Have Tail, Will Travel is book 37 in the Celestial Mates/Romancing the Galaxy series by Nancey Cummings. This story can be read as a stand-alone.
This is my first time reading a book in this series and this author. From what I understand this is like a mail order bride storyline. Both parties sign up with the Celestial Dating service and are then matched to a mate. Once the paperwork is signed on the women’s side, they are essentially married, even though they don’t know anything about each other, but what’s on the paperwork.
I liked how this story went. We are treated to both Kalini and Merit’s POV and transported from Earth to the planet Corra.
We start with the horrible date that Kalini had and that leads her to sign up with the Celestial Mates. They hook her up with Merit and while their’s interest on both sides this is a slow burn romance.
Merit is the head soldier in the corner of the world he lives and he leads hunts and more to keep the citizens safe. After a horrible accident takes the life of his brother, he becomes the guardian of his niece and nephew, which he learns is not an easy task; especially to take on alone. I like Merit. He’s a strong male and determined to keep his family safe and whole.
Kalini has been burned before, so she wants to take things slow. On top of that she leaves her life on Earth to live with an unknown man on a far-out dangerous planet where she’s the only human. I liked Kal. She’s strong and easily adapted to this new life even with the harsh words and judgment from Merits sister.
I really liked that this storyline isn’t insta-love. They acutely have to talk and figure things out. Their where misunderstandings, things held back, but in the end they worked it out. I enjoyed their relationship and how it develops. The other thing I really enjoyed in this story where the kids. They are adorable and how Merit interacts with them is so sweet.
Have Tail, Will Travel was a wonderfully sweet and fun alien romance.
Rated: 4 Stars
Loved it! Super cute, and I wouldn’t mind a little tail from Merit **Grins**
I really loved how this book opened up with Kal and her horrible disaster of a date that led her to signing up for Celestial Mates. And when she finally meets Merit? Awwww! He’s adorable with the kids, and boy, to have the patience to deal with lice…he’s a keeper! Haha! I really enjoyed their relationship and really wished there had been more of them together together. Sparks flew between those two. Of course there were misunderstandings, things held back that shouldn’t have been, but they worked through it.
Totally recommend this book if you’re looking for a frisky feline hero, and something on the sweet side. Nancey always delivers a sweet happily ever after.
A mail order bride, or a mail order nanny
I really enjoyed this addition to the Celestial Mates. The author ensured that we felt the hardships that come from being in a post natural disaster world and the difficulties often found when creating a relationship with your mail order bride. There were deep moments as well as laughter throughout this book. I hope we will get to see what happens with Merit’s sister.
I loved this book.
Fast, fun and flirty bit of intergalactic romance. Easy to read, with action and a small bit of angst.
love the book
Super cute story. Enjoyed the storyline, sister in law was a bit over the top but she was an older sister bossing younger brother. Everyone seemed to have trust issues but it all worked out in the end. Read it you’ll like it
Not your typical romance type a novel very good storyline, the characters are wonderful and realistic
It wasn’t the ordinary interstellar bridge meets alien spouse story. The family dynamics made it more interesting.
Great read
I found the book to be kind of slow going. The characters were interesting, but a little flat. The author was just shy of making them realistic. Worth reading, but definitely could use a little spice.
Enjoyed the book. The characters were well written. There was steam. The story seemed slow at first but gradually seemed to unwind into a nicely written story. I think you will enjoy the story of Kal and Merit.
Very funny. And hot!!!
I like this world, off on the edge of the galaxy. The characters are very believable and the romance progresses naturally. I love the way Nancey Cummings writes.
Sweet little story.
It was different and the male/female interaction was steamy.
Poorly edited. Typos distracted from the story.
Easy read, HEA, predictable but not in a bad way.
This book has everything, unexpected characters, family drama, mean girls. This book was probably close to what the Wild West was at the turn of the 19th century but in an alien environment and alien enemies.
It was a sweet story and an easy read.
