Hate to Love You ( Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan. Will they give up on one another because its putting Tyler at risk or will Cole lose both Sam and Tyler? Read Hate to Love You to find out!
A great read about change. Sam’s brother has overdosed on drugs, but all she can think about is kissing his best friend, Cole Andrews. That night changes everything as she gets her hearts desire. But her brother always gets in the middle of things and Cole doesn’t want to risk Tyler finding out. Can their forbidden love blossom or is it doomed from the start?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Cole trying to be a good friend but also follow his heart or Sam try to do what makes her happy despite what others think.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the storm with the thunder and lightning in beauty and colour grabbing the readers attention from the start and a wonderful use of foreshadowing. Or the vivid colours used with the greens and blues of the eyes wonderfully written. Or the coffee shop with its homely feel and comfy booths for a sense of peace from the storm.
The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of the story and was easy to follow with names as chapter titles. The only issue I would raise is that the conflict of Tyler not finding out felt as if it was a bigger problem than it seemed. Perhaps if this was explained, this would br more relatable. Also the reminiscences into the past felt unnecessary and often repeated things. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars
Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan
5-stars
Hate to Love You is my second read by the incredible Lily Ryan and so far, it’s my favorite! I completely devoured this book as I couldn’t get enough of the steamy connection and drama filled relationship between Cole and Sam. From the very first chapter I was hooked, and I enjoyed everything about this story.
I love the push and pull between the main characters and often times it had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering how it was all going to play out. I can’t wait to read more from this author and hopefully more of these characters in the future!
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!
This book was full of emotions constantly pulling you one way to the other, but it also kept you on your seat. Hate to Love You is Book 1 in the Bakers Bunch Series written by Lily Ryan. Samantha has been in love with her brother’s best friend Cole since she can remember. Cole, has the same feelings but hasn’t acted upon them because of his best-friend aka Sam’s big brother. Sam’s brother has always told Cole to stay away from her so, Cole has never done anything…until now. Sam’s on her way to college and her brother has landed himself in rehab. There are so many ups and downs and twists and turns to this story is unbelievable. This story is not only a great love story but it is a great coming of age love story. This is also a definite Happily Ever After story. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone! Can’t wait for the next story to come out.
Hate to Love You was one of those books that I completely judged by its cover, and one-clicked once I took it all in. I have never had the chance to read anything from Lily Ryan prior to this and so I was definitely going in completely blind with high hopes. Let me tell you, Ms. Ryan did not disappoint! Yeah, yeah it is a second chance mixed with the forbidden love romance that you see a lot of in the romance genre, but it is so well written that you are engaged from beginning to end without a dull moment to be found.
I just adored reading Cole and Samantha. Their little love story and the difficult road it takes to get from that first life altering kiss brought be back to my younger years when love was young and naive. Sam is a tad annoying with the naivete character but it really ends up evolving and fitting the story quite well. I loved Cole, he swept me off my feet! I am super excited that this is book one in the Baker’s Bunch Series so there will be more to come in this story line. While I wait I have some previously released books to devour by Lily Ryan!
Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan is book one of the Baker’s Bunch series. This book has forbidden love, second chances and so much more. I couldn’t put it down!!
Sam has always had feelings for Cole it seems. Cole never cared much if Sam tagged along with Tyler, her older brother. Rule was Cole’s best friend so he knew that nothing could ever happen with Sam. Sam’s life seems to be unraveling but when everything seems like it’s falling apart, Cole is still there. Sam takes her chance. Will Sam and Cole make a go at it or will all the forces stack against them?
I absolutely loved this book. It was heartbreaking yet heartfelt. I felt every single emotion! I don’t even have the words for how much I love this book. I highly recommend reading it!
Hate to love you, by Lily Ryan, is the first book in the Bakers Bunch series. THIS BOOK was amazing and hooked me right away. This book is filled with tension, passion, love, lust, and heartbreak. Cole always knew that he had feelings for Sam but knew nothing would or could happen between them. SHE WAS OFF LIMITS. Then one night, while Sam is seeking confront from Cole things go far and they share of night of passion and longing. Quickly these two learn not all secrets stay hidden and one night could lead to losing something they both love and want.

Hate to Love You (Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan is a new adult/college second chance romance. What more can you ask from a story where the younger sister has a crush on her older brother’s best friend? Of course, grab that book and sit in for an enjoyable read!! Hate to Love You was a novel that held emotional shifts, along with secret desires, drama and additional antics that ensued. Sam was a great heroine in this story showing much strength when you’d anticipate most to cave to all the events occurring around them – but Sam was remarkable. Cole was a little more back and forth, but at the same time endearing and direct in his convictions. There were times that I just wanted to toss the two of them into a room to clear up events that occurred, but the way the author had the story play out worked for them. A great start to the Baker’s Bunch series.
This was my first read from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this read. Lily Ryan has a brilliant writing style, with great characters and a plot that was captivating and flows seamlessly from chapter to chapter. This was a brilliant romance read with all the feels. You could tell immediately that Cole & Sam were meant to be together from the feelings they have had for each other over the years, and all throughout the read, you can’t help but wish that they finally get a HEA. But is possible that the secrets they have been keeping, in order to protect those they care about will come out? Will they get a HEA?
This book was steamy in all the right ways, it keeps you turning the pages wanting to find out what would happen next, I grew to love Cole & Samantha together more and more in this read, they were relatable, real & likeable characters from the start and they just continued to make the story better and better the more their journey got told!
I can’t wait to see what else this author brings, but until then this isn’t a book to be missed, I highly recommend this read!
Hate to Love You (Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan is a contemporary young adult romance story. It is well written and engaging and enjoyable characters. It is about forbidden fruit that can no longer be denied and along with that the normal emotional ride.
Sam has grown up with feelings for her brothers best friend and now she can no longer deny it. But does he want her? Will one night make or break them?
Cole had noticed that his best friends sister is no longer a little girl but she is off limits, he has made that very clear. Does she feel the same? Will secrets and lies destroy everything they hold dear?
I look forward to the next book.
Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan is the first book in the Baker’s Bunch series. This is a brilliant Brothers best friend romance that is sure to capture your heart.
This is the kind of book that absolutely steals my heart and this one is definitely one of the best. I loved the connection between the two main characters. Their chemistry was undeniable and the forbidden nature so captivating. A lot of the time I find this element off putting but the author did it so well I was thoroughly convinced. As a first read by this author I have to say she blew me away and I loved every aspect of this book. To me this is a must read!
Hate to Love You was a good 4 star read and book one in the Baker’s Bunch series.
Samantha’s world has been turned upside down. Her brother is in the hospital and she has a secret that could really hurt people she loves. When Cole shows up to comfort her and take her to the hospital things take a heated turn. Cole quickly puts a stop to it, knowing that Samantha is forbidden, she is his best friend’s sister.
Samantha has had a crush on Cole for years. Cole has also noticed Samantha, but her brother has pretty much threatened him and told him hands off. With emotions running high and the heat between them, can they deny their feelings? Can they possibly get a HEA?
I overall enjoyed this read but I had some very high frustration levels with Sam. I had to keep telling myself she’s only 17. There is a lot of misinterpretations and misunderstandings, that add to the drama. There is also a learning piece, don’t always believe what you see and get the real story from those involved. The secondary characters were good and added a great element to the story. I actually would like to see more from these two and look forward to reading more from this series.
Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan is the first book in the Baker’s Bunch series. This is the story of Samantha and Cole and their chance at love. The two have known each other most of their lives. Cole has always been around since he is best friends with Samantha’s brother. What happens after the two have a kiss?
The story is really good and tells about a longing that has been growing between the characters for a long time. I like that they are concerned and have to deal with possible consequences of them growing closer together. The characters are also really good and I was hoping for them to find their happily every after. I look forward to where the series goes and hope to see more from some of the secondary characters in the future.
Hate to Love You (Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan
Four Stars
I dislike females like Sam. I’m definitely the type to run up on you if I see something crazy. I hate when people jump to conclusions. I want all the facts and details. Not second hand either. I need it right from the person’s mouth. Sam just wanted something to happen so she wouldn’t feel bad and everything was someone else’s fault. Cole at first seemed like a douche. But as the story moves along you start to understand his reasons and his version of events. I liked the way this author wrote this story. I always enjoy stories were we see more than one POV. I really think it makes a story more entertaining and thoughtful when they let you relate.
HATE TO LOVE YOU is the first book I’ve read by this author and I will be reading future books in this series.
This is one of those stories that was so frustrating to read because of the immaturity of the female protagonist UNTIL I remembered that she is only a senior in high school who has had a crush on her brother’s best friend forever and it makes total sense that she acts the way she does. Poor kid has no life experience.
This was a quick read with characters who are fully developed and a story that was well plotted from beginning to end. While the story was predictable at times, there were still some things that were fresh to the genre. The accountability the brother takes for the mistakes he’s made and how he came to be where he is in life. REFRESHING!!! Also, there is a conversation regarding #metoo and I’m super hopeful that this is actually happening in the real world peer to peer.
I absolutely am looking forward to getting to know more about Abby and Zane in future stories.
4 Stars
Hate to Love You is the first book in the Baker’s Bunch Series by Lily Ryan. It is a contemporary/ new adult romance story with a brother’s best friend- forbidden romance theme.
Cole Andrews and Samantha Stone share a history, growing up together- she is his best friend’s little sister, and completely off-limits. But a passionate night together changes everything, and a secret relationship begins. What happens if their secret is revealed? Do these two really have a chance at a future together? What about his friendship with her brother?
This was a well written and engaging story, if not a little predictable. This angsty story really had me rooting for Cole and Samantha, and I really wanted them to find their HEA, together!
I have enjoyed Ms. Ryan’s easy to read writing style and look forward to her next book.
Thank-you, Ms Ryan!!
I enjoyed this second chance story. One thing I enjoy most about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories right from the start, this one is no different. Sam and Cole have always had feelings for each other when they were growing up. With a relationship being a no no they both kept feelings to themselves. Now, years later, one night, one kiss could change everything for them. Will they get the HEA they deserve? Great characters, emotional ride, I highly recommend this book.
Happily ever after – check. Forbidden love – check. A whole lot of steam – check. This was my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always love finding new authors to read and new series to dive into and this hit both right out of the ballpark. The characters were well developed and felt very relatable to me. The plot flowed seamlessly. I found myself entranced immediately and had a hard time walking away until I had read the last page. If you like romance and HEA, you need this book in your life.
