Well, what a very good and surprising Book !
At the beginning I found a little difficulty to enter in this story.
Is it because I haven’t read the other Books of this saga (novella BROKEN and Book one STARLIGHT) ?
BUT after a few chapters, I dived in this beautiful supernatural story quite easily.
After this point, it was very hard for me to let down this book as I was so much captivated by the plot.
I loved all the characters, : Lily, Matt, Abigail… And the interesting plot.
I am eagerly waiting for Book 3 to see what is going to happen.
I do recommend this Great Book!
This is a great continuation of this series. The characters are well rounded, the action is awesome, the high school drama was realistic and the burgeoning friendship and possible relationship between Lily and Matt was sweet, funny and dramatic at times. I won’t say much about the actual story because I don’t want to give too much away. Lily is a teenager living through the horrors of high school. She and her mother are also in hiding from her father. Lily’s mom is a faerie, her dad is a lycan and Lily is both. When a new student, Matt, starts at the high school, Lily befriends him and the chaos begins. Matt is also in hiding from his vampire hunting family. Their friendship and possible relationship allow each to help the other with their supernatural problems while trying to protect their human friends and navigate the horror that is high school. This is an amazing story. The character development was incredible and so realistic. There is action, humour, friendship and love throughout this book. I really enjoyed reading Lily and Matt’s story thus far and can’t wait for the next book.

What a great book. Couldn’t put it down until I finished the book. Can’t wait to read more from Selene Kallan. Everything was great. The details were amazing. I had a hard time going to bed or working without knowing what was going on in the book.

Lily was awesome. Funny, smart, protective. Lily and her mother had to escape from her brutal father ten years ago. They have moved frequently and now believe they are safe. Lily is a hybrid, half fae and half lycanthrope, and her change is coming. Then she meets the new guy in school named Matt. Matt is cute, shy, and human. They become good friends with the potential for more but both are keeping secrets. Matt was brought up by a psycho who tortured him into becoming a killer of supernaturals. At a young age Matt had already killed many, and then when he found out the supernautrals were innocent and his father lied, he got away with help from a vampire. Can Matt and Lilly ever have a future together when he is a human and has blood on his hands and Lilly is a supernatural? I don’t know if it’s because I forwarded the PDF to my Kindle to be converted for reading, but therewerewordsoffullsentences pushed together and I just couldn’t get past it. I read 55% and the plot and characters were OK but not moving fast enough for me, especially with the difficulty of reading it. Sorry, not a great review but it is what it is…

This was a good story but Needs work due to words being pushed together throughout the book. That made reading the book a little annoying.

I will say this: the concept of this story is good. And I feel like this could be a very good book.
However. This book absolutely needs to be edited. It was so hard to read due to mistakes and words being shoved together.
Haunted: Selene Kallan
“Things had changed. I was no longer a weak child. Mom and I had both learned how to use our skills and we were far away from his radar. Safe. I placed my head between my knees and repeated that word to myself over and over. Maybe one day I would believe it.” – Lily Scott
Being half-fae, half something else was no picnic. Being on the run her entire life, trying to stay alive didn’t lend itself to making long term friends or indulging in long term relationships. But Lily and her mother have settled in Arizona, finally safe after years of moving place to place…
Matt Carter is a new student at Lily’s high school. Shy, introverted, Lily finds herself drawn to him. There’s something… Intriguing about him… When Matt faced off against the football team in physical education and avoided all the attempts at tackling him, Lily became even more intrigued.
“Memories of my past life invaded my thoughts without control; the pain and suffering, both mine and others, all the things I had done thinking that it was right, the blood I could never wash from my hands, the nightmares that would never go away. What if I could never be a normal person? What if my past keeps haunting me? I won’t let it, I decided. I had a new chance of living a new life. A life I better started making an effort to live.” – Matt Carter
Matt is haunted: haunted by horrific memories, by nightmares, by fears unacknowledged, yet so very, very real. He’s unsure of himself; of his place in the world, and concerned about what he may become… But when he’s with Lily, the burdens seem lighter. He can almost believe he’s a normal guy, starting to fall in love with a beautiful, compassionate girl… Rather than a fully trained, merciless hunter and assassin of all beings paranormal…
But Destiny has its own plans for these two; the past is about to revisit both of them… their past and present will collide… And threaten their future together…
An interesting story, but needs editing. Misspelled words, incorrect word usage, fragmented sentences, missing or incorrect punctuation: all make it difficult to read and interferes greatly with story line continuity. Could be trimmed in places as well, tightening up the story itself.
