One night. That’s all it was supposed to be. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Sexy in a Suit breezed through the door on the first day of school. Ladies and gentlemen, meet my new boss. Not only does he instantly recognize me, but he accuses me of stealing something valuable from him the morning I walk-of-shamed out of his apartment. When bullying me into a confession doesn’t work, he turns my life … work, he turns my life into a living nightmare – as if that will coax me into returning what I supposedly stole.
But this is my school, and the only thing I’ll be returning is payback.
Game. On.
There’s only one problem. I wanted him before I hated him, and even now, a part of me still wants him. Somehow, through all of our fighting, through the anger and the pranks, I think I’m falling in love with the enemy.

Having been a substitute in an elementary school, I loved some of the classroom scenes because I feel like I lived a few. There was one that I was reading in bed while my husband was sleeping. I was full-on laughing and shaking, tears falling from laughing so hard…how he slept through it I’ll never know! u2063

Also, Jaxon might just be the world’s sexiest principal! I’m just saying. u2063

I loved Kristen Granata’s “Hating the Boss,” a laugh-out-loud contemporary romance featuring two of my favorite tropes, enemies-to-lovers and workplace romance. The banter between main characters Jaxon and Raegan was phenomenal, and the pranks they played on each other, while somewhat immature at times, were hilarious. Jaxon and Raegan were both well-developed and likeable characters, and I found it easy to sympathize with both of their points of view. I really appreciated the author’s choice to tell the story from both of their perspectives because it made the reasons for their misunderstandings clearer, and added more depth to the narrative.
I also enjoyed Raegan’s interactions with her friends and fellow teachers, especially Becca. They were so supportive of each other while at the same time being comfortable enough to tease each other, which led to some pretty funny conversations. Their interactions reminded me of good times with my own friends, which made me love this story even more.
Overall, “Hating the Boss” was a well-written and entertaining book that I highly recommend. I would absolutely read more of this author’s work in the future.

Hating the Boss by Kristen Granata will have you laughing out loud and not giving a damn who hears you. I laughed so hard during this book I had tears in my eyes. What an absolute surprise this rom.com from an author who is usually more dramatic and suspenseful in her writing. Her books always take you on a journey and this book is no exception. Jaxson and Raegan will steal your heart. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the story line is inventive and full of snark. You will read this book in one setting because the dialogue between all the characters will keep you turning the page to see what happens next. If you haven’t read a Kristen Granata book this would be a good one to start with
You will not be disappointed..
This was my first Kristen Granata book and it was hilarious! It was a super sweet romance with likeable characters and an original premise.
This book is exactly what my soul needed at this moment. I loved this rom-com so much! I couldn’t put it down and literally read it in a matter of hours. I loved that it was equal parts sweet and charming, laugh out loud funny and also had elements of raw and emotional moments in it. Jaxon and Raegan’s did not have your typical relationship and they had huge hurdles to overcome throughout their story but it was such a joy to read this book. Their prank wars left me laughing out loud until my stomach hurt. The dodgeball and coffee scenes are two of my favourite moments in the book! Then there was the awesome cast of female character’s in this book. I loved how Raegan was surrounded by a strong group of female characters who had her back and each others backs through everything. This book was also super steamy and had romantic moments that made my heart burst with joy. I highly recommend this book!
After reading some heavy emotional books I was looking for something light, funny and cute. Hating the Boss by Kristen Granata fits that bill. It was almost Hallmark movie perfect.
Raegan is a newly divorced kindergarten teacher, who missed out on her epic walk out scene. Her girls take her out to celebrate getting rid of some dead weight. Jaxon and his friends are out celebrating his promotion. Fate would have their paths cross. Lust would have them leaving the bar together.
When the next morning Rae wakes up not remembering 90% of what happened after leaving the bar, she does the walk of shame and high tails it out of his apartment before Jax wakes up. Jax awakens to an empty apartment and a priceless family ring missing!
Believing the beautiful woman he met at the bar had stolen the ring, imagine Jax’s surprise when he finds out she is his new employee.
Read as all the high jinx and childish games happen. Could Rae truly be what he thinks she is?? Jaxon is going to be shocked when everything comes to the light.
