It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before. The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone. … Becoming a couple – becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it. And we’re happy. Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me. As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened. I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

#Hater picks up right at the end of #Nerd so I would say this can’t be read as a standalone. While there is a too much drama that goes on that Rimmel and Romeo have to deal with, this one feels like an extended epilogue. I say this because they go through all kinds of bs because Zach is a db but they do it together. This makes my black heart so happy that through all of the bs they deal side by side and their love just goes stronger. I am here for it. Makes me fall in love with both Rimmel and Romeo that much more.
I absolutely love how the author handled this couple. My favorite thing to read is a couple together, handling drama together. They had each others back throughout the whole book and Romeo was incredible with Rimmel. I find it incredibly rare to find books where you see this.
Since their story began in book one #Nerd, you will want to read that one first. The first book had a happily-for-now ending, however this book does end on a cliffhanger and you will want to continue to book 3. After you read this couple, you will want to keep reading them anyway. They are addicting!
Can’t put it down, so happy I am able to read this series in one swoop! The scariness goes up a notch, making it even more of a love thriller. So enjoyable.
a beautiful continuance of #nerd. This one a bit darker, it will have you wondering if love will conquer all! It’s s deeper look into Rimmel and Romeo and their deep love they have for each other. Will they survive to oncoming tactics of Zach and he’s pure hatred for Romeo? More angst, some revenge and some devious plots to destroy the lives of people. I couldn’t put it down!
I have really enjoyed the entire series!! Great reads, quick and unique to each relationship and situation. Frequently, I see a writing trend in an author and every relationship follows it somehow — but that is NOT the case!! The author did an amazing job applying every character and their personalities to the relationship(s).
I listened in the Audible unlimited package 🙂

This is a reread for me. Back in the day I only rated book but now review them. So here goes…
All I can say is this book (and the whole series) is everything. So much love, action, and drama. Well worth the read. Even the 2nd time around has been amazing. On to the next book. Honestly, I love this series.
Romeo & Rimmel forever
So Hater is the book 2 of hashtag series, this also serves as the continuation of rim and romeo love story. This actually pick up what we left on the book 1.
Ugh! Zach you evil psycho man, I like you as a villain haha!
I’m still in love with this couple, and gladly they keep fighting for their relationship especially with Rome’s mum, but kudos for her at least she’s making an effort to know and accept rimmel as her son’s girlfriend.
I just want to say that rimmel’s character is so strong, loyal to the fault and her love for Romeo has no boundaries. Its just so sad that she’s been hurt before but thanks for her BBFL aka Braeden,
This series will conclude in #Player which is the book 3 of the hashtag series.
This series just keeps getting better and better and I’m loving every minute of it. I’m glad Rimmel’s roommate is coming more into the story and I can’t wait to see what her story is.
Romeo and Rimmel are still going against the “social norm” by not “sticking to their circles” and I love it. They just fit so great together.
Zach is back and doing what he can to bring Romeo down and I just want to slap the jerk every time I read his name.
This is by far my favorite series to date. Cambria Hebert has a way of making you feel a part of the story and a member of their family.
It turned out that I liked this sequel even better than the first one! The first one ended on a pretty steady, could be over type of ending. This book however, wow, that cliffhanger! I like that the characters are realistic/reasonable enough to realize that the other one would not cheat on them, so that even when the villain Zach is back, and trying to start stuff, Romeo never once believes that Rimmel was trying to get with him. And as I mentioned above, Romeo’s best friend, Brayden, he is one of my favorite characters! The way that he’s adopted Rimmel as a little sister is so sweet, and comical! This story had some really intense moments though. There was real life-threatening danger, and something happened to Rimmel that made her whole college career come into danger when she didn’t have the money to make up for the scholarships that might be taken away. We learn more about her past, and get glimpses into it with her fall into the pool, as well as when Romeo’s mother looks into it. Then there is definitely foreshadowing of the issue for Rimmel, but it didn’t turn out to be what I’d expected exactly, or what I’d expected to happen. I will have to get ahold of the third book on audio soon so that I can find out what will happen after this ending. My question of just why Zach hates Romeo so much still wasn’t answered, other than to maybe know that he is just psychotic!
This is the second book in the series so make sure you read #Nerd before you read this one. The main characters are a cute couple. There are those that would like to cause disharmony though. Like his mother and Zach. Some unfinished story lines that I am sure feed into book 3.
Wow! This book had me on the edge of my seat in the last half! So good! Need to jump right into the next book!
The nerd and the jock finally get together and find true love only to have revenge plot try and tear them apart.
Romeo and Rimmel are the perfect couple. She may look like the unlikely choice, but she’s it for him. Now if everyone else, including his mother, would just accept it.
Romeo fighting for the championship title with his football team, all the while try to get recruited for the NFL and follow his dream.
Rimmel is working hard at school and the animal shelter. She wants her dream too and vet school is her future.
These two will have to learn to balance their relationship, family all the while watching their backs. Zach who is hell bent on paying Romeo back. Revenge is about to take on a life all it’s own.
Romeo continues to deliver with his charm and being the perfect boyfriend. These two are so sweet you may just get a toothache! I loved it. I’m straight on to book three because I just have to know what happens next for Romeo and Rimmel, as their world implodes and their love is truly tested.
I thoroughly enjoyed this second book. God I love how Romeo loves Rimmel. There were scenes in this book that broke my heart and others where I wanted to kick someones booty! I can’t even go there about Romeo’s mom (in the beginning) and Zach. I got the biggest kick out the of the Buzzfeed posts in the beginning of each chapter, they made me giggle. I seriously can’t wait for the next book.
I am honestly in love with this series. I would go straight to #Player if I could but I have some review books to get to first.
So, in #Hater we start a little bit after the end of #Nerd. Rimmel and Romeo immediately sweep you off your feet by how much they care for one another.
Unfortunately for them, someone, a #Hater, if you will, is determined to make their lives a living hell.
This book was very thrilling in multiple ways. We have the thrill of getting lost in love and everything that comes with that. We also experience the thrill of the game and of danger. There are a lot of dangerous situations that Rimmel is put in and, though we know she isn’t a weak little girl, it’s nice to learn how strong she is and see where her strengths and weaknesses lie.
I can’t wait to find out what happens with Romeo and Rimmel next.
#Hater was the second of the many books I plan to read from this author I have fallen in love with Mrs. Herbert’s words. This one picked up fairly close to where the last one left off. Rimmel and Romeo have pushed past hardest trial of their love or so they think. In my best #Buzzboss impression “there’s a loose in our midst but who will be left standing when the dust clears. #WhosReady4TheShowdown”. Just when our two young lovers have set the record straight, they are not a phase they are the real deal, but an old grudge is not ready to leave them at happily ever after. There’s someone who has slowly been falling off their little rocker and landed into crazyland. Romeo and Rimmel’s relationship will be tested and being put in harm’s way is an understatement… Will the #Hater succeed? This sequel lived up the first books greatness…
#Player (Book 3) I’m coming for you!
