I absolutely fell for this beautifully written romance with a paranormal twist. It was funny, emotional, mysterious, tragic, steamy romance.
Harper Castellano is in town after her family’s company has bought and renovated a 1890’s distillery into luxury lofts and a coffee house. While there she turns the coffeehouse into a local hotspot called The Company Perk. Unfortunately while serving a customer she spilled an entire cup of hot coffee on his chest and lap.
Alex Morehouse an accountant and partner at Morehouse and Wilder CPA Firm has taken over for the family’s firm at just 30 years old after his father’s retirement. While visiting the new local coffeehouse called The Company Perk sees a beautiful tattooed barista (that’s really the owner) in sky high heels mouthing from across the room if he wants more coffee. He signals yes to go please. Unfortunately as she sets the cup on his table it tips over spilling hot coffee on his chest and lap. She takes him to the back room to help him out of his coffee drenched clothes (lol)The chemistry between them is off the charts hot and not just from the steamy coffee. Things heat up when he buys one of her lofts that is haunted by a Victorian ghost named Kate. The secondary characters enriched the story even if there were a few I’d like to punch or trip!
Five mysterious beautiful
I enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading more. I couldn’t put it down until I was finished.
A little bit of paranormal and a little romance is what this book as about. You follow Harper and Alex’s love story in this book. Both come from family’s with successful businesses and are expected to perform at top level to eventually take over the companies. They find out who they are and what they want out of life.
Haunted by You is the first book I have read by this author. The story engaged my interest from the start and kept me reading to the very end. The story is set in Louisville, Kentucky and features a haunting mystery and a spirit residing in a renovated 1890’s distillery. The characters, Harper and Alex, are well developed, likable, relatable, and have undeniable chemistry together. The storyline is well written and has mystery, suspense, humour, tragedy, and steamy romance.
I am hoping to read more books by this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
From the characters, to the setting in Louisville, Kentucky, to the story itself, this is a compelling book. In fact, I finished it in only a couple of days because I didn’t want to put it down.
The plot pulls you along at just the right pace, revealing not only the story between staid accountant Alex and free spirit Harper but also a heartbreaking tale from 125 years ago. The twists and turns are both unexpected and believable. And Liza Jonathan nails the combination of Southern charm and New South energy that embodies Louisville.
All in all, a very entertaining read that’s well worth your time.
I have been looking for a good book and Author to read for some time and this book was so easy to read. I have now added this Author to one of my all time favorites to read. The pages just seem to flow and turn themselves. I’m currently reading Wrecking Christmas and hanging on every word. Keep them coming Liza.
This book is very interesting to read. It describes a strong women working in her family’s business. I enjoyed the ghost story it was a tragic event. I loved that both the hero and the female lead were working to please their fathers. I can not wait for this author’s next story.

I was offered a chance to read a copy of this book. It sounded interesting so I decided to read it. This is my honest review. The two main characters were extremely likable. From the beginning I wanted to know more about them. Alex was your basic nice guy, a suit-wearing accountant. Harper was a beautiful, intelligent, artistic young woman working for her family business in real estate/development. Their chemistry was instant and easy-going. I enjoyed the development of their relationship. There’s a paranormal twist in this book which was different and interesting. I liked it. The story moved along well. There were times I wanted it to move more quickly, but I’m a bit of an impatient reader at times too. The author did a great job setting the scene and giving you insight into the characters and their location, Louisville, Kentucky. I’d like to visit there one day. It sure sounds like an enjoyable place to live. I was impressed with this debut novel and look forward to reading more from this author.
Initially when I started reading this book it seemed to start a little slow so I had a little trouble getting into it but I kept an open mind and continued reading. Things finally started to pick up and I was able to really get into the story and plot line. I really enjoyed how this was not only a romance novel but that it had a magical story mixed in and the both stories mixed together. This was a great read and I look forward to the Charmed series.
Totally enjoyed this modern day romance balanced with a little paranormal activity. The main characters are driven, smart, and sexy with a whole lot of heat between them. Historic Louisville serves as a great backdrop. Setting the stage as a prequel, this book makes me look even more forward to the Charmed series.
