Ryan Bodean is down on his luck. He’s sold his business but has stayed on to do seaplane tours to Fort Jefferson. When his seaplane finally dies and has to be towed back to Key West with tourists on board he doesn’t think he can get lower. A friend from his last, Megan makes him a offer he can’t refuse! They start a salvage operation! When his houseboat is sunk and people fire on his plane while he heads out with Megan to a site they can’t imagine why anyone would want to shoot at them! This was an action adventure with a little romance. It’s a story about no matter how low you get and how deep of a depression you can get into there is always a way to pull yourself out especially with friends to help you. I really enjoyed this book! I highly recommend this book if you like quick action adventure books
Havana Fury – a review by Rosemary Kenny
*slight spoilers*
An adventure tours company won in a gambling den on a lucky bet, then lost to a gloating rival, a cherished seaplane fallen into disrepair and an ‘old flame’ encountered in an unexpected setting, are all aspects of MC Ryan ‘R.B’ Bodean’s life, at the beginning of this prequel novella by Steven Moore, in which R.B tries to turn his life around, from the gambling and alcohol addictions that have, til now, marred it so badly.
The aforementioned ‘flame’ is Megan Simons, an archeological scientist working in a bar to raise capital for a new venture – to discover the whereabouts of lost aviatrix Amelia Earhart’s plane, the Canary’, Megan believes she’s found the wreckage of and salvage it. She and R.B join forces to form a salvage company and then their fortunes take a turn for the worse,..they’re targeted by unknown assailants, who don’t shrink from murder, as the duo get ever closer to a history-changing discovery – or is it?

Havana Fury is all about Troy Bodean’s brother Ryan. This book is an adventure that has it all and it all happens off the Florida Keys. Looking for Amelia Earhart’s plane the Canary is the start of this exciting story. If you read this book you will become addicted to David Beren’s writing. Troy and Ryan are 2 of the best characters you will find in any book.
This is an excellent prequel to the series. Troy Bodean and Megan Simons are introduced and make a great team. Troy is the brother of Ryan Bodean, which is another series by David Berens and others. It’s full of nonstop action, danger and suspense that is unputdownable, enjoyable, entertaining reading.
This was the first book I have read by David Berens but it won’t be my last. There is a lot of action in this book and twists all along the way. I was delightfully surprised all the way through.
I was given a copy of the book and am providing my impressions.
Exciting start to a new series…
This fast-paced thrilling adventure is a prequel to an exciting new series featuring Troy Bodean’s brother, Ryan, as the main character. It is not necessary to have read the Troy Bodean series to fully appreciate this story (but those books are seriously addictive and extremely entertaining so why not read that series as well). Havana Fury is one of those stories that will hold your attention from the first page to the last and, being that it is a novella, you don’t have to fight yourself to put it down. Your can easily enjoy it in one sitting if you wish. The characters are well-developed and likeable. The story is absorbing and plausible and, as usual for both these authors, the writing is compelling. Take a break and treat yourself to a quick, adrenalin-fueled adventure. Where else can you get danger, drones, politics, peril, scuba diving, shark attacks, explosions and adventure at such a bargain price and never have to leave your favorite chair?
