From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Heather Graham comes a new story in her Krewe of Hunters series… When you’re looking for the victim of a mysterious murder in a theater, there is nothing like calling on a dead diva for help! Krewe members must find the victim if they’re to discover the identity of a murderer at large, one more than willing to kill the performers when he … when he doesn’t like the show.
It’s Halloween at the Global Tower Theatre, a fantastic and historic theater owned by Adam Harrison and run by spouses of Krewe members. During a special performance, a strange actor makes an appearance in the middle of the show, warning of dire events if his murder is not solved before another holiday rolls around.
Dakota McCoy and Brodie McFadden dive into the mystery. Both have a
special talent for dealing with ghosts, but this one is proving elusive. With the help of Brodie’s diva mother and his ever-patient father – who were killed together when a stage chandelier fell upon them – Dakota and Brodie set out to solve the case.
If they can’t solve the murder quickly, there will be no Thanksgiving for the Krewe . . .
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

Every year around this time I get SO excited because I know that a new Halloween themed paranormal mystery novella is going to be released by this author. So you can imagine how excited I was to get my hands on an early copy.
So was it worth the wait? You betcha! Maybe not as entirely as enjoyable as the ones set in some of the more haunted cities (New Orleans or Salem), but it held its own quite nicely. The writing was excellent. It was fast-paced. The plot was engaging. I will say that it took me a bit to get into this one. The first twentyish pages were the heroine just doing a lot recounting who is romantically together with whom and other things that take place in the other Krewe books. However, once past that the book picked up considerably. The mystery was excellent and kept me guessing right until the end. Both the main characters were very likable and you can read all about how they meet and fall in love in ECHOES OF EVIL a full-length Krewe Of Hunters book that was released back in September.
So yea, not much left to say, really. This was another thoroughly entertaining read by this author, and if you are a fan of the series (or author) then you should grab this one as soon as it is released (Oct 30th). I look forward to seeing what she comes up with for Halloween 2019!
What better way to bring in the Halloween atmosphere than with a murder mystery. Global Tower Theatre is in the middle of a murder case that Dakota and Brodie try to solve. There is no better way to get answers that to involving the soul of who has already died. While the clues come in the reader is set on en enjoyable and interesting journey. This books makes me want to read the others in the Krew of Hunters Series. This was a great addition to the 1001 Dark Nights series.
Always love the Krewe of Hunter books and this one is no exception. The history interwoven into the story is amazing and never boring. The locations are described in a way that I actually feel like I’m there. Love the characters especially the ghosts . Even though its a novella its still GREAT!
her books are great, have read all the krew
I love all of Heather Grahams kewe of hunters books. Very great reads
Always a treat reading Heather Graham’s 1001 Dark Nights novellas and especially when it is Krewe of Hunters. Love this fast read, ghosts, murders and history!!
This is part of a series, and I must admit I’ve not read the previous books. So I went on Heather Graham’s website to get a little back ground …..
Secrets, ghosts and witchcraft! Join the Krewe of Hunters, an elite FBI unit of paranormal investigators, as they delve into the past to right the wrongs of the present.
Echoes of evil is the book that Dakota and Brodie meet, so this an extra. And reading we do catch up on previous couples (who I don’t know about !!)
But after catching us up, the action is practically nonstop.
My feeling is that you really need to read Echos of Evil, this feels like a snippet of their lives, and I like to know more.
But saying that, it’s a good read. Fast paced and full of action. It’s fun to see how they all interact with ghosts (it’s an everyday occurrence, so no one gets scared) a few twists that had you rereading to make sure you haven’t missed anything out
Very well written and thought out. All the characters were likeable and made me want to go back and read the series.
Reading Brodie interacting with his “dead” parents was interesting, and the interaction between Brodie and Dakota was great. And smut was kept to a minimum, story did focus a little too much on facts, and it did read like a history book, but it’s still an enjoyable read.
It’s a short mystery short, full of content, a few twists. And a really fun read
This was a fantastic, fast-paced novella to get in just in time for Halloween! True, all consuming love, repeating itself through couples centuries apart. A on old theater with a whole lot of mystery and a few permanent inhabitants. Helpful ghosts and a whole cast involved in solving a murder! So fun!
I have not read anything else by Heather Graham, so I can say this stood alone pretty well. I did feel like I would have understood some things a little bit better had I read more of the series, but it was not a total impediment to my understanding or enjoyment.
1001 Dark Nights never disappoints!
Since I love the novels of this author and have not been disappointed yet when I seen this one I jumped into it. The author then proceeded as soon as my eyes begin to see the words transport me into the story with Dakota and Brodie in this tale that also fits right in with the series of both. The mystery behind this one has you following closely with the magic that is between the two. The other elements in the story keeps you turning the pages quickly. Over too soon but leaving you satisfied with it all.
