From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson, a coming of age, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels. I couldn’t remember a time before her… Harley Jameson. Before she owned me.Hated Me.Needed me.Before I hated her…
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.
I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.
She was mine.
Always had been.
Always would be.
Nothing altered that.
Not how much I hated her.
Not how much she hated me.
Especially, not how much I hated…
That I LOVED her.

I loved Hated You Then! I wasn’t lost even though I hadn’t read the previous books! Here is the review I left on Goodreads so pull what you want from it 😉
Enemies to lovers on a whole new level! M. Robinson has set the bar with Hated you Then! Jackson and Harley have the angst, the drama, and the push and pull making this book one you can’t put down! I am dying for more!
M Robinson explains the thin line between love and hate with her new release, Hated You Then, book one in her new Love Hurts series. Hated You Then revolves around two families we have come to know and love through Robinson’s prior releases. Childhood bullying, crushes, and prank wars have brought Harley Jameson and Jackson Pierce to a breaking point that only love, devastation and compassion can bring together. Robinson works her angst driven magic again creating yet another childhood to lovers story that you can’t put down.
I don’t think I can wait that long for the next book, because seriously the cliffhanger got me! And now I needed to know what happen to Jackson & Harley, how they’re going to turn back from what happened?! Just wow! I’m speechless at where the book ends still..
Never have I read a story from another author who can have her characters show so much love and hate for each other. Jackson and Harley’s story is was heartbreaking and at the same time funny and entertaining that you’re laughing at their antics and pranks. This is a book that left me emotionally hung over! My heart was broken, my eyes hurt from trying not to cry.
I just need answers to this book like right now! ASAP! I’m pretty sure I’m going to love this duet when the continuation comes!
Holy Hello Kitty, these two truly are FIRE!!!! M. Robinson has really OUTDONE herself!!!!! If you haven’t read this book, STOP RIGHT NOW, and one click this book!!!! What are you waiting for? Why are you still here?!? You HAVE GOT to READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!!

“She looked just like a Gremlin, and not the cute one, Gizmo. The ugly messed up one, Stripe.” Jackson Pierce
Hated You Then is the first book in the new Love Hurt Duet by M Robinson.
This book was everything we M Robinson fans could ever hope for!! This book was absolute perfection! It’s beautiful, raw and will definitely give you all the feels!!
Harley and Jackson have grown up together. Their families are close knit which makes means they are always around one another… even if they do hate each other.
These two were hilarious!! I thoroughly enjoyed their banter and general hate towards one another. It made the deep subject matter of this book more bearable because let’s face it… if you read Aiden and Bailey’s story in the Pierced Hearts Duet then you know it was devastatingly gut wrenching.
What readers will discover in this book will help them understand why Jackson was so unpleasant in The Pierced Hearts Duet. He wasn’t just a boy grieving for the loss of his mother and need for his absent father… there’s so much more he’s dealing with that readers have no idea about.
M Robinson delivered with this story. She has a way of evoking feelings that some authors never master. She put her heart and soul into this book, and I cannot wait to see what happens next in Love You Now.
All the Stars for this book!
Holy shit, I just can’t right now. The queen of angst does it again. I laughed, I cried and feel wrung out that I have to wait to see what happens. The characters are familiar and you completely see how they are interconnected.
I absolutely loved the beginning of the next generation. Harley and Jackson follow along right where the ‘originals’ left off. The nod to the first generation and their story lines was a welcome stroll down memory lane, especially when we saw pieces of history repeating itself in the kids stories.
Harley is definitely her daddy’s spawn, a sassy mouth, huge personality and never ever ever backs down from anything or anyone, especially Jackson Pierce!
Jackson is definitely a match for Harley, he gives as good as he gets and then goes another step, just to prove who’s better. Throughout their childhood, theirs is a hate/hate relationship, but you know what they say about the line between love and hate….
The story has it all, laugh out loud moments, cringe worthy passages, parts that make you swoon and parts that will rip out your heart. In all, it’s a great story and I can’t wait to see where Love you Now takes the rest of their story.
Dear M Robinson
My Heart…
couldn’t contain all the feelings I felt reading Hated you Then, you filled it with so much emotions that I felt every words through my veins and flowed through my blood and this book is stunningly beautifully written.
My Mind…
was spinning, my head is going to explode with so much wonderful words between Jackson and Harley. There wordplay is like a debate…a dance…a beautiful tango dance in my head…I couldn’t believe how talented you are in bringing all this words out that my imaginations felt like it’s real!
My love…
for this wonderful characters, Jackson and Harley never changed I’m amazed how can two people don’t recognised that the hate they feel is something more…something deeper…even there families can see it… both are blind on what’s truly there…until one of them or both them break it…
will Harley listen to Jackson?
will Jackson forgive Harley?
how will they mend what’s been broken…
This is such a powerful emotionally book, this book and duet is my top 2019 read.
Way more than five stars!
I don’t know what I can say to give this book justice. It’s raw, hilarious and it’s heartbreaking. Jameson and Harley are fantastic characters who’ve been in each other’s lives since birth, only thing…. they hate each other. And show it every chance they get. Their antics towards each other are freaking hilarious and at times I couldn’t stop laughing. But like whiplash, I went from laughing to a full on snot nose cry. Yeah, the feels come out in this and I can not wait for the next book. Come on November, I can’t stand it.

Hated You Then (Love Hurts Duet-Book One) is one hell of an emotional ride with a great balance of hilarious moments. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone however if you read the Pierced Hearts Duet, it gave you a glimpse of Jackson and Harley’s relationship. And damn they really do HATE each other and I found myself laughing out loud at their comedic, snarky and witty banter. Their teasing and constant pranks were on another level and made for an entertaining read.
This book is told from both POVs and starts off with how Jackson and Harley’s relationship began as kids and then continues developing throughout the years. I loved everything about their story and I thought the storyline was well written, meaningful and it flowed naturally at a consistent pace. Even though Jackson was a jerk sometimes, he went through so much in his young life and my heart broke for him. There were touching moments that had me in tears. Harley is everything I would ever want in a daughter. She’s feisty, head strong, definitely holds her own and doesn’t take any crap from anyone, especially Jackson. She also had a caring and sweet side that I loved.
Hated You Then does end with a cliffhanger and I seriously can’t wait for Love You Now.
„She went from the girl I hated the most, to the one I needed more than anything in this world.”
I think that I’m some kind of emotional masochist, because I KNOW that M. Robinson will make a blubbering mess from me, but I’m always coming back for more. And that’t the thing- she’ll break your heart, she’ll make you cry, but her words are so addictive that you just can’t resist! I knew that Harley and Jackson’s story won’t be easy or dotted with hearts and flowers. But Monica Robinson is such a masterful storyteller that it hurts in the best possible way.
Jackson and Harley have known each other forever and they hate each other just as long. They’re constantly competing, teasing and daring each other. Every following year adds a fuel to their turbulent relationship. But as they enter puberty, hatred becomes lined with other incomprehensible feelings. Harley is especially confused, because everyone around says that boys are teasing those girls they secretly like. But it’s really hard to believe with constant insults and pranks. Is there any line that shouldn’t be crossed?
Hated You Then is a hate/love coming of age perfection! What started as a cute banter between kids, with years turned into full-blown war. Jackson and Harley were constantly at each other’s throats. Some of these moments were funny, some of them were really mean and harsh. During this read more than once I wanted to grab these two by the heads and and force them to made up.
When the tragedy came, my heart ached for Jackson and I was scared how grief and despair will affect him. He could be the worst jerk on the planet in one moment, and vulnerable and comfort-needing guy in the next one. I don’t know if it’s a matter of the amount of suffering he has experienced, but I just want to cuddle him and love him and never let him go.
Harley is definitely daddy’s girl. She’s a bold and stubborn biker princess, headstrong and unyielding. She doesn’t back away from anything and her fierceness has no limits.
When most of the time I had a lot of fun reading this book, there were definitely moments when my heart broke into milion pieces. Especially in the last chapter, when M. Robinson showed why she’s called the Queen of Angst and served such a plot twist that I wanted to smash my Kindle, rip all of my hair out and hide in the corner to cry. I don’t know how I am supposed to wait patiently for 2nd book in this duet… My head and heart may explode from agitation. But man, I will suffer the worst torment so I could know the continuation of this story! I need it ASAP!
3.5 Stars
Sooooo…..where do I start??? I’ll first start with I truly love M. Robinson’s writing and I loved this story. BUT….being that I am such a fan of hers….when I got about 50% into this read I realized that this part seemed so familiar in that I had read this part before. So I went on a search of her past books that I had read and yes there it was the story of Choosing Us. Now don’t get me wrong I loved Choosing Us and I loved this one, but I hated the fact that I already knew this part of the story so it just kinda ruined it for me. Now the last 10% of this book was new to me and I can’t wait to find out of Harley & Jackson get their hea. I also had some issues with their ages and the way that they slowly progressed throughout the book and hope that the next book progresses in a faster manner than this one did.
Now I am pretty sure that I would have loved this one so much more if I hadn’t read Choosing Us first and of course it could just be me too. I still highly recommend this author to anyone out there because she is an amazing writer.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
This is the 1st part of a new duet, and what an emotional roller coaster journey this tale is!! Harley is the daughter of Creed and Mia, and Jackson is Aiden and Bailey’s son. These two had hated each other since childhood, and that hate is so strong that it is disguising their true feelings for each other. I adored their humorous shenanigans towards each other. The queen of angst has truly penned a brilliant masterpiece which is heartbreaking, intense, and with angst. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, which had me crying one moment and laughing-out loud in another. I have no words for that ending, just that I need #2 ASAP! Bravo M!!
Hated You Then is book one in the Love Hurts Duet by M. Robinson. This story chewed me up and spat me out. From the explosive beginning, to the heartstopping end, I was a slave to Harley and her mortal enemy. These characters have to be experienced to be believed. My mouth was forever opened in shock. My breath was often absent after being stolen by the intensity. Angst is owned and ruled by M. Robinson. She reigns over the angst genre. No other author comes close to rendering me speechless, breaking my heart and making me cry as much as this author. Tissues and tantrums are always present during the reading of her work. After being rendered an emotionally exhausted wreck, I cannot begin to describe the palpable dynamic between the leading characters. It is an experience like none I have ever undertaken in the world of words. I fell in love. I felt heartache, sadness, love and beauty. So many emotions. So much to feel. Complete emotional overload. Their story will live on in my memories. I was left feeling raw yet blissfully content. M. Robinson continues to cause carnage to a readers heart, and making me fall in love with reading more and more. I cannot wait for the conclusion to this brutally honest and passionate series. I know i will be wrecked once more. 5 stars.
This book leaves me speechless..the relationship between Harley and Jackson is friendship but also love yet these two are so divided and fight the feelings they share. My heart broke for Jackson over the death of his mom yet Harley knew how to help him overcome those feeling by being there for him.
M.Robinson does it again and makes me yearn for the next book that will tie this whole story of these two young friends who can’t seem to live without one another!
Jackson is here and he better watch out for Daddy Creed!! This is part one of the love hurts duet. Harley Jameson and Jackson Pierce have grown up together hating one another, but don’t you pick on the ones you love the most? As always we get the full back story of young Harley (age 6) and Jackson (age 7) until they are teenagers letting you really understand their hate/love relationship. Oh and of course cameos from Creed and the other amazing characters! That’s really all I can say other than you don’t want to miss this book!! Maybe have some tissues ready because you might need them. This has you feeling everything from the funny moments to the emotional ones and everything in between. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger so get ready for more.
Once again Monica has captured my heart!! Such an emotional read, you could literally feel it in your soul! Two young kids who battle their hearts and minds! Reliving tragedy through the eyes of a young man was heart wrenching! Can they overcome their hatred for one another? I can’t wait to find out!! Another amazing book by M that will leave you stunned and craving more!!
4.5-Stars ~ Reviewed on behalf of KindleFriendsForever
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style. Before I jumped into this story, I did a little research and was warned that the author is well known for her cliff-hanger endings. Little did I know that this one has a massive one so be warned!
Harley Jameson is her father’s favourite and can’t do any wrong in his eyes. She is a sassy, mouthy little princess. Her little MC kingdom would have been perfect if her enemy Jackson wasn’t in it. She can’t stand him and has hated him to her core since they were toddlers.
Jackson Pierce is the eldest of two sons of a surgeon who is close friends with Harley’s family. He is his mother’s favourite son. He cannot resist winding Harley up every time they see each other and he always gets her in trouble.
Narrated in dual points of view from when Harley was six years old and Jackson was seven, this coming-of-age story chronicles the misadventures, the wind-ups and the pains of growing up. The author flawlessly captures the angst of teenage life and when Jackson’s almost perfect family life is suddenly shattered. Oh boy, I felt this boy’s heartache and loss, my heart bled for him. Amidst all this turmoil his feelings for Harley seesaws from hatred to something akin to love! And Harley despite her hatred of Jackson, becomes his anchor to reality. The writing in this book has excellent pacing and character development and grips your attention from start to finish.
The secondary characters as I found out, had their own stories in the Good Ol’ Boys series and I would love to read the stories of Jackson’s and Harley’s parents and their friends. I am truly gutted that I have to wait for a few more months before I find out what happens to this pair. These two have a lot of growing up to do but then they are only teenagers so they need to learn from their mistakes and whilst reading their antics, there were times when I wanted to reach inside my kindle and bang their heads together. This new-to-me author is a revelation and I am very impressed. I would totally recommend this book.
Jackson and Harley’s books have been on my most anticipated list since I found out M was writing them and she nailed it. If like me you love the Good ‘Ol Boys series you will love this. We get the humor mixed with pure emotion. These two are bitter enemies the pranks they play on each other are hilarious. I loved seeing daddy Creed and how much he loves his baby girl who is 1000% a daddy’s girl. I didn’t care how bad Jackson behaved I wanted to wrap him in my arms and take his pain away. Although this book made me laugh and smile seeing the events of the previous book through Jackson’s eyes was at times soul destroying. The depth of his emotions that M manages to convey is written so well I was that young boy. An outstanding job M. Now we wait until November.
