Infernal Sons.
Full disclosure, I haven’t read a ton of MM romances. But the few I have, this is one of the sweetest. I know that sounds impossible considering its MC as well but trust me, it is. Carol Dawn writes some of the most deep, emotional love books around. Hawk and Phoenix’s story is no exception. Phoenix has some baggage but Hawk is happy to share that burden. In fact, he is ready and eager to take care of that baggage in a very permanent way. Phoenix was obviously very concerned about revealing his true self to everyone, afraid that they will be disgusted by him. But Hawk loves everything about him and the rest of their family took it in stride. I don’t want to give too much away as I feel it needs to be experienced. Hawk’s Choice is a wonderful example of love is love and I am so glad I read it.
I have had a crush on Hawk since book 1 so when I found out he was gay not bi, I was a little bit heartbroken (hehe) but reading Hawks Choice and learning the love he and Slim have for each other it made me fall in love with BOTH of them for a different reason.
If you’re looking for a sappy sweet love story with suspenseful drama and a HEA this is definitely it.
One of the best MM stories i have read. MM is not a go to for me. I am happy to read them when i know my characters. This book was beautifully written and i cant wait to find out what happens next
the long awaited Hawk and Slim……I honestly felt a few tears during some of the book and totally recommend. even if your not into M/M books, this one really doesn’t feel like it and it is totally worth the read. it was tastefully done with the grit that you expect from a MC book. can’t wait for more, Trigger is mine ya’ll 😉
