Looking for a quick read? Hatteras Island Mystery can fill that need! Misty Gordon, a wedding photographer, is an excellent protagonist who discovers a barely alive man who washes up on the beach! Handsome Quin has temporary amnesia but realizes he is wealthy and someone is trying to kill him. You will wonder if there is a future for Misty who comes from a poor family and multi-billionaire Quin. I received a complimentary copy of Hatteras Island Mystery from the author. This is my honest opinion.
I really liked this story. Not too long with a lot action to keep you looking forward to the next chapter. Also the Romance between the characters was sweet with a nice ending. So dive on in and read this romance/suspense. I received a complimentary copy and this review is voluntary.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Misty see’s a man and the next morning finds him floating in the ocean near Hatteras Island in in the Outer banks, NC. But the twist is just starting, the mysterious man wakes up and then promptly disappears from the hospital. Misty runs into him again and people try to kill them both. Who is trying to wipe them out? And will this unknown man regain his memory? Really enjoyed this Christian thriller. Definitely recommend.
There was a lot of story packed into this small book. There was mystery, action, and romance, as well as a handsome man who doesn’t know who he is. I loved Misty and the way she was able to help Hazard figure out who he was. I would recommend this book.
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not obligated to write a positive review.
A good Christian mystery romance. I loved the storyline and the excitement. It has happy ending and leaves the reader satisfied. I did feel that it was lacking in detail, but for a novella, it is worth reading. No crude language or intimate scenes other than kissing.
Hatteras Island Mystery is an enjoyable mystery that has a sweet romance and enough suspense to keep us guessing till the end. While photographing a wedding Misty Gordon takes a few pictures of a handsome man at the wedding and then, the next morning, she finds him floating in the ocean. He has no memory so it is uncertain if he is an innocent victim or if he is involved in something shady. Misty makes sure that he gets help and then, the adventure begins!
What follows is an exciting tale of Misty and ‘Hazard’ trying to uncover the details of his past to reveal the present and future. They soon realize a mutual attraction but there are so many questions to be answered. Is ‘Hazard’ a good guy or is he running from something? Why is someone trying to kill him and why is Misty also a target? Will Misty ever be a bride instead of just an onlooker? Just who is Quinlin Witford PIedmont III?
Anne Greene never fails to entertain and readers never have to worry about explicit sex scenes or foul language. If you are longing to read a good romantic suspense story with a subtle faith-based message, you will want to read this Christian novella.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but a review wasn’t required. I am voluntarily sharing my thoughts.
This is a delightful story of suspense, faith, and romance. I like the characters, especially Misty, a woman who is primarily a wedding photographer on Hatteras Island in NC’s Outer Banks. She is well defined and engaging, as are most of the characters. I appreciate the very well-written mystery with the potential for a romance. I also enjoy the author’s beautiful descriptions of the ocean, colors, birds, and lighthouse that brought me right into the scenes. It is also a testament of the faith of two people and how they trust God through very difficult hours and days.
Misty was at the Cape Hatteras lighthouse taking photos of a bride and groom. After they leave, she walks the beach for a while, thinking of how the third of Misty’s best friends got married last summer. She not only is still single, there isn’t even a man in her life. At a wedding she photographed over the weekend, there was a fine-looking GQ-type man with a beard, but she didn’t get to meet him before he left. Being almost Christmas, the off-season has officially started when few people will come to the island.
Suddenly something bumps her foot – a man is lying on his back, being brought in by the waves! She sees his chest rising and falling so he is at least still breathing. With little time to speculate where he came from, she called 911, dragged him out of the water, pulled him to a sitting position, relieved when he started to cough out water he had swallowed. His eyes opened, and he looks vaguely familiar, someone she has photographed before perhaps. As the first responders arrive, she learns that not only does he not know what happened, but he doesn’t even know his name. The way the local police and Coast Guard officers look at each other, he could be an undercover cop of some sort, or someone whose lift was in danger, or even a criminal. One way or another, Misty feels responsible since she found him, and wants to help him discover who he is.
The author is adept at squeezing the best elements of a full-length novel into a novella, which takes real talent. I enjoy how I get to “see” the beauty of the island through her eyes, and how faith in the Lord is woven into the lives of Misty and the stranger. Suspense builds and becomes breathtaking as he disappears from the hospital, then as bad guys go after the two of them. I highly recommend this story to those who appreciate the combination of faith, mystery, and the dream of romance that may not be fulfilled, especially with a man who is a stranger to himself.
From a thankful heart: I received a complimentary copy of this story, and this is my honest review.
I got to visit Hatteras Island in North Carolina through Hatteras Island Mystery by Anne Greene. The characters were interesting and the setting was beautiful.
Misty Gordon is a wedding photographer and had just finished up with a bride and groom in front of the lighthouse. All her friends have married and she’s still a lonely bridesmaid. Walking along the beach to clear her head she comes across a body on the edge of the water. He’s still breathing but unconscious so she calls 911.
The mystery man has no memory of who he is or what happened to him. Someone is obviously trying to kill him, but why? Thus begins a mystery and the search for truth.
I enjoyed the interaction between these two characters as Misty tries to help “Hazzard” remember his name and why he washed up on shore. Danger appears seemingly around every corner. Come along with them and see if you can figure it out before it’s too late!
There were many nautical terms mentioned while they were on a large sailboat that I didn’t understand but it didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are my own.
Go to a wedding and wake up in the hospital with no memory! Action, suspense, some oh no moments and a sweet romance. Had to read it in one setting, great characters, interesting story line.
Hatteras Island Mystery is a contemporary novella written by a talented author. Having read a number of Anne Greene’s books, I was looking forward to an entertaining read and was not disappointed. The book is a quick and easy read with intrigue and suspense, some edge of the seat action and, of course, romance. When the reader sees pretty quickly that the main character is the last bridesmaid standing in her group of best friends, one can figure there is romance to come. And yet amidst the coming romance, there is mystery. Will our heroine be able to figure it out before she and the mystery man end up in more trouble? I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
