This book is easy to read. If you have some time to kill while waiting on an appointment this book will make it go faster. it does get hard to put down though.
A really interesting continuation of the Maximum Ride series. I loved them all and this is a fun addition.
REVIEW u2009
I received a complimentary copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. u2009

I have not read MAXIMUM RIDE (I will) and dove into HAWK blind. Lack of historical context did not detract from this story in my opinion. I am enamored with anything dystopian, so every aspect of HAWK beckoned me to read it. From page one, I was captivated, reading continuously until I had to go to sleep, and finishing up the next day. u2009

Hawk, the feisty female lead, is a character to be admired, contemplated, even feared, all while eliciting sympathy from readers. This girl takes awesome to another level with her daring adventuresome spirit. Additionally, Hawk’s unbelievable backstory fully rounds out her character. I want to know so much more about her, and I can’t wait to read the sequel. u2009

The story reads like an action movie- riveting, entertaining, fast paced, edgy, dramatic and leaves you wanting more. Any fan of fantasy or young adult fiction will likely enjoy HAWK. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this one today!
Have loved all the bird kid series and this one did not disappoint. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors always!
How incredibly lucky am I that The Book Terminal chose me to participate in a blog tour for this book? Not only did I get an advanced copy, but I devoured the book in one sitting. I hadn’t read the Maximum Ride books, but I never felt left out of the story. Now I have an incentive to go back and read them as I await book two. Reading reviews before writing my own, it’s clear I missed out on reading the originals.
Hawk is a flawed teenager who lives by a code. She is a survivor who takes care of “her kids.” Each kid has special abilities, abilities that came at a terrible cost to themselves. They’re lucky to be alive. If it weren’t for the kids, Hawk would be alone in the world. Her parents left her a decade ago, breaking their promise to return for her. As she makes her way amongst her friends and in this harsh dystopian world, Hawk learns more about herself than she ever dreamed possible.
Patterson has created a wonderfully rich and scary world with a fantastic main character who drew me in from the very start. I admire Hawk’s strength and resilience and dig her brand of sass. I cannot wait for book two because I need more of Hawk and Pietro. Hawk is a young adult dystopian/fantasy/thriller mashup that ticks so many boxes that it’s impossible to put down. Hawk is such a super fun read, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Worth reading, something Different!
I have read every book in the winged kids series and this one was just as good as any of the others and the ending left the possibility of another book in the series
Love the book….kept me on my toes. Kinda left me hanging as to what happened to Max, Fang, Angel, Gazzy, Iggy, Nudge, and Hawk. I sense there is more to their story. I hope James Patterson writes more. It is told from two people….Hawk and Max. While Mr Patterson’s chapters are short I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I found myself having to go back and read the series from the beginning. I couldn’t remember which one I have read. For those who are big fans of James Patterson, you won’t be disappointed with this young adult series.
Its been a while since I’ve read that serie. Last book Nevermore came out in 2014. Didn’t think we would have a sequel one day.
Hawk is Max and Fang’s daugther. She have been left 10 years ago for her parents to come back for her but they never did. She kept coming every day for half an hour at the same street corner but they never shows. She was to young when they left her so she does’nt remember their names or even hers. Or where and why her parents abandonned her. Until somethings came out and she will need to rescue the friends that she made and will need help. She runs on The Flock who were looking for Fang and are on a missions to rescue Max that is prisonner in a high security prison…
Yes this book wasn’t perfect. I have like the original series more. But I did enjoyed this book. And I did if you like the Maximum Ride serie who should read this one.
