I was a little nervous to read this book because I didn’t want Deidre to find a love besides Alastair’s. They were so in love with each other I just couldn’t imagine it. This story took some twists and turns I wasn’t expecting and was often sad or tense, but I did find myself being drawn in and needing to know what happened next. It was a beautiful story and I should not have been nervous at all.
Alistair and Deidre have been through a lot in their marriage. We met them in a previous novel as brother and sister in law to Moira and I longed to know more about them as a couple.
Moira has written to let them know of a danger she envisioned but doesn’t know how to interpret the dreams. Sending a letter to Deidre was her only choice, leaving the interpretation up to Deidre. Not sharing the letter with Alistair wasn’t her first choice but she knew how he’d feel about it.
Alistair hasn’t been able to function since he and Deidre lost everything, he doesn’t know how to get back to where they were or if they even can. All seems lost and he starts pulling away from Deidre, as much as he doesn’t want to.
Deidre and Alistair have a roller coaster of emotions in this novella, weaving many previous characters into their story as a fun catch up. I always enjoy catching up with people we’ve met in other stories just to see where they are now.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations, all opinions expressed are my own.
This book was enthralling, emotional and heartwarming. Soulmates Deidre and Alastair have been visited by tragedy time after time and now Alastair has pulled away from his wife, unwilling to feel pain and determined that he will not put her into a position to suffer that anguish again. Deidre however will not give up her husband without a fight.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book gifted by the author in a contest. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tugged, pulled, yanked!
Oh my, I love this story, the characters are so engaging they get your attention n don’t let go throughout the entire story! The feelings of love, loss, regrets, and do overs is felt many times during the book. Great writing and engaging story!
A wonderful story by this talented author that will pull you in and hold you close until the end, bringing together all the emotions needed to make a perfect Christmas miracle of love.
Sometimes tragedy pulls you apart, but it can also bring you back together. In this emotional story of the heart, Bree Wolf brings alive two souls, Alistair and Deidre, who love each other so very much. Unfortunately, with the loss of several babes and then one that survived for only a short time, Alistar pulls back from his wife, unable to face any more grief.
“They had not only lost a child but also each other.” But when Alistar finds out about a letter from his sister who was a seer about Deidre meeting a new love, he did not know what to do. Maybe she needed happiness and with him she knew only sorrow.
Emotional, heart tugging and a fierce love that needed to find a way back to bind these two together, wraps this story around your heart and does not let go. Perfect.
This book was a real roller coaster ride with the great character and storyline development that I was totally glued to my kindle throughout the entire book!
I loved this story even though I cried a lot. Diedre wanted a child so bad. She had been pregnant many times but she always seemed to miscarriage. Rory was just one more try among so many, but the baby lived only three months, Alastair was married to Diedre and Moira’s brother. Moira had the second sight and had sent a letter to Diedre. She was to look for a blue flower and then head to the ruins. She would find a great love. Her daughter, Rory, had died after being on the earth a short three months. Alastair had been cold since it happened, a year and a half ago. He still loved her but he had become cold since the baby died. It took almost everything in her to try to fight for her husband.
I loved the book, it was warm, made you cry, and you understood her and Alastair’s pain. She so wanted a family. She and her husband kept drifting away from each other. I thought the author handled the topic well, considering how touchy the subject is. The characters were wonderful and had great courage. The novel was a little short but still worth the time to read.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
As always, I enjoyed reading the newest book in the series. We first met Alastair and Deidra in earlier stories. They had a love that spanned from childhood. Having lost a child, in his grief, Alastair is pulling away from Deidra.
We follow them through much miscommunication and grief as they try to find their way back to each other.
I highly recommend this book. Although a stand alone story, I recommend reading the previous books in the series for maximum enjoyment as the characters are intertwined within previous stories. By this point, I feel like they are all old friends.
Thank you Bree Wolf for allowing me an advance copy in exchange for my honest feedback.
Another winner! Can’t wait for Fooled and Enlightened.

A wonderful, heart-warming story that really touched my heart! Bree Wolf’s writing is easy-flowing, time-travelling, mesmerizing! A story so intriguing, so romantic with a touch of drama and passion! A real page-turner!
A beautiful love story with a great ending!
I enjoyed this story because it is different than most. It is a love story with a man and his wife. Not from when they first met but during the coarse of their marriage. A fast paced story that keeps you interested. The characters are wonderful and have depth. There is even a character that has visions of the future, which was neat to me. I especially liked the roll that John played in the story (sorry no spoilers). The main setting is during the Christmas season surrounded by family and friends.

My review :
When having experienced the worst a parent could, can a couple pick the pieces of their love …
At first, I did not think if Christmas Day was the best moment to read this so full of sorrows tale but with the hope blooming after tragedy had struck on a couple again and again, it was in fact perfect.
This story shows the havoc loosing a child can cause to a couple, even a loving one, as each deals with its pain a different way, some retreating when others move forward.
So it is a story of healing, of letting the past go without forgetting it but using it to strengthen their bound.
“The wounds one cannot see are often the worst ones.”
For a short story, it is one full of emotions, longing and sadness, yet it is also filled with love and promises. Up to Deidre and Alastair what is worth to live and fight for.
Deidre is hurting from the loss of her daughter, but also the destruction of her bond with her husband Alastair. She is trying to find her way back to his heart but he keeps his wall up.
Alastair feels guilty for his baby daughter’s passing, since he distanced himself from his wife, feeling like he is the one responsible because maybe they were not meant to be.
It is thanks to Deidre’s determination to prove Alastair wrong, that their love make them stronger and that together they can face everything.
5 stars for this moving and heartwarming tale.
I was granted an advance copy by the author, and preordered my own.

Haunted and Revered is another heartwarming story from Bree Wolf. I enjoyed this story about Alastair and Deidre. I I loved the way Deidre fought back after the heart-wrenching loss of Rory. She showed strength and resilience and came out with a great outlook on life. Then, instead of letting Alastair shut himself off from life, she chose to fight to get him back. There was also a visit from characters from previous books, Lord and Lady Elton along with Lady Whitworth and Lord Radcliff. Lord Radcliff causes some issues between Alastair and Diedre which they have to resolve. This book was a great way to relax during this holiday season.
A Fantastic read. Regency reads are one of my favorite reads. Where
A splendid read takes you to a different world. I love these different worlds and stories. And this story definitely does not disappoint. This Author has brought a fantastic read to fruition. That I couldn’t pout down until I finished. I definitely recommend.

An emotionally charged story with well written characters that tug on your heartstrings and have you praying for a HEA. Deirdre and Alistair finally have a little girl after several miscarriages. Unfortunately, Rory dies and this sends Alistair into a deep depression. Deirdre receives a mysterious message from her sister-in-law that she hides from Alistair. She begins looking for the signs that her life will be good again. Alistair finds out about the letter. Family arrives for Christmas which causes things to happen.
Wow! This was such a neat way to tie a bow around the other family and friend connections in this series. What is more, I just relooked at the title and it says it all!
A brilliant climax to a wonderful tale, so well written that it conjured up pictures of what was going on in the story as I read it and I loved every second of that. Who needs the movies when we have such a fabulous storyteller!
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and my voluntary and unbiased review is above.
I enjoyed this well written book! It pulls at the heartstrings. Wonderful characters! Can these two find a way back to each other even after sorrow and heartache threaten to tear them apart? Can some who love both show them how to forgive and love again? Find out in this beautifully written story!
This emotional roller coaster read details a couple, Alastair and Deidre, whose childless state has driven them to emotional distance from one another. The short read is character relationship driven. Several hot- button topics appear in this story: multiple miscarriages, crib death, and rape, which may make the story too difficult for some readers. I recommend keeping tissues handy because this is a tear-jerker! This book will please the historical romance reader looking for a quick, emotionally charged read.
