This ‘Sons of Sangue’ romance is one thrilling and energetic read that has intense hot emotions flowing from the pages in a feverous pitch. The characters are strong and convincing making it easy for the readers to connect and become caught up in their lives, while the romance between Hawk and Suzi, which is full explosive chemistry, hits emotional highs and lows pulling readers into its depth. This relationship is hampered by secrets, stubbornness, and one sinfully sexy vampire biker that is determined to keep her at arm’s length.

Hawk is book two in the Sons of Sangue series by Patricia A. Rasey.
What’s better than an MC romance? Well, one thats full of vampires.
So I wasn’t sure if I’d like this second book in the series. I had a lot of issues with book one, Viper, but it turns out I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. I couldn’t put Hawk down and read it in one day. It was entertaining and the vampire MC aspect worked, now that I understand the dynamics.
With Kaleb and Suzi their romance took center stage to the suspense. These two have a decades old history between them and so you can bet the sexual tension is going to be sizzling. Theirs a lot of sex, talk of sex, & the sex scenes are scorching hot.
Suzi was a nice character. She wasn’t annoying or whiny. She had spunk and went after what she wanted. Despite Kaleb breaking her heart years ago. Kaleb was stubborn and pure alpha male. The bad-ass MC president worked well for his character.
Hawk was an enjoyable read. I liked the push and pull between our leads and couldn’t wait for them to overcome the obstacles and find their HEA.
Rated: 3.5 Stars
Kaleb “Hawk” Tepes is now president of the Sons of Sangue. His twin brother Kane lost his seat after turning a human without permission and killing a primordial (that’s an elder vampire.)
It’s a seat he didn’t really want, but now he has it he’s going to make sure he keeps it!!
Suzi is a blood donor in the club that the bikers hang out in.
Suzi knows all about the vampires, she use to be the girlfriend of Kane’s son (but we find out later she was never really his girlfriend, just a cover for his other life)
She’s always had a soft spot for Kaleb, well actually she’s been in love with him for years, but after Ion died, Kane thought she was a heartless bitch, and wanted nothing to do with her….
Actually that’s not true, he wants her, at first it’s a hate/hate relationship. Then once Kane admits he likes her, he sees her in a different light, then all bets are off. She’s going to be his….
But we still have a vindictive vampire who wants Kaleb back as her mate (quick rundown) Kane was mated to the daughter of an elder, they had a son, she let the son die, Kane hates her guts, but she’s not letting him go, she thinks if she kills off Kane’s brother and new mate, he’ll come back to her!!)
She’s taking out members of the Sangue MC, Kaleb wants her head.
I liked this one, we still see the first couple in this book, we also get more background on all the characters.
Liked how Kaleb didn’t really want Suzi, but wasn’t willing to let anyone else take her blood. It took a while for him to believe Suzi had loved his nephew, but more like a brother. The slow sinking in of feelings was fun to watch, and then when he finally wants to make Suzi his, she’s wanting none of it. Watching him fight to get her back, to convince her that she’s it for him.
The secondary characters are all great, and I know most of them get their own books.
We also have the next book starting in this book. And that looks like fun.
This one was another good story. Kaleb had no plans to settle down with one woman. I liked him and I could really see his improvement. Suzi was a good fit for Kaleb. She seems to just want to do the right thing…whatever that may be. Kaleb or be alone. She does carry some secrets that not everyone understands.
While I liked this book I will probably stop here. At times the story seemed to drag and I lost interest multiple times. Although Gypsy’s problem would be interesting to see how he goes about fixing it.
** spoiler alert ** Suzi can’t help how she feels when it comes to a certain vampire. Hawk has told himself he despises her for years. The heart wants what it wants. Will Suzi finally get what her heart has longed for? Will Hawk realize what he has before it is to late?
I’m a sucker for this authors books and this one was no different! I didn’t blame Suzi for the way she went about things and I loved how loyal she was despite what she chanced loosing. I got to admit that at first Hawk rubbed me the wrong way, but overtime I came to understand him and loved seeing him evolve when he started to open himself to what he was feeling. Great read and cannot wait to read the next one!
