My relationship with Royal Fitzpatrick has always been complicated and messy. At times, it’s even been incredibly painful. When I finally decide to stand up to him our senior year, unable to take another second of his bullying, Royal does the last thing I expected – he promises to change his evil ways. But I’ve been hurt by him for too long. He’s a lost cause. We are a lost cause. At least that’s … lost cause.
At least that’s what I tell myself for months until I see him actually become the good, kind man I knew he could be.
Unfortunately, Royal still has secrets, ones he’s intentionally kept from me and his best friends.
So while I was stupidly planning our future together, Royal was just trying to make amends before he says a final goodbye.

This is the 3rd book in the series and the final. I recommend reading the books in order. This story is about Royal and Hannah. The story itself is compelling. It’s impossible not to root for Royal from the moment the book started. This story starts the summer before Junior year. Royal slammed his car into a church and the church pastor requested he attend their camp as retribution. This is where he meets Hannah. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from Booksprout.
I have been impatiently waiting to read the story of Royal Fitzpatrick and Hannah Morgan. It was so well written and the timeline of their beginning , middle and current was so well developed.
Such a great series where there are the same group of characters they each can be read as a stand alone.
Royal looks like he has it all but his reality is a cruel one with an abusive father and a nonsupportive mother. He wears his anger as a shield. Hannah managed to break through that shield but someone ends their love and the damage piles up.
Loved these two and their struggles. Hannah was such a good person. Great dual POV where you get inside the characters minds. I highly recommend this book and series.
Love love loved these two!!! I have been curious about their history and excited for their story throughout the previous books. This is book 3 of an incredible high school stand alone series. One of my favorite parts of series is getting to see different point of views during similar time frames, as well as catching up with favorite past characters. Gangs all here and present and we get to dive deeper into the Royal/Hannah scenes that intrigued us previously. Thank goodness!
Royal, man that boy has my heart!! Such a crappy hand he was dealt, which made for his tough exterior. The man on the inside was an unexpected, wonderful suprise though. Him and Hannah’s chemistry was amazing. His wit was everything, and poor Hannah had no choice to give in. Hannah was a great character as well. I loved how she was so different than the previous heroines, I really connected with her and all she went through. Absolutely loved the true high-school feelings, and emotional vulnerability presented.
Definitely read this series!!
First Loves
Royal & Hanna are complete opposites. He’s been growing up in an abusive home & retaliates as a tough bully, lashing out & keeping to himself. Hanna gets her fair share of his bullying over the years during their school years. At a summer camp, she’s had enough of the bullying & stands up to him, resulting in an agreement to be nice for the 2 months at summer camp. She gets under his skin & they find they are attracted to each other.
Not all is smooth sailing as Garrett, another guy at summer camp, is in love with her & does everything he can to get her to reciprocate the feelings. Royal & Hanna make up, only to realize he’s leaving for boot camp & has 4 yrs of service. Can their love for each other stand the test of time or does she move on? A really good book to read & I would recommend this novel as well as the first 2 books of this series.

Wow, what happens to Royal is unforgivable. So much heartache and so much misunderstandings. Hanna has her own insecurities, but was she right to trust Royal? What is Royal going to do to her? Can they get past everything? What about their friends? Can they help?

Just loved this book so much, so glad Royal and Hannah’s story was the last in this series, I think it was the best and couldn’t imagine it any other way not to mention Royal was my favorite from the first book and I really liked Hannah, their story is stormy and emotional.
Sometimes you have to see beyond the surface to the potential within to understand the beauty of an item. That is what Hannah did with Royal. From the time they met as teens, she always saw him for what he could be, regardless of who he was trying to be. In the end, her faith in him led him to be the man she knew was there all along.

A perfect ending to the series! We come to a full circle with this newest release that doesn’t disappoint. Royal has been hanging around from the first book in this series and after reading his story we get a lot of answers that brings life to his character. His was misunderstood and when you find the missing link your heart will feel for his pain. I loved his HEA with Hannah and their journey of love, lost and romance.
Book three has brought us full circle it started with Aric, then we herd Blake story now its time for Royal all these young men had secrets all of theme friend all of theme not as well of as they let people believe and it took 3 very different girls that both tame there ruff edges and heal there pain.
Royal is the constant bad boy who spends allot of time in trouble his father is and abusive piece of work that leads him to act out and the summer of junior year he goes to far crashing his car and getting put to work at church camp were Hanna and he became more then friends but Royal let lies get in the way and made Hannas life miserable the one girl who wanted better for him. But now that everything is almost over and he’s about to get away from his family and join the Army his and Hannas life will come back together.
Hanna I have my own insecurities my own problems i opened myself up to Royal and he threw it in my face spread lies made my life awful no friends except for one girl and now he wants to be forgiven promises to do better i want to believe him but when its all over he will be in the Army and I will go to College can we make it work.
I have loved this series and I’m sad to see it end i really hope there is recap on how they all ended up years later.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and I have also purchased a copy for myself.

Amazing job Lane, thanks for sharing this treasure with us.
I really enjoyed this one. I was not sure I would warm up the the characters, but I totally did. I enjoyed it. You should give this one a try
Book 3 is Royal’s story. If youve read the other 2 books in this series (His friends Aric and Blake) then youll have already met him briefly. Arrogant Royal gets sent to a Summer camp for bad behaviour. Where he meets Hannah (FMC). His complete opposite, a good girl. What starts out as a way to get her into bed turns into a unlikely friendship and crush where they find out they have more in common than they thought. Except other factors seem to stop them from being together. I wasnt a fan of Royal at the beginning of this book. He was obnoxious but through the course of the book he grew on me and he seemed to grow up as a character. So much so i really wanted him and Hannah to get together. With some parts that actually made me feel sad for the two of them. I loved the other 2 books in this series and this one was just as great a read as those. Brilliant
Was fortunate to read all three books in this series in one go and boy was I glad for that as all the characters and plots were fresh in my mind.
Royal and Hannah’s story spans across years and their history will get you emotional at times as it takes you back to your own childhood memories.
Getting to know Royal’s story speaks volumes and you will not help falling in love with him and wanting to cuddle him.
Would love to read more about the other characters.

Finally we get Royal and Hannah book. You read about the rift between Royal and Hannah in book 1 but have no idea the depth of what happens. This book takes you back to what originally happens between the two and what happens when they go from summer camp to back to school. Royal ha last had a tough life but hides it all. I really felt bad for him throughout the whole book. I really liked reading about Royal and Hannah but felt the storyline moved a little slow for me compared to the first two in the series. I was hoping it picked up a little more. You get a little bit with all the characters together and some scenes overlap from the last book like homecoming and prom. Sad to see this series end. I highly recommend but even though it’s a stand alone you will enjoy more reading the series from the beginning.
Things are never what they seem….

Royal’s life is nowhere as perfect as some people think and yes he screwed up again and of course his father would do anything to make sure everything looked good. So here he is making good on the deal his father made when he meets Hannah an wow oh wow does he fall hard for her.
But of course things practically fall apart almost as quickly as they had started.
Especially when your dealing with teens who are notorious for raging hormones that in itself is a recipe for disaster but then you add in jealousy, hurt feelings and so called friends.

I pretty much thought I had Royal pegged after reading the first two books. I didn’t expect going from completely disliking him to feeling heartbroken for him and rooting for him!
It all makes perfect sense after reading this book. My heart broke after finding out what Royal had to live with and learning about some other uncomfortable secrets he kept from his friends and family. I’m so glad he had Sophie as a friend!
I really liked Hannah. She was pretty tough to be able to handle everything that Royal put her through but I did feel sympathetic towards her. It seemed like she just couldn’t get a break.
The end was pretty emotional, just a few waterworks. I loved the epilogue. This is one of those series where I’d love to read a reunion-type book where we get a look at where they all are in their lives five to ten years in the future.

L.A. Hart left the best story of the Mercy Academy Series to the last and it does not disappoint! Throughout the other two books, Royal Fitzpatrick was always the unpredictable one in the friendship trio along with Aric and Blake. Royal kept the trouble and pain his father subjected him to daily from everyone and continued to project the bully/bad boy reputation that was intended to keep others from learning his secret. He has had a crush on Hannah for as long as he could remember and finally wins her over only to lose her due to some conniving from a by who had his own sights set on her. For Hannah, she thought they were becoming a couple after their time at camp only to fall victim to the same deception. This book has such an unexpected turn at the end that caught me by surprise but made the book more perfect. I know this is supposed to be the last in the series but I hope that L.A. Hart’s hint that she might do another book that will showcase Sophie’s story and if that happens, I would love to hear how Aric and Maddie, Blake and Caroline and definitely Royal and Hannah’s lives have progressed. This is one Series you need to add even if you are like me and don’t normally do the teen angst genre. This Series will convince you that they are worth reading.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review..
Have Mercy is the third installment in the Mercy Academy series and features Royal and Hannah. I have enjoyed the first two books in this series, and was excited to read this one too! We get to see their whole story unfold, from start to finish. I love bully romances, they are always a hit for me, and this was no exception.

I’m sad to see this series end but what better way to end this series than with the enigma that is Royal Fitzpatrick! Royal and Hannah love to hate each other and hate to love each other but it’s those relationships that always end with the best HEA! We’ve followed Royal and Hannah since they were first introduced in book one but we never truly got the “WHY” as to the hate for one another; however, all is revealed in this intriguing story about friendship, hate, anger, lies and second chances. Prepare to be consumed!
An EXCEPTIONAL read!
OMW! One box of tissues and a sore back later, and I have no words that can express how deeply this story has crawled through my defenses and is embedded in my soul! Once started, I could not move away until ever word was read. Having read all three of author L. A. Hart’s novels about the Mercy Academy, I have to say Royal’s story captured every emotion and wrapped itself completely around my heart. I can’t describe why without spoiling the story for those who have not yet experienced this dark yet incredibly compelling coming of age romance. The way that Royal and Hannah dance around the angst, worry, and overwhelming emotions typical for those between the teens to twenty years of age were both unique and familiar. Unique in that I saw in their life experience something totally new. Something I have never felt. Yet their volcanic emotions were all too familiar and so eloquently described by author Hart’s easy to read yet undeniably descriptive prose. As do the rest of the novels in this trilogy, HAVE MERCY screams, “Rich folk have troubles, too!” and illustrates how having money does not keep trouble away from the lives of the kids born into a life of privilege. Concurrently, money can make those problems even bigger to surmount. The characters are memorable and extremely realistic. The story is credible, complex, and compelling. I jumped at the chance to voluntarily read an early copy of HAVE MERCY, and STRONGLY suggest that you purchase your copy of this excellent novel, today. HAVE MERCY has rightly earned a 5+STAR rating and is a MUST-READ recommendation. In fact, if I could, I would give it more stars. For anyone who likes the new adult trope, with some really thought-provoking, page-turning, drama, HAVE MERCY should be your next romance purchase. Accordingly, this story may hold triggers for some, gets pretty specific sexually, and should be read by those who are 18 or older. The MERCY ACADEMY Trilogy is outstanding, and HAVE MERCY is the best of this exceptional series. This is my VOLUNTARY review of a MUST-BUY novel. I will be reading EVERYTHING author L.A. writes! Happy pages!
