The characters in this book faced a very difficult situation. The husband, who had been declared dead, came home after two years of undercover work infiltrating the enemy’s camp and gaining their confidence. Finally able to return home, he is dedicated to his duty as a soldier and is determined to give his superiors as much information as he can remember. However, he is unsure that he can ever be the man his wife remembers – a wife who is pregnant with his child. She had undergone in vitro insemination so that she could have a child and a piece of her husband. What a heartrending situation for these characters and what a wonderful story.

Gut-wrenching! She lost the love of her life, and just when she’s making a decision to move forward without him for the first time, he shows up at the door. The author brought a high level of empathy and emotion forward through Emily and while we sympathized with his plight, we had to dig deep to reach Win’s true self, but we eventually get there in a beautiful way. Really enjoyed their story!
