From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson, a coming of age, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels. I couldn’t remember a time before her… Harley Jameson. Before she owned me.Hated Me.Needed me.Before I hated her…
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.
I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.
She was mine.
Always had been.
Always would be.
Nothing altered that.
Not how much I hated her.
Not how much she hated me.
Especially, not how much I hated…
That I LOVED her.

5 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE STARS!! This book is in my Top 5 Books for 2019. M. Robinson gives us readers all the feels…..I was laughing so hard at the banter between Jackson and Harley, crying, sobbing and holding my heart. I felt like I was watching a movie with this book, the story is so detailed it seems to come to life. I can’t wait for book 2….I am dying right now. You must 1-Click this book now, so worth the money and time.
“This wasn’t the end. No, it was only the beginning. It was now my turn… To make her pay.”
Hated You Then was EVERYTHING! M has nailed it yet again. Creed has always been my number one M alpha so to say I was excited for this book was a understatement. I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. SO. HARD! I devoured this story in a matter of hours. I simply could not put this book down. I was consumed with Jackson and Harley. Hated You Then was a fast paced enemies to lovers romance with rom com feels, and all the angst. Saying it was a emotional roller coaster ride is a understatement. My feelings was constantly changing with each page I turned. It was like emotion whiplash. I have never felt so much humor, anger, and heartbreak all at once. This book was messy, complicated, young love at its finest. I have never rooted for characters so much in my life. Something about the hate between Jackson and Harley just pulls you in. I was so entranced with this couple. They are like that train wreck you can’t take your eyes off of. I am dying to know what happens next. I have a feeling the Love Hurts Duet is going to wreck me.
“I owned her. She belonged to me, and she proved it every single time she said yes, because Harley never said no.”
Harley Jameson is a spitting image of her father. From the way she talks, all the way down to the way she acts. Her snarky comebacks and fiesty ways know just how to make you giggle. You truly never know what might pop out of her mouth next. She truly is one of those spit fire heroines who definitely keeps you on your toes. Harley may be young, but she knows just what she wants in life. Shes independent, unique and truly stands out. And I admire her character for that.
“I hated Jackson, but he was my boy to hate. All mine.”
Jackson was the complicated, broken alpha you knew he would be. I have always had a soft spot for him since we met him in the pierced hearts duet. I just simply can’t get enough of his a-hole ways. He’s devious, cocky, and arrogant. Always plotting, always scheming his next take down. But underneath it all he’s vulnerable. His vulnerability calls to you, makes your heart break for the broken boy underneath all that armor. Jackson Pierce may be a little sh*t, but that little sh*t is now out to own your heart.
“I’d keep trying to make her fall apart , in hopes it would keep me together.”
*5 STARS*
Well earned for a duet thata off to a fabulous start. If you are looking for a book that has wonderful characters, and all the feels then I recommend this book. Is it November yet!? I’m ready for more.
This is by far the best book Monica has ever written in my opinion. I didn’t think anyone could ever replace Jacob and Lilly as my favorite M couple, but Jackson and Harley may have just done it, at minimum they tied. I laughed I cried and I was left needing the next book now!
Monica has done it again and this time I am speechless. I have been waiting for this book since forever and now that I have read it I have to say this one is the best one yet! Harley and Jackson will have you laughing, crying and feeling all sorts of emotions!
If you think you are ready for this book…. think again! You won’t expect what will happen til it happens. I will say you may want to slap Jackson a few times and high five Harley. She is a hell of a spitfire.
It was also amazing seeing Creed, Noah and some of the gang again. It really feels like you are home while reading this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone bc it is soooooo worth it! Now I can’t wait to read Love you Now
I love a good rom-com and this definitely did not disappoint me. I loved all the bickering and pranks between Harley and Jackson. Seeing all the older characters from previous books makes me miss them so much, but it was great getting glimpses of them again! I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story plays out.
Well I gotta say this is one amazing book. I was laughing out loud one minute and crying the next. Harley and Jackson definitely keep you on your toes throughout this story. Reading about past good ol boys and just everything had me swooning hard. My favorite character in this whole book is Harley she is strong, feisty and does what she wants always. Jackson just makes you angry but at the same time you wanna hug the boy and never let go. This is a very unique love to hate romance one I’ve never read like before. I seriously can’t wait for the next book! 5/5 stars

Hated You Then é o livro perfeito.

Hated You Then is the perfect book. HYT has brilliant characters, it is a bit YA and spans many years.
I really wanted to read one of M. Robinson’s books. I had a feeling I was going to love her work; and guess what, I did!
Yes, I thought I would like HYT before I even started reading, but I was surprised all the same.
I am not a big fan of kids IRL, but I do like fictional kids. So I was beside myself with excitement when I met Harley and Jackson. They are strond and original characters, easy to like and realistic.
HYT has a great pace, the way M. Robinson wrote the chapters is perfect.
For me, it is a story about friendship. Yes, friendship. Despite their bickering, their connection is undeniable and, although I think they would deny it, Harley and Jackson do like each other, a lot!
And since I don’t get tired of the characters I love easily, good news, the story doesn’t end here, there is one more book.
The end was great. Keept me wanting more without making me go crazy while waiting for the next book. Namely, perfect.
I received an ARC and all opinions are my own.

The Queen has done it again!
I binged it and now am writing this review with puffy bleary eyes getting ready to go to work blind, cuz I read all night, ‘Ya Feel Me? (sue me I am channeling) Jackson, what can I say, he stole my heart when I first met him and now he has ripped it out and stomped on it. Stomped it so hard I don’t think it will heal. That boy… That boy, well he really needs his moma! But, I digress, Harper and Jackson, well you know if you read The Pierced Hearts Duet , that their story would be filled with pranks and repressed feelings and oh so many broken hearts. (Hint, you don’t have to but you should read that story first) But to get their accounts first hand from each of their own perspectives, of what was happening so early on in their lives that formed our hero into the not so much hero he is and Harley into the bada– she is. I mean we all ready know that we don’t get the full story until book 2~ Love You Now, but the angst, the pain, the love you clearly see. Yeah, You get it!
The pranks, the hate, the pain, that is all Jackson in a nut shell and boy I can’t wait for Harley to crack that shell wide open, cuz you know she owns them…His Nuts!
M. Robinson, you wrote such an incredible book, that is just full of ALL the feels! You actually made me cry. Me. A read with a heart hard as stone. It is a rare occurrence for me to cry while reading, but this story was easy to relate to. It brought forth the realities of what life is like when a spouse is sick…&what it is like for their children….it was eye opening &heartbreaking at the same time. I really adore when I can connect with a story on that level, and Hated You Then was a story that left its mark.
Harley and Jackson have grown up together. But just because you grow up with, and see them all the time, it doesn’t mean that you have to like it!
Harley hated Jackson, and he hated her back.
Their antics were hilarious. But, no matter how badly they hated one another, they somehow were always there for whenever something went wrong.
They put their differences aside, and while they may insult each other the whole tune while doing it, they knew when one another needed a little extra love.
Especially during family troubles. When Jackson needed Harley the most, is when he always pushed her away the most. But, she didn’t care what it took, she did anything she had to, to make sure he wasn’t alone with his pain and hurt.
You absolutely have to dive in and read this amazing story to understand the special dynamic. You will easily be wrapped up in Harley and Jackson’s lives, and you won’t be able to stop until that book hits 100%.
I highly recommend you put your nose in this book, because this duet will absolutely be one that you will forever remember. M.Robinson surely knows how to write a character with depth, and seemingly real feelings.
So, make that choice, dive in, laugh, love, cry…you will experience it all, and then that cliffhanger will leave your barely hanging on while you wait for the next book. &I promise, this is a duet that you will definitely be wanting to find out what happens next!
There’s a very thin line between love and hate! When you look this up in the dictionary Jackson and Harley names will be written in bold letters… This book Was gripping with a Witty dialogue, with great chemistry and a superb plot…
“M Robinson does enemies-to-lovers like you’ve never seen before…. hated you then Is the kind of story you think about for weeks…wishing you could read it all over again for the first time.”
From beginning to end, this book was intense, intriguing, captivating, and masterfully written…
“I laughed, I cried, I swooned, my heart broke in half, I felt Jackson and Harley deep down in my soul… they’re chemistry was downright explosive, a Rievting and passionate novel, full of feeling and intensity that will hook you from page ones it’s perfection!!!
unputdownable, utterly captivating, an emotional journey that will leave you wanting and craving for more, 5 easiest stars given!”
Actual Rating: 5+ stars!
This book takes the enemies-to-lovers trope to a whole new level! WHAT A BOOK! I was laughing, I felt the heartbreak, and then was laughing some more. M. Robinson has created a genre on her own with this an emotional comedy and I fell HARD for Jackson and Harley’s story! While I am bummed that I have to wait two months for the second book (yes, this one ends in a cliffy) I KNOW M. Robinson will not disappoint and the wait will be worth it.
Now, before I get into WHY I loved this book so much I want to recommend readers to read the PIERCED HEARTS DUET first . I say this because you may find this one contains spoilers for that duet. Not only that, it’s frigging amazing! The Pierced Hearts duet is the first books I have read from M. Robinson and I am now head over heels in love with her writing. She writes alpha males like no other and you will LOVE the sass in her heroines! Here is the link to that duet if you are interested THE PIERCED HEARTS DUET.
Now, on to this AMAZING read.
Hated You Then is Jackson and Harley’s story. If you have read The Pierced Hearts duet you will realize that Jackson is the son of the hero from those books. He’s the kid with a major chip on his shoulders because of the way his family fell apart (I don’t want to spoil it and TELL you what happened- you need to read it for yourself). I think his behavior is justified and normal for his situation, but he takes it to a whole new level when it comes to his arch-nemesis, Harley. These two HATE each other with a passion. They write nasty letters to each other back and forth (these letters had me laughing out loud), mercilessly tease one another, and sometimes even get physically aggressive with one another. Their hatred is THAT bad. It’s been going on since they were teeny tots and hasn’t let up even as they grow into teenagers.
That is, until something starts to shift…
You know how moms would tell their kids that if a boy is picking on you it’s because they like you? Well, that’s THIS book in a nutshell. Only much more heated!
Throughout the book we see how these two have grown together (along with their growing hatred) and readers are able to experience their lives from a very young age until the age of 16. I love how M. Robinson weaved the story this way because we really gained a sense of how they grew up together. The family dynamics also play a key role in the novel and this is why I suggest you read The Pierced Heart duet first. It will give you a lot of insight into Jackson and his behavior.
Other than this, all I can say is read this book! It’s absolutely engrossing from start to finish. Again, I wish I didn’t have to wait until November to see how their story will end, but it’s so worth the wait!
M. Robinson
Monica sure knows how put our hearts through the wringer and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
Jackson and Harleys book start of the next generation of the Good Ol Boys and their story didn’t disappoint! Harley is the daughter of Creed and Mia from Road to Nowhere and Ends Here. Jackson is the son of Aiden and Bailey Pierce from Choosing You and Choosing Us.
Jackson and Harley have been picking and hating on each other their whole lives. Their pranks are hilarious and the rare tender moments are heartwarming! But as they get older their relationship develops into something neither one can understand. And the cliffhanger at the end had me wanting to know what’s going to happen next.
This book had everything! I laughed, I cried, and I swear I felt everything they went through! Highly recommend!
I have loved the Jameson family for years, and then I fell in love with the Pierce family, too. So to say I was excited for this book would be an understatement. Hated You Then did not disappoint! It had me feeling all the feels, but also drove me up a fucking wall. I wanted to jump into the book and strangle Jackson! He is so much like his father! Gah!
I can’t wait for the conclusion to this story. The ending left me completely gutted! If you like angsty enemies to lovers, you can’t miss this one!!
She has done it again! I swear each book makes me feel more than the last one. I didn’t think anything could be as heart wrenching as The Pierced Hearts Duet; boy was I wrong! Reading Hated You Then through Jackson and Harley’s eyes was ten time worse!! I honestly had to stop reading for a minute to collect myself. This book was beyond amazing!
Jackson and Harley are meant for each other but they just don’t see it until it’s too late! If you can’t show love, show hate. Will the damage be too much to save??? Oh my word!! I want to talk about this book so much but I don’t want to spoil anything!
One of my favorite parts was that Jackson called Harley a Gremlin…not Gizmo but Stripe Be prepared for lots of laughs, tears and broken hearts! I can not wait for the second part of this duet!! Come on November 12th!!
Omg… I’m still trying to figure out what I just read. I have to bow down to the queen once again. She continues to surprise me. I love a good enemies to lovers story but this exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Love Hurts duet. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I read this book in one sitting and I was sad when it ended.
Harley and Jackson has known each other ever since they were babies. They hated each other from the start. Jackson is always pranking Harley because he can’t stand her. Harley gets him back because she is Creed’s daughter. As they get older they hate each other even more. They are always together though because they are family in their parents world. Jackson takes his mother’s passing out on Harley to get through the hurt and Harley tries to help him. Will Jackson and Harley be able to find a middle ground or will they hate each other forever?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all love, hate, devastation, and a lot of angst. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Jackson is a big jerk in the beginning. He loves doing pranks to make himself feel better. Harley is a good girl but Jackson will not leave her alone. She gives him a run for his money. Harley is a tough girl just like her daddy. M always puts in blood, sweat, and tears in her books and I love that about her. She will leave you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what this evil genius has up her sleeve next.
I believe this is M’s best writing. Ever. She has put her heart and soul into this story, making it one that will stay with you long after you’ve read it. All the angst you’d expect from her is there in spades. Along with humor, sass, a little mystery/suspense, and of course love.
True to M. Robinson’s style the cliffhanger is impressive. I was shocked, in a good way, with how it ended. The second book can’t come soon enough. Until then I will be re-reading Hated You Then over and over.
“With all my hate for u.”
At this point, I am sure everyone is aware that M. Robinson is one of my absolute favorite authors. Her stories are anything but dull, and they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS so detailed specific that I so easily fall face first, like it is the very first time again, and again. I can say with absolute certainty, that this duet ( Love Hurts) is going to be my all time favorite by this author. I hate cliffy’s with a passion, but I know without a doubt, that M. Robinson is going to make Harley and Jackson’s second half so epic, like epic of all epics, that I am not even pressed that Hated You Then ended with such a HUGE cliff hanger. Hated You Then, gahhh I just can’t even describe what it done to me. It was an all consuming kinda read, that literally chewed me up and spit me out; in an awesome kinda way. Jackson and Harley’s story overall was a lighter kind of read compared to Robinson’s previous books, but don’t get me wrong, there was A LOT of different emotions that was most definitely warranted. The dialogue between these characters was some of the best I’ve ever read. I could feel the emotion behind them so much, that it made it even more enthralling. Don’t even get me started on the secondary characters, to see them again, was like seeing my favorite family members. It was brilliant on this authors part to showcase the kids’ POV of their parents. From the story line to the antics, I could not love this book any harder if I tried. If I could I would bow down to M. Robinson in real life, consider it to have already been done. Now, bring on the other half!
** I RECOMMEND
* REVIEWED FOR REVIEWS FROM THE HEART
Hated You Then is the first book in Love Hurts duet and my first read from the author. I don’t know why I’ve waited long enough to read this author’s work, because let me tell you, this latest release of hers just fucking gutted me with all its angsty feels!
This book is a stand alone although I’ve found out that some of the characters here were from the other series. Nevertheless, reading this book only didn’t affect my flow at all.
All I know is that this book is an enemies to lovers, bully romance. I went ahead to read this with those in mind, and I didn’t expect all the twists and turns, not to mention those feels and angst that I was referring to. I legit teared up for Jackson’s situation. I don’t think a kid like him should face a situation like he did. It is just heartbreaking. But in a way, this will shape him up as a man.
Harley and Jackson’s chemistry was just explosive. These two really had it for each other. Their “hate” started early as kids. It was funny and cute as these two bickered and pulled pranks, that sometimes lead to even hurting themselves physically. Oh my goodness, I’m pretty much shaking my head and giggling with the way they deny what they started to feel, while constantly one-upping and outsmarting the other.
And oh my lawd! What’s with the cliffy ending! Gah!!! I need book 2 right now!!! Love, love, love this!
I always wonder why people hate each other when they don’t truly know one another. Where does it stem from? What allows it to continue? And, why can’t they see the truth beneath the dramatics?
All of these questions and more were on constant repeat as I ventured further into my first M. Robinson read for quite some time and while I don’t have any clear answers, I do know that most of the above actions and attitudes can’t be explained because when feelings are a part of the equation, anything goes.
I seriously don’t even know how to feel about Hated You Then. My thoughts and emotions are all over the place…it was incredibly difficult to keep myself in check as I read the first part of Jackson and Harley’s story because as much as I understood that this part focused on their younger years, meaning that their childish antics and over-the-top behaviors made more sense, I still wanted to throttle both of them multiple times as I read, and then, M. Robinson would craft scenes that broke my heart, making me get over my frustration for these two and hope that they’ll find a way to heal the scars and turn their hatred into something else, something that they both clearly needed, especially Jackson.
Coming-of-age romance insinuates that as the characters grow up that their childish antics and games would be a thing of the past, but that is so not the case with these two. No…all the time and growing up, age wise, only fuels the fire, mixing in some unwelcomed thoughts and feelings amidst entertaining banter that slowly goes from confusing to volatile, making me question if these two would ever find a way passed their hatred and animosity, but with the ending of book 1, I fear everything will only get worse before anything good will come of Jackson and Harley’s unwanted but intertwined nonetheless connection.
Because of the characters’ perspectives that Robinson provides, readers begin this journey with Jackson and Harley and watch it twist into something that has gone from a spark to an inferno, so what that means for book 2 is anyone’s guess; I, for one, am scared to death because it’s clear that there’s something broken between them, something that has festered and grown into something that is bound to erupt and the fallout of it and where that leaves them will remain unclear until the Queen of Angst puts readers out of their blubbering misery.
4 Poison Apples
Moncia has once again dazzled me with her words. This couple Harley and Jackson are the next generation and they are giving you a boat load of angst and drama. They are cute, funny, opinioned and full of so much personality !!! As you are introduced to each one of these kids you receive so much background of their world and you soon discover what makes them who they are today! You feel as though you know them personally . Monica has created an amazing cast of characters that surround these beautiful young adults that we have grown to love. Get ready for a crazy wild ride with these two!
Their is a fine line between Love and Hate . Harley and Jackson walk it every day and you are right on the front line to see it happen!!! Love it !!!
I cannot wait to read where these characters will take us !!!!
