It’s another season of Renegade baseball and, as they say, the boys are back in town. All except for all-star pitcher, Hawk Sinclair, who has returned to his hometown and back to the ranch he grew up on to rehab after shoulder surgery.Real estate agent, Bellamy Patrick, feels like she’s failing at being a single mom. Her son is having a hard time fitting in and she’s hoping that playing baseball … playing baseball will be the answer. When he doesn’t make the team, she’s willing to do anything to help him… except that! And that’s exactly what the little league coach expects.
When Hawk’s asked to coach a team of misfit kids, he balks…until he sees how the program is run and how boys are left out. That’s when he knows he has no choice but to do the right thing and turn these boys into the players he knows they can be… and while he’s at it, convince Bellamy they’re meant to be.

I really am not a baseball fan. But once again McLaughlin has made me a believer. This has been a real page turner. I really enjoyed the characters. They are completely realistic and lovable. I really hope that McLaughlin continues this series a bit longer. It’s always a really amazing read.
I absolutely love The Boys of Summer! It has baseball and romance; two of my favorite things in the entire world together in one series!
Hawk came home to Montana to nurse an injury. And while home, he discovers his home team little league isn’t being run fairly and that there are kids who don’t get to play. One such boy is Bellamy’s son, who loves the game and just wants to play baseball. Bellamy moved back home to Montana after her cheating ex husband started a new family and didn’t want Chase around much anymore.
Bellamy and Hawk’s characters are phenomenally written! Their chemistry is off the charts!
Getting to read another one of Heidi’s baseball romances always makes this girl happy. And now that I’ve been introduced to Bellamy and Hawk, well, I can tell you he’s probably one of my top favorite characters.
When an injury forces him to come home, Hawk thought his life was over, until he meets real estate agent Bellamy, and soon comes to find out that maybe Boston isn’t where his heart is meant to be.
Bellamy is a single mom whose sole focus is her son. What she doesn’t count on, is running into a handsome baseball player named Hawk, who she shouldn’t want, but what she ends up needing in her crazy world.
Can’t wait to read Heidi’s next book!
First of all let me say that I absolutely love a sports romance! Secondly, I have adored each of the books in Heidi’s Boys of Summer series. While the bulk of the story takes place away from Boston while Hawk recuperates from an injury, the story remains rooted in the fact that he is a ball player. Then you have Bellamy, a single mom who just wants her son to be happy after their move to her hometown.
This story had layers, but they all worked so well together creating a rich backdrop. Hawk and Bellamy seemed like they were in such different places, but their pairing just worked from the start. They had great chemistry as a couple, and while their attraction may have been insta-love nothing was rushed as Hawk romanced his girl. I also appreciated the easy way Hawk had with Chase, Bellamy’s son as well as the other kids highlighted. So many feelings!
Once again the BoRe Reports were a terrific way of tying team happenings into the story. The catch ups with other players as well as their appearances kept the story tied into the series, while maintaining this as a stand-alone. For me this was a solid feel-good romance that was a perfect game from Heidi McLaughlin and Hawk!
Hawk is book 4 in The Boys of Summer series by Heidi McLaughlin. I love everything this author writes, she never disappoints and she out did herself with this one. This is Hawk and Bellamy’s story and can be read as a standalone. I love the instant chemistry these two have and as a Mom I love all Bellamy will do for her child. This was an emotional read and had me hook from the first page. I highly recommend this book!!
One of my top favorite tropes in romance is sports and single parent, so of course I dropped everything when Hawk released. Bellamy is the single mom of baseball loving Chase. She does everything she can for her son, but there are some lines she’s unwilling to cross for the coach of her son’s baseball team. Bring in Hawk, a professional baseball player. Recovering from an injury, Hawk heads back to his hometown, where he’s offered a position coaching Chase’s team. I loved Bellamy and Hawk together, and how he was with Chase. I also enjoyed their camaraderie and connection, and how devoted Hawk was to teaching the kids in town how to play. Although this is book four in the Boys of Summer series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Hawk is a definite must read, and one of my favorites of 2019.
A fantastic insta-love story from Heidi McLaughlin. I was pulled in to Hawk and Bellamy’s story from the off.
Hawk is a professional Baseball player for the Renegades and when he returns to his hometown to recover from an injury he has no idea he’s about to find himself coaching Little League.
Bellamy is a single mum and just wants her son to be happy when she goes looking for help to get her son into a little league team she meets Hawk and their chemistry is off the charts.
As love blossoms secrets and lies are also revealed but what will they mean for Hawk and Bellamy.
Hawk is book 4 in The Boys of Summer series and each one can be read as a complete standalone.
Another great book by this author! I fell in love with this book within the first page!
First of all, Heidi. . . wow. . . how to do you keep surpassing my already high expectations?
I loved this book. I have read her previous work but this one was definitely in my top 5 favorite.
Hawk is on leave due to an injury. He goes to his hometown for rehabilitation and there he has to face many surprises from family and friends alike. However, his love for baseball will help him find what has been missing in his life.
Back in his hometown, Hawk meets Bellamy. Bell is a mom that will do anything to see her son happy. Bellamy is starting over with her son. She wants him to play baseball however; due to some bullies (both parents and kids alike) who will do anything from allowing them to play.
Nevertheless, with the help of Hawk, these outcast young players may just have a chance to fix the corrupted system of little league baseball. And who knows he might just walk away with the girl too?
I must say that the kids were an added bonus that made this story so rich of entertainment. LOL. I loved Matty and the kind of girl she is.
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I loved to see how things develop between our two main characters, Hawk and Bell.
It can be safely read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Loved Bellamy & Hawk’s story. This book will have you all in your feels. Bellamy’s a single mom wanting nothing more that to help her son make the team he so desperately wants when a new hot as heck coach starts. Hawk being an injured professional player starts coaching little league. He develops a relationship not only with Bellamy but with a whole new team. When injuries heal and secrets get revealed where will that lead Hawks new life? This is an absolute MUST READ!!
Hawk is book four in the The Boys of Summer series. It can be read as a standalone. It’s told in the dual POV of Bellamy and Hawk. This one started off a bit slow for me and it took a little bit for me to get hooked in.
Hawk is a star pitcher that has suffered and injury. He’s back in his hometown to rehab and rest. His whole life is baseball and he’s struggling with his injury. He gets talked into coaching youth baseball. Hawk’s a good guy. Even though he’s really good baseballs player, he not cocky at all.
Bellamy is a single mom with an ex that’s kind of a jerk. She’s a real estate agent and works hard. Her son wants to play baseball but he keeps getting railroaded until Hawk comes to town and starts coaching. When Bellamy meets Hawk she doesn’t know he’s a pro baseball player which makes their story so much better. These two are cute together and they have a great story.
When a major league pitcher has to go back home after several years to recover from a recent surgery, he has to face a lot of animosity and surprises from family and friends, but his love of baseball with a little help from a beautiful woman and her son may be what he needs to find what he has been missing in his life.
“It’s nothing more than a façade. I’m in so much pain, I want to quit. But I won’t.”
Hawk was born to play baseball and when he left his family’s ranch in Richfield, Montana, to play in the majors, he knew it was going to be hard to go back home. But the surprises he has in store are more than he bargained for including a past indiscretion and a beautiful real estate agent and her son.
All Bellamy wants is her son, Chase, to be happy, but ever since she came back home to Montana after a bitter divorce, Chase has not made any friends and is not chosen to play on the local little league baseball team due to his jerk of a coach. However, with the help of the sexy and charming local baseball star, they may just make a great team. Too bad he is only in town for 12 weeks.
I savored this winning sports romance with a loving mother who truly wants the best for her son, and a caring baseball superstar who wants to help all the children in his community to be able to enjoy baseball as much as he does.
This is book 4 of the The Boys of Summer series and there were times where past characters were brought in which took a while to connect, but Hawk stands on its own.
Thank you to Ms. McLaughlin for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
WOW!!!! What an amazing 10 star story this was. I might have shed a tear or two. I have read pretty much all of this authors amazing stories but Hawk surpassed my already high expectations.
Hawk is on leave due to an injury. He goes to his home town for rehabilitation and there he meets Bellamy. Bellamy is starting over with her son. She wants him to play baseball but the town is corrupt. Hawk will step in more ways then one.
I devoured this amazing story in a matter of a few short hours. A solid page turner that consumed me. It was highly addicting and captivating. It was full of surprises. An amazing storyline that had me feeling so many different emotions. These characters were perfectly created. An emotional roller coaster ride. Bottomline this is 2019 must read.
It can be safely read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
I couldn’t wait too read Hawk’s story and all I have too say is that I wasn’t disappointed at all. Hawk will definitely make you swoon hard. Hawk & Bellamy are absolutely perfect for each other. I couldn’t get enough of their story and their ending was absolutely perfect.
Hawk is the fourth book in Boys of Summer series. Hawk is MLB player home recovering from surgery and Bellamy is single mom longing for acceptance for her son. I couldn’t stop reading this story. It has everything from secrets, betrayal, vengeance and everything in between to keep you turning the pages. Must Read Series!
When Bellamy’s son doesn’t make the baseball team, she wants to do everything she can to help him. Then a new coach takes over. A gorgeous new coach that Bellamy has no idea is actually a professional. Can Hawk and Bellamy make a connection and maintain it? What about once Hawk’s done rehabbing his arm? Does he head back to his real life and leave Bellamy, Chase, and his new life behind?
Heidi’s baseball stories are always entertaining, but I think she stepped up a notch with Hawk because I loved this one even more. Probably because Hawk and Bellamy are such great characters and the life they create together is so realistic and engaging that I felt like I was right there with them.
Hawk by Heidi McLaughlin is my new favorite sports romance! Hawk is so genuine, kind, and caring, and won me over from the start. Bellamy warmed my heart being her son’s biggest advocate. The kids in this book stole my heart and had me rooting for a HEA. Heidi McLaughlin hits a homerun with this must read story.
4.5 love at first sight stars.
Injured Hawk returns to his home town while he’s recouping. When he stumbles upon single Mom Bellamy he’s instantly attracted to her. Their chemistry is scorching and even though he’s sexy as sin, her main attraction to him is how he treats her son.
This is a sweet, fun and heartbreaking story that will have to smiling and desperately pulling for these two. The author has a wonderful way of telling her stories and this read proves how lovely her words can be. I really enjoyed it.

Oh how I love me some boys of summer! This entire series is absolutely amazing so I was so stoked when I heard we would be getting another installment of Renegade baseball. And boy did McLaughlin ever deliver!
I could not put this one down! Hawk grabbed my heart and I was gone for him from the start. This one kept me turning the pages until the very end! I highly recommend you pick this one up. You won’t be sorry.
